The works of Cardie-ologist/Henrietta Wotton, are being imported to the Archive of Our Own (AO3).
These were the pseudonyms of a much loved and respected member of the online Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fandom in the late 90s and early 00s. As Cardie-ologist, they contributed to zines such as Scaly Tales, and as Henrietta Wotton, they had fics that won the ASC Awards multiple times. Unfortunately, they passed away in 2025. It is thanks to friends that we are able to preserve their works for posterity.
Open Doors will be working to import the works of Cardie-ologist/Henrietta Wotton into separate memorial accounts on the Archive of Our Own.
We will begin importing works by Cardie-ologist/Henrietta Wotton to AO3 after September. You will find them on the Cardieologist_Memorial and HenriettaWotton_Memorial accounts.
We'd also love it if fans could help us preserve the stories of Cardie-ologist and Henrietta Wotton on Fanlore. If you're new to wiki editing, no worries! Check out the new visitor portal, or ask the Fanlore Gardeners for tips.
We're honored to be able to help preserve the works of Cardie-ologist and Henrietta Wotton, and while we mourn the loss of both of them, we also realize that we are fortunate that they had a friend who was given permission to collect and preserve their works on AO3 so that they will not be lost. If you are interested in preserving the works of a friend in fandom and are able to acquire permission to do so, we welcome you to contact us to set up a similar archive memorializing their fannish legacy.
