Who gets What?

Summary:

hmm its about well related to being gojo clan head and something else a little surprise

Work Text:

The annual autumn assembly of Jujutsu High's core leadership and grand clan delegates was held inside the main auditorium of the Tokyo campus.

It was a rare, high-security gathering. The auditorium was filled, every seat occupied by someone of importance. Seated in the primary gallery were Principal Yaga, Nanami, Shoko Ieiri, Utahime, and Assistant Manager Ijichi. They sat in a neat row, their expressions varying from Yaga's usual exhaustion to Nanami's carefully neutral mask to Shoko's faint, knowing smirk.

Right behind them sat the students. Yuji was fidgeting in his seat, clearly bored out of his mind. Nobara was scrolling through her phone, ignoring the proceedings entirely. Maki sat with her arms crossed, her expression sharp and watchful. Panda was trying to stay awake, his large head bobbing slightly. Toge was quiet, and Yuta, who had recently returned from abroad, sat at the end of the row, his posture polite and attentive.

Across from them sat the traditionalist elders. They were ancient, withered men and women, their faces lined with decades of political maneuvering, their eyes cold and calculating. They were flanked by senior legal stewards from the Gojo clan's inner council, men in expensive suits who carried themselves with the quiet arrogance of people who had spent their entire lives managing the affairs of the most powerful clan in jujutsu society.

At the center podium, leaning lazily against the wooden lectern in his sleek black uniform and dark blindfold, was Satoru Gojo. He looked, as always, completely unbothered by the gravity of the occasion. His posture was relaxed, almost slouched, and there was a small, amused smile playing at the corner of his lips.

Beside him sat Megumi, who looked like he would rather be swallowed whole by a Grade 1 curse than be in this room. His arms were crossed, his jaw was tight, and his dark eyes were fixed on a point somewhere in the middle distance, as if he was trying to mentally transport himself somewhere else entirely.

The Gojo clan's chief legal steward, an elderly man named Takahashi, adjusted his spectacles and cleared his throat. He held up a massive stack of sealed ancestral rolls, the paper yellowed with age, the seals still intact.

"We are here to finalize the official restructuring of Gojo-sama's asset, legacy, and leadership decrees," Takahashi announced, his voice echoing off the high ceilings. "This is a matter of great importance, not only for the Gojo clan but for the entirety of jujutsu society. The decisions made today will shape the future of our world for generations to come."

He paused, letting the weight of his words settle over the room.

"First, regarding the Gojo clan headship. Upon Gojo-sama's eventual retirement or passing, the title of Clan Head, along with the seat on the Big Three Council, will pass officially to Yuta Okkotsu."

A brief hum of approval rippled through the Gojo clan stewards and traditionalist elders. Several of them nodded, their expressions satisfied. This was expected. This was logical.

Yuta was a distant relative of the Gojo lineage through Sugawara no Michizane. He possessed immense, boundless cursed energy, held Special Grade status, and was indisputably strong, capable, and trusted with Satoru's very life. The Gojo clan elders, prideful and insular and obsessively protective of their bloodline status, were completely fine with Yuta taking the mantle.

Yuta, sitting in the gallery, blinked in mild surprise. He hadn't expected this. Not really. He had known that Satoru trusted him, that Satoru believed in him, but to be named the official heir to the Gojo clan headship was something else entirely. It was a weight he hadn't anticipated, a responsibility he hadn't asked for. But he gave a respectful, solemn nod toward Satoru. He knew the weight of that trust, and he was prepared to carry it.

"Now, moving to the remaining personal assets," Takahashi continued, dipping a brush into ink. "The primary Gojo vaults, the private estates across Kyoto and Sendai, the ancestral cursed tool collection, the infinite financial trust funds, the seal keys to the master library, and the absolute personal power of attorney..."

Takahashi paused, looking up. "We will leave these open for the clan council to manage under Okkotsu-sama's leadership—"

"Nope," Satoru interrupted lightly, popping a sweet candy into his mouth.

