~ Remus' POV ~
Remus is sitting with his best friend James at lunch. James is talking about the upcoming school dance, but Remus is only half paying attention. He is too busy watching his crush; Sirius Black, who is sitting a few tables diagonally ahead of them sketching something in a sketchbook. All of a sudden Remus feels a sharp jab to his side. He rubs his side and says, “oww, what the hell Prongs? What was that for?”
“I am talking to you and you are ignoring me.” James says.
“I'm not ignoring you.” Remus says.
“Then what was I talking about?” James asks.
“You were talking about the dance and how you want to ask Lily to be your date.” Remus says.
“Lucky guess, but you know me too well. You wouldn't have to be listening to me to know what I said. Besides I know you weren't listening. I saw you staring at Sirius again.” James says.
Remus covers James' mouth with his hand. “Shh…. someone is going to hear you.” He says.
James removes Remus' hand from his mouth. “No one is going to hear me. No one is even paying attention to me. I have a good idea.” He says.
“What is your idea?” Remus asks, suspiciously.
“You should ask Sirius to go to the Enchantment Under The Sea dance with you.” James says.
Remus glances at the table ahead of them where Sirius is sitting focused on whatever he is sketching. “He probably wouldn't go with me. I don't think he even knows who I am.” Remus says.
“You don't know that.” James says.
“Trust me. I highly doubt he knows who I am. He doesn't talk to anyone, so even if he knows who I am he probably wouldn't say yes anyways. It's fine James. Just let it go.” Remus says.
“Ok, fine I will let it go for now. Now let me tell you all about the extravagant way I am planning on asking Lily to go with me.” James says.
Remus puts a hand up. “I am going to stop you right there. Have you learned nothing? Lily hates when you ask her out that way. She has turned you down every time you do it, because you make her the center of attention and she hates it. So think of a different way to ask her. A more quiet way that won't make everyone look at her.” He says.
“How should I do it then?” James asks.
“Just ask her privately, or maybe write her a note. I'm not saying for sure it will work, because she really seems to not like you. So she might still say no. I am just saying maybe she would be more willing if you didn't make it a big spectacle with everyone watching.” Remus says. He really wasn't sure if Lily would say yes, because she seemed to really dislike James.
“Ok, I’ll try.” Then James gets a smile on his face. “We should make a deal.” He says.
Remus gives him a suspicious look. “What kind of deal?” He asks.
“If Lily agrees to go to the dance with me you have to ask Sirius to go with you.” James says.
“I am not agreeing to that.” Remus says.
“Why not? Like you said Lily will still probably say no. So you have nothing to lose. So do we have a deal?” James says, holding his hand out.
Remus thinks about it for a minute, and realizes James is right he has nothing to lose. The chances of Lily agreeing to go out with James are slim to none. “Ok, deal.” He says, shaking James hand.
Remus thinks that he has nothing to worry about, because Lily will probably still say no.

~ Sirius' POV ~
Sirius was sitting at the lunch table with his brother Regulus. He was sketching in his sketchbook while his brother was reading. Every so often he would glance up to make sure he was drawing the person he was sketching correctly. Not that he would really have to. At this point he could probably draw this person blindfolded. Sirius is focusing on his sketch; he almost doesn't hear what his brother says to him.
“What did you say Reggie?” Sirius asks.
“I said that one of these days you are going to get caught.” Regulus says, barely looking up from his book.
“What do you mean I am going to get caught?” Sirius asks.
Regulus sighs. “I mean one of these days someone is going to see you sketching Remus Lupin and discover your crush on him.” He says.
“I highly doubt that is going to happen. No one pays attention to us.” Sirius says, as he continues sketching.
“Don't you think it is a little creepy that you sketch him almost every lunch period?” Regulus asks.
“I don't sketch him every day at lunch.” Sirius says.
Regulus looks up from his boom long enough to give Sirius a look. “You know that is a lie.” He says.
“So what if it is. I am not hurting anything.” Sirius says.
“No, you are just exhibiting stalker tendencies.” Regulus says, continuing to read his book.
“I am not. I just like him.” Sirius says.
“Then why don't you ask him out instead of staring at him like a creeper every day.” Regulus says.
“Because he would probably turn me down. He doesn't even know I exist. I mean look who his best friend is. He is best friends with James Potter; captain of the football team.” Sirius says.
Regulus gives him another look. “That has nothing to do with it. One James is like the friendliest guy in this school so it isn't like he would suggest Remus turn you down. Two Remus might be friends with James, but he is far from popular. I have seen him hanging in the library after school. He is a nerd that just happens to have a very popular friend.” Regulus says.
“I don't know Reggie. I don't think he would say yes if I did ask him out.” Sirius says.
“You will never know if you don't try.” Regulus says.

