Sometimes, if they feel particularly lonely or endeared by one of their prey, vampires might decide to not completely unalive them. Stopping their meal before the person dies, before they feel fully satisfied.
And then what seemed as a terrible and cruel act, turns into an immoral and immortal one. Reversing the roles, cutting their own flesh to share their supernatural blood with someone else.
Forcing someone to turn into a non living but not yet dead entity. To force them into cannibalism for the rest of their eternal existence.