The room went silent.

Satoru chewed his candy slowly, deliberately, his blindfolded gaze fixed on some point in the distance. He looked, as always, completely at ease, completely unbothered by the gravity of the moment.

"All of that goes to Megumi," he said.

A silence so absolute and sudden slammed over the auditorium that you could hear the soft hum of the fluorescent lights overhead. Every single person in the room froze, their brains struggling to process what they had just heard.

Megumi's head snapped toward Satoru, his dark eyes wide in sheer, unadulterated shock. "Satoru, what—"

"The entire personal estate," Satoru continued, as casually as if he were ordering a convenience store lunch. "All the money, the vaults, the properties, every single piece of my private legacy goes exclusively to Megumi Fushiguro. Put Megumi's name down for everything except the clan head title."

In the gallery, Nobara leaned over to Yuji and whispered, "Did Gojo-sensei just make Fushiguro the richest teenager on the planet?"

"I think so," Yuji whispered back, his jaw slightly slack.

"Damn," Nobara muttered. "I should have been nicer to him."

Across the room, the traditionalist elders instantly exploded into outrage.

An old, high-ranking elder from the higher-ups' council named Oogi stood up, slamming his heavy wooden staff against the floorboards. His withered face was flushed red with anger, his hands trembling with fury.

"Absurd!" Oogi roared, his voice echoing through the auditorium. "Satoru, this is an utter disgrace! You make Okkotsu the clan head, yet you strip the entire wealth, the vaults, and the legendary heritage of the Gojo name and hand it to a Zen'in-blooded boy?!"

Oogi pointed a shaking, furious finger straight at Megumi, his voice dripping with ancient, toxic disdain.

"This boy doesn't deserve a single coin of yours!" Oogi barked, his voice echoing fiercely. "He carries the blood of the Zen'in clan! He is an outsider! Everything you own your wealth, your vaults, your properties belongs rightfully to the sole heir of your clan, Yuta Okkotsu! Handing your entire life's legacy to a boy who doesn't deserve it is a betrayal to your ancestors!"

The room went dead silent.

Satoru had made Yuta the clan head for a very specific, deliberate reason. He wasn't stupid. He knew how vicious, corrupt, and hypocritical the Gojo clan council was. If Satoru forced the Gojo clan headship onto Megumi a boy with Zen'in blood the clan would spend every waking second plotting Megumi's demise. They would swallow him whole, suffocating him in political target-painting and constant assassination attempts. Putting Yuta at the helm protected Megumi, while handing Megumi Satoru's personal world ensured his boy would never want for anything.

And hearing an old man say Megumi didn't deserve it crossed the absolute line.

Satoru Gojo didn't yell. He didn't laugh. He didn't even move.

Instead, the casual, cheerful energy surrounding him vanished in a single microsecond.

The ambient light in the auditorium completely died. The temperature plummeted so fast that frost instantly blossomed across the high glass windows. A suffocating, crushing physical weight descended upon the room like a collapsing sky.

Every single person felt their chests lock up instantly under the sheer, abyssal pressure of Satoru's cursed energy.

Slowly, Satoru reached up with one hand and pulled his blindfold down to his neck.

His bare, brilliant blue eyes snapped open. They flared with a cold, terrifying, lethal light that made Oogi's knees buckle instantly. Oogi slammed hard onto the wooden floorboards, gasping for air, his hands trembling violently as he tried to support his own weight.

Satoru didn't move an inch from the lectern, but his bare blue gaze locked onto Oogi like a death sentence.

"Say that again," Satoru whispered.

His voice was quiet, flat, and carried a weight so deadly that the wooden podium under his hands cracked down the center.

"Satoru..." Nanami gritted his teeth, holding his ground in the gallery, his face pale as he felt the sheer density of the aura.

