Rain wasn't answering his phone.
Worried, Sky watched the downpour outside of his dorm window, wondering where his friend was and what he was doing. Judging by his absent-minded behavior leading up to their final project, he was likely with P'Phayu and yet...
He jumped when his phone rang, rushing over to see if it was his best friend, confirming that he was fine. He trusted P'Phayu, he really did, but...
… instead, he frowned, staring at the name that flashed across his screen instead.
P'Prapai.
Biting his lip, he debated answering or declining the call. Ever since their first night together - which Sky didn't regret, no matter how some elements reminded him of the past - the older man insisted on always being around him and wishing to date him. Surely... though... surely, that was solely because he didn't know how broken Sky was, right?
He chuckled, shaking his head as his finger however of the screen. If Rain knew... well, his best friend would certain give him a look and ask him why he was denying the affections of a man who treated him far better than his ex ever had but he didn't know. And he never would. That was a dark side of relationships Sky would protect him from as long as he could. As he was thinking about that, the call cut off but he didn't have much time before his Phi called back, ensuring Rain couldn't reach him even if he wanted to...
… he had to believe in P'Phayu.
With shaky hands, Sky pressed the answer button.
"Asshole, what do you...?"
"I'm right outside!" his Phi actually giggled, causing his eyes to widen as he stared at his front door. "Don't worry, no one saw me!"
"That's not the point!" he hissed, cutting the call before rushing to the door to open it and, indeed, there he was. "What will it take for you to finally...!"
"Sky."
Just the simple use of his name caused him to freeze, staring at the slightly taller man with a hint of fear in his eyes. He knew that tone all too well and still, it felt different. Something felt out of place and he couldn't explain it...
"P-P'Pai..."
He knew he screwed up the moment Prapai's eyes widened in what could only be shock with a hint of... no, he wasn't reading too much into it, he absolutely was, there was no way P'Prapai would want someone so damaged like him...
Sky failed to realize that tears began to gather in his eyes as Prapai closed the door behind before placing his hands on his cheeks, gently rubbing them in what seemed like a calming gesture.
"It's okay... shhh... I'm here for you, don't worry. I will always be here for you, Sky, even if you tell me to stay away now..."
Choking back on a sob, he collapsed in the taller man's warm embrace, closing his eyes.
Maybe, just for now, he could pretend that his P'Pai loved him, cared for him. It made him feel warm, safe, cherished...
… even it was all a dream, he wished to continue dreaming.
Sky never wanted to wake up.
