My dearest, come here, come rest.
Close those beautiful eyes of yours-
This giving them a break surely ensures,
And place your head on my chest.
Relax. You've done enough today.
Even more than that - you truly did great.
No, don't even try, that's not up for debate,
You've tried, and fought, and survived the day.
Come and let me hold you, darling.
I'll dim the lights to protect your gaze;
To ensure your peace I'll have my ways,
Until you restore your light, your sparkling.
My hand will caress your hair, softly,
I'll kiss your temple, as chaste as I can,
No more schedule to follow, no plan,
Just some time to rest, and hopefully - shortly.
