Venus grew up in the Nara Period of an ancient Japanese village in the Hidden City. She learned to fight and become a fierce warrior.
At thirteen she joined the Hidden City’s army as they fought the evil mystics who threatened to destroy their home but Venus was critically injured by an evil Yokai General and left to die.
Just when Venus thought she wouldn’t make it a mystic healer found her and took her away to safety nursing her back to health but Venus’s wounds were still too bad for her to survive so the mystic healer gave up her powers to Venus in order to save her life.
The mystic healer was left weak and powerless but she had saved Venus’s life. Venus thanked her and told the mystic that she would be forever in her debt.
Venus then traveled back to her village only to find it had been destroyed and her family killed. In Venus’s sorrow and rage she swore to kill whoever had done this to her home and family. She then took of across the land to find the wrong doers.
Years later at sixteen she found the evil mystics who had killed her village but they had repented and given up their evil ways.
Her whole life Venus had believed people could change but looking into the mystics eyes that belief vanished, she murdered them all. When she left their village, she was covered in the blood of the mystics and her own tears.
She found a river and washed herself off but her sadness still stayed. She wandered the lands for a year until she returned to the mystic healer. Venus begged the healer to take away the powers she had given her. Saying it had caused her to do horrible things.
The healer replied that it is the person who wields the magic that has the fault not the magic itself. Venus then said if the healer would not do it then she would do it herself. Using her magic she attempted to extract it from her body but she failed and ended up putting herself into a deep cryogenic state, her age and body persevered.
One-thousand-eighty-three years later in 2020 Venus awoke from her slumber, not knowing who she once was or the powers she possessed, only her name stuck with her.
She was all alone in the healer’s temple. Venus searched the ancient fortress looking for something to tell her who she was but found nothing. Eventually she came to a stop at an old mirror. She was shocked by her reflection not remembering what she looked like.
Venus went out to touch the mirror only to find it was a portal in between the surface world and Yokai kingdom. The mirror portal yanked her into the New York.
She was quite terrified by this. She wandered the surface world searching for answers but just found stray cats and vicious silverfish. Finally she grew tired and leaned against a trash can.
Closing her eyes she fell asleep only to be awoken moments later by someone gently shaking her awake. Her eyes opened focusing on a teenage turtle like her. He wore a blue mask, had green skin, a large shell, and had similar markings.
He turned to another turtle standing above him who wore an orange mask and a large shell as well. “Told ya he was alive. You owe me twenty bucks.” He said grinning at the orange masked turtle.
“Who are you?” Venus said, touching the his blue masked face in amazement, feeling safe now that she had found someone who looked like her.
“Uhhh...Leo.” He said, quickly pulling away from her hands.
“Leo, I think that he is a she.” The orange masked turtle said.
“Well duh. You still owe me twenty dollars, Mikey.” Leo replied.
“No I don’t. You said if he was alive not if she was alive.” Mikey answered smugly.
Leo glared at him then turned back to Venus. “What’s your name.”
“My name’s Venus.”
“Like the planet?” Leo asked, making a funny face.
“Maybe. Where am I?” Venus asked, still a bit mesmerized by Leo.
“New York. Can you stand?”
“I think so.” Venus said getting to her feet but ultimately falling on top of Leo, who looked extremely embarrassed while Mikey clicked a photo of the incident.
“Mikey, you better delete that right now!” Leo hissed.
“Or what?”
“Snitches get stitches.” Leo replied searching for a trash can lid to hit his little brother with.
“Sorry. I’m just really tired.” Venus said pulling herself away from Leo.
“It’s fine.” Leo said but straightened himself rather awkwardly.
“Do you need a doctor or something?” Mikey asked Venus.
“What’s a doctor?”
Leo and Mikey exchanged looks.
“Come with us. Our brother Donnie can check you out.” Leo said reaching for her hand.
“Wait? We’re just gonna take her home with us?” Mikey said stopping Leo.
“The sun is almost up. We can’t just leave her up here all on her own.”