"Oogi," Satoru murmured smoothly, every word hitting the elder like a sledgehammer. "You sit there, in front of my students, and tell me what my boy deserves?"

Satoru took one slow step forward. The floorboards groaned beneath his feet.

"I gave Yuta the clan headship because Yuta is strong, capable, and someone I trust with my life to lead this society forward," Satoru said, his voice ringing with absolute, terrifying clarity. "And I gave Megumi everything else because he is my boy. He is the one I raised. He is my heart."

Satoru tilted his head, a dark, razor-sharp smile carving across his face as his Six Eyes glowed in the dim light.

"Everything I have ever earned every asset, every vault, every single drop of my legacy belongs to Megumi Fushiguro," Satoru said, his tone dropping into a lethal, silky register. "If anyone in this room, or any elder in Kyoto, ever utters another word claiming Megumi isn't deserving of my legacy... I will personally wipe your name from the historical records before the sun sets today. Do you understand me?"

Oogi couldn't speak. He couldn't even nod properly, blood trickling faintly from his nose from the sheer pressure in the room. He frantically tapped the floorboards in utter submission.

SNAP.

The crushing, suffocating weight vanished into thin air.

The frost on the windows melted. The warm sunlight flooded back into the auditorium.

Satoru casually pulled his blindfold back up over his eyes, leaning back against the cracked lectern with a bright, sunny, completely unhinged smile.

"Great!" Satoru chirped happily, clapping his hands together. "Takahashi! Put Megumi's name on all the vault keys and trust funds! Yuta gets the big fancy office and the official clan seal! Meeting adjourned! Who wants ice cream?!"

The auditorium was filled with the sound of elders frantically catching their breath, wiping sweat from their foreheads with pale, terrified hands.

In the gallery, Yuta let out a quiet breath, looking over at Megumi with a warm, supportive smile. "Looks like we're partners in this, Megumi."

Megumi sat beside Gojo, his heart hammering against his ribs. He looked up at Satoru's ridiculous, smiling face, feeling the lingering warmth of the absolute protection his guardian had just thrown around him.

Megumi let out a long, quiet sigh, crossing his arms over his chest. "I'm still not managing the private vaults until I'm twenty, Satoru."

"Haha! I'll make Yuta hire accountants for you, kiddo!" Satoru cheered, throwing a broad arm over Megumi's shoulders and pulling him into a tight, affectionate side-hug.

Later that day, after the assembly had ended and the elders had scattered to their various corners of the jujutsu world, Yuta found Satoru in his office.

The sun was setting, painting the room in shades of orange and pink. Satoru was lounging on his couch, his blindfold pushed up into his hair, a bag of chips balanced on his stomach. He looked, as always, completely at ease.

"Gojo-sensei," Yuta said, stepping into the room.

"Yuta!" Satoru grinned, sitting up. "My favorite clan head! Come in, come in! Want some chips?"

"No, thank you." Yuta sat down in the chair across from him, his expression thoughtful. "I wanted to talk to you about what happened today."

"Ah, the assembly." Satoru popped a chip into his mouth. "What about it?"

"Why did you do it?"

Satoru tilted his head. "Do what?"

"Make me the clan head. Give everything else to Megumi." Yuta leaned forward, his eyes serious. "I understand why you gave Megumi your personal assets. He's your son. You love him. That makes sense. But why me? Why did you make me the clan head?"

Satoru was quiet for a moment. Then he smiled, a softer smile than usual.

"Because I trust you," he said simply.

"That's not an answer."

"It is an answer. You just don't like it."

"Gojo-sensei."

Satoru sighed, setting the chips aside. He leaned forward, his blue eyes meeting Yuta's.

"You're strong," he said. "You're capable. You're kind. You're everything a clan head should be. And more importantly, you're not Megumi."

Yuta frowned. "What do you mean?"