~ Remus' POV ~
The next day Remus is at his locker in the morning getting his books out when James comes running down the hallway. “Moony, Moony.” He shouts. James nearly runs into Remus.
“Whoa Prongs where's the fire?” Remus asks.
“Guess what?” James asks.
Remus gently removes James' hands from his shoulders. “Calm down Prongs. What has got you so worked up?” He says.
“I asked Lily yesterday after school if she would go to the dance with me. I did it just like you suggested, and she told me she would think about it.” James says.
“See I told you that it would work better if you didn't make a big spectacle and make it so everyone was watching her.” Remus says.
“Now it is your turn.” James says.
Remus gives James a confused look. “What do you mean now it's my turn?” He asks.
“I asked Lily out. Now it is your turn to ask Sirius out.” James says.
“I never agreed to ask Sirius out if you asked Lily out. I agreed to ask him out if she said yes.” Remus says.
“She said that she would think about it, which is basically a yes.” James says.
“Basically a yes is not a yes. So I don't have to ask him unless she says yes.” Remus says.
“I am holding you to that. When Lily says yes I am making sure you ask Sirius out.” James says.
Remus tries not to roll his eyes. He doesn't want to wish that Lily would say no, because he knows how much James likes Lily. Remus just wishes that he hadn't made the deal in the first place. “Ok.” Remus says.

~ Sirius' POV ~
Later that day Sirius is sitting at the lunch table again with his brother Regulus. He is busy sketching in his notebook glancing up every so often to the table a couple down from him where a curly haired, blue eyed cutie sits. Regulus says, “One of these days someone else is going to figure out you like Remus, because they are going to see your sketches.”
Sirius stops sketching for a minute and looks at Regulus. “How will they figure it out by seeing my sketchbook? I never let anyone see my sketchbook.” He says.
“Ok, they might not see that, but someone else is going to catch you staring at him all the time.” Regulus says.
“I don't stare at him all the time.” Sirius says.
“Who don't you stare at all the time?” A voice asks. Sirius and Regulus turn and see Regulus' friend Pandora pulling out the chair beside Regulus.
“No one.” Sirius answers.
“Is it Remus? I have seen you look at him before.” Pandora says.
“See I told you someone else is going to find out.” Regulus says.
“You probably told her to say that.” Sirius says.
Pandora looks at Sirius confused. “Why would Reggie tell me to say anything? I was just saying what I saw. It is ok though. I won't tell anyone.” She says.
All Sirius can think is that he is doomed. If Pandora has noticed other people probably have to. He just hopes that no one else has noticed. Especially Remus.

~ Remus' POV ~
It has been a couple days and James hasn't brought up Remus asking Sirius out again, so Remus figures that James was going to drop the subject. Remus is sitting at their usual lunch table eating when James sits down beside Remus. “Guess what Moony.” He says.
“What?” Remus asks.
“I was talking to Lily last night. She called me to tell me her decision on whether she would go to the dance with me or not.” James says.
James isn't acting all excited so Remus thinks that maybe Lily told him no. “What did she say?” Remus asks.
“Well let's just say I hope you know what you want to say to Sirius when you ask him out, because she said yes.” James says, smiling.
“Are you serious?” Remus asks.
“No, your crush is, but yes Lily really did tell me that she would go to the dance with me. So now it is time for you to hold up your end of our deal. Go on and ask him out, lover boy.” James says, nudging Remus.
“I don't even know what to say.” Remus says.
“Just tell him you like him and want to know if he would go to the dance with you. That is what I said to Lily. Nice, simple and right to the point just like you suggested.” James says.
Remus swallows hard. “I don't think I can do it.” He says.
“Yes, you can Moony. Just go over there and tell him you like him and want to know if he will go to the dance with you. The worst he can say is no. If he does then at least you will know how he feels. Come on Moony, you can do it.” James says.
Remus takes a deep breath. “Ok, I’ll do it.” He says, standing up.
Remus makes his way over to Sirius' table. When he is almost there he glances back at James who gives him a thumbs up. He reaches Sirius' table and clears his throat. “Hi.” He says.
All three of the people at the table all look at him. Sirius quickly shuts his sketchbook and looks at Remus smiling. The girl was the first one to speak. “Hi.” She says. Remus is pretty sure her name is Pandora. Then Sirius and his brother both say hi as well.
Remus knows there is no way he can ask Sirius out in front of other people. He rubs his neck nervously. “Can I talk to you alone for a minute Sirius?” He asks, nervously.
“Sure.” Sirius stands up. “Lead the way.” He says.
Pv
Remus leads them out of the cafeteria and then walks a bit away. Then he stops and turns to face Sirius taking a deep breath. “I like you a lot. I know that you don't really know who I am, but I was wondering if you would like to go to the school dance with me.” He says, biting his lip.
At first Sirius' doesn't say anything and Remus thinks that he screwed up. He is about to tell Sirius to forget he said anything when Sirius responds. “You like me?” He says, shocked.
“Yes, I like you too, and I would love to go to the dance with you.” Remus says, releasing a breath he has been holding.
“I’ll catch you later.” Remus says.
“Later.” Sirius says, going back into the lunchroom behind Remus.
Remus walks back to his table and sits down beside James. James turns to him and asks, “Did you tell him? Did you ask him?”
“Yes, I told him and asked him.” Remus replies.
“What did he say?” James asks.
“Well it turns out he likes me back, and he agreed to go to the dance with me.” Remus says.
“See I told you it was worth the risk.” James says.
“Yeah, I guess you are right.” Remus says. He was still shocked that Sirius actually liked him back.

