When Lance pulls him into an alcove on the way to the training room, Keith doesn’t push him away.
He maybe should, because it's the middle of the night and they should be resting. But the past few weeks have been a nonstop push on one of the nearby Galra bases: a lot of careful planning, several days of fighting, and the cleanup required after the liberation of the planets that’d been under the control of the base. There’d been no time for anything but business; none of their normal argumentative dynamic, no sleeping in the same beds, no quiet moments to themselves.
So maybe it’s selfish of him, but he lets himself have this, have Lance. He’d intended to go train, even though they’ve done nothing but fight and work for since they've been in this galaxy, because even if the battle’s over, the war certainly isn’t. He’s got too much pent up energy, and only one outlet for it.
Or, Keith thinks as Lance smiles at him and stoops to kiss his neck, maybe he has another option.
Five times Keith and Lance kiss and one time they don't.