"I mean that if I made Megumi the clan head, the Gojo clan would eat him alive." Satoru's voice was quiet, but there was a hard edge to it. "They would spend every waking second plotting his demise. They would target him, isolate him, try to tear him down piece by piece. They would never accept a Zen'in as their leader, no matter how strong he is."

Yuta was silent.

"But you?" Satoru continued. "You're a distant relative. You have the bloodline. You have the power. You have the respect of the elders. They'll accept you. They'll follow you. And they won't try to destroy you."

"So you made me the clan head to protect Megumi."

"I made you the clan head because you're the best person for the job," Satoru corrected. "And because I know you'll keep the clan in line. I know you'll protect the people who need protecting. I know you'll do what's right."

Yuta was quiet for a long moment. Then he said, "And Megumi?"

"Megumi gets everything else," Satoru said. "The money. The vaults. The properties. Every single thing I've ever earned. Because he deserves it. Because he's my boy. Because I want to make sure he never has to worry about anything for the rest of his life."

"He doesn't care about money."

"I know. But I care about him. And this is how I show it."

Yuta studied him for a moment. Then he smiled.

"You really love him, don't you?"

Satoru's expression softened.

"More than anything," he said quietly. "More than my life. More than my power. More than anything in this world."

Yuta nodded slowly.

"Then I'll do it," he said. "I'll be the clan head. I'll keep the elders in line. I'll protect the clan. And I'll make sure Megumi gets everything you want him to have."

Satoru's smile widened.

"Thanks, Yuta."

"Don't thank me yet. This is going to be a lot of work."

"I know. But you're not alone." Satoru leaned back, his grin returning. "You've got me. You've got Megumi. You've got all of us. We're a family now. And family takes care of each other."

Yuta laughed softly.

"Yeah," he said. "I guess we do."

Later that night, Megumi sat alone in his room.

He was staring at the wall, his mind spinning. The events of the day kept replaying in his head the assembly, the elders, the way Satoru had stood up for him. Everything.

He had always known that Satoru loved him. He had always known that Satoru would do anything for him.

But hearing it like that, in front of everyone, hearing Satoru say that he was his heart, that everything he had ever earned belonged to him it was something else entirely.

Megumi felt something warm in his chest. Something that made his eyes burn and his throat tighten.

He didn't deserve it. He knew that. He knew he was difficult, stubborn, ungrateful. He knew he pushed people away, kept them at arm's length, refused to let anyone in.

But Satoru didn't care.

Satoru loved him anyway.

The door creaked open.

"Megumi?"

Megumi looked up. Satoru was standing in the doorway, his blindfold off, his blue eyes soft.

"You okay?"

Megumi was quiet for a moment. Then he said, "Why did you do it?"

Satoru stepped into the room, closing the door behind him.

"Do what?"

"Everything. The assembly. The inheritance. All of it."

Satoru sat down on the edge of Megumi's bed.

"Because you're my son," he said simply. "Because I love you. Because I want to make sure you're taken care of."

"I don't need to be taken care of."

"I know. But I want to take care of you anyway."

Megumi looked away.

"I don't deserve it."

"Megumi—"

"I don't. I'm not... I'm not good at this. I'm not good at accepting things. I'm not good at letting people in. I'm not good at being loved."

Satoru was quiet for a moment. Then he reached out and gently took Megumi's hand.

"You don't have to be good at it," he said softly. "You just have to let me love you."

Megumi's eyes burned.

"I don't know how."

"Then I'll teach you."

Megumi looked at him.

"You promise?"

Satoru smiled.

"I promise."

And he pulled Megumi into a hug, holding him close, letting him feel the warmth of his love.

And Megumi let himself be held.

Let himself be loved.

Let himself believe that maybe, just maybe, he deserved it after all.

But he didn't. Did he?. After all, wasn't he the one who killed Gojo, his dad? Do you really think you deserve it all, Megumi?. The love Gojo has for you, along with everything. Do you deserve it?.

Oh, how deeply Megumi wished he could erase himself forever.