~ Sirius' POV ~
Sirius is sitting with his brother and Pandora again at lunch. He is sketching in between eating his lunch. Out of nowhere Sirius hears someone clear their throat and says hi. He looks up and sees Remus standing there, so he quickly shuts his sketchbook. Sirius doesn't know what to say. Pandora is the first one to say hi back. Then Sirius and Regulus both say hi.
When Remus asks to talk to him alone Sirius agrees. He is curious to find out what Remus has to say. Sirius lets Remus lead the way and then he follows him. When they are far enough away Remus turns to him.
Sirius is speechless when Remus tells him that he likes him. At first he doesn't know what to say. Then he sees the look on Remus' face and realizes he has to say something. So he tells Remus that he likes him back. Then Remus asks if Sirius would go to the dance with him. Sirius agrees to go to the dance with Remus.
When they part ways Sirius sits back down at the lunch table with Regulus and Pandora. As soon as he sits down Regulus asks,”what did he want?”
“He wanted to tell me he likes me and ask me to go to the Enchantment Under The Sea dance with him.” Sirius replies.
“See I told you that you should ask him out, but I guess he beat you to it.” Regulus says.
“Yeah, I guess he did.” Sirius says smiling as he looks over at Remus' table. He still can't believe Remus actually likes him back.

~ General POV ~
It was the night of the Enchantment Under The Sea dance. Remus is ready and on his way to pick Sirius up. They agreed that Remus would pick Sirius up since he asked him out. Remus pulls up in front of a rather large house and parks his car. Then he heads to the front door and knocks. After a couple minutes Sirius' brother Regulus answers the door. “Sirius is finishing up getting ready, he will be done in a few. You can wait here for him.” He says.
A couple minutes later Sirius' walks down the stairs. Remus admires how he looks in his outfit. He is wearing a black dress shirt, with black jeans, and black shoes. Remus can also see that Sirius has his hair pulled into a messy bun. “You look amazing.” Remus says.
“Thank you. You look amazing too.” Sirius says, looking Remus up and down.
Remus is wearing a pair of dark brown khakis, with a blue button up, and brown shoes. “Thank you.” Remus says.
When they get to the dance they walk around first to see who all is there. Then they stand and talk as they listen to the music.
Faithfully by Journey starts playing and Sirius grabs Remus' hand. “Would you like to dance?” He asks.
Remus smiles. “I would like that a lot," he says.
Sirius puts his hands on Remus' waist as Remus puts his on Sirius' shoulders. They move slowly to the lyrics. Sirius is softly singing along to them as they dance. As the song is finishing Sirius leans down and kisses Remus gently. Remus melts into the kiss, kissing Sirius back. Both of them feel sparks the minute their lips touch. As the song ends they slowly move apart and smile at each other.
“I am having a great time.” Sirius says.
“So am I.” Remus agrees.
They spend the rest of the night talking, laughing, and dancing. Both of them are having a great time. Neither one of them wants the night to end, but unfortunately it has to.
When the dance is over Remus drives Sirius home. “I had a really good time tonight.” Remus says.
“So did I and I would really like to do it again.” Sirius takes a deep breath and grabs Remus' hand. “Would you be my boyfriend?” He asks.
“Of course I would.” Remus replies, pulling Sirius into a kiss.
Sirius kisses him back for a couple minutes before opening the door. “I’ll see you later.” He says.
“See you later.” Remus replies.
Neither one of them ever thought that the other one would like them back. Remus is so glad for the deal he made with James. If it wasn't for the deal he might not have ever had the courage to ask Sirius out.
