The best Christmas ever💙💛

Chapter Text

CHAPTER 7:
Will so desperately wanted to talk to Mike about the moment they shared just earlier that day. Did it mean something? Or was it just a normal thing friends did? No of course not! Friends didn’t kiss!

-Mike’s POV-
I was dying to talk to Will about what happened. I tried but nothing came out of mouth. Well, not anything related anyway. Just sentences that made no sense. I just wanted to talk to Will, to hear his voice. The voice I’d missed so much while he was gone. I needed to say something if I wanted to hear him speak. What could I possibly talk about though? It was so awkward…
“Hey Will?” I whispered.
He didn’t answer.
“Will…?” I said again.
I couldn’t really see because it was so dark but I could hear slight breathing. Will was asleep. Dang it…

INT-MIKE’S BEDROOM 9:30am

-still Mike’s POV-
The light was coming through my curtains. It woke me up. I felt my eyes open slightly. I looked ahead of me. Will was just there in front of me. Sleeping still. I could hear him breathing. His hair was kinda messy. I liked it. I wished he was awake. I wanted to talk to him.
I just smiled and looked at him, looked at his pretty face.
I don’t know how long I was staring at him for but I saw his eyelashes tilt and his eyes slowly open.
“Hi Will…” I said, softly.
He opened his eyes and sat up. He yawned and stretched. I was still looking at him. He looked perfect, even when he was just waking up. He turned his head towards me. He smiled, a pretty smile.
“Hi” he said, in his morning voice.
“Did you hum… sleep well?” I asked.
“Yes. And you?”
“Yeah.”
“Cool.”
Interesting conversation… Although we weren’t saying much, just the feeling of hearing his voice was amazing to me. He took his blanket off and got out of bed. He looked out of the window.
“Mike! It’s snowing!” he said, excited.
I ran to the window. It really was snowing. But not normal snow. This was beautiful snow. Snowflakes everywhere.
“Wow! It’s beautiful!”
“Let’s go outside!” he suggested.
“But Will we just got up…” I said, moaning.
“So? Come on Mike don’t be a grumpy teenager.” he said, laughing.
“Fine…” I said, smiling.
Anything that made Will happy would make me happy. Will ran out of the room.
“Hum Will aren’t you forgetting something?” I said with a laugh.
Will turned round and came running back.
“Oh yeah, I maybe need to put some warmer clothes on if we’re going in the snow.”
Will laughed, I like it when he laughs. It’s a nice sound.

-Will’s POV-
I got my warm clothed out of suitcase. I took my - I mean Mike’s - jumper off and the pyjama top after too. I put my clean clothes on and turned around to get my trousers. I looked up. Mike was there. He was looking at me. I felt my stomach drop and my cheeks starting to get redder than red. Mike realised that I saw he was staring at me. He quickly turned his head the other way.
“I know you were looking at me Mike” I said with a slight smile.
He looked embarrassed. Mike was usually the brave one, not the shy one. It’s like the roles had been switched.
“I-I was just-I wasn’t…” he said, sliding a hand through his hair.
“Get changed. I want to go in the snow.” I said, throwing a jumper at him that was sitting on his chair.
I put my clean and warm trousers on and left Mike’s room so he could have a little privacy while getting changed. A few minutes later Mike came out of his room. He looked good in his winter clothes.
“I like your hum… outfit.” I said.
“Thanks” he said, blushing. “You look great too…”
We looked at each other, awkwardly but… nicely.
“Shall we grab some breakfast and go in the snow then?” suggested Mike.
“Yeah…” I said.

-Mike’s POV-
Will walked downstairs and I followed him.
“Hey boys I’ve made breakfast for you!” said Mom.
“Thanks” Will said, grabbing a biscuit. “These are lovely, Mrs Wheeler.”
“You’re welcome Will.” she said.
We quickly ate up our Christmas cookies and went outside.
Will ran off and sat in the garden snow. I ran towards him.
“I love this snow!” he said, lying down in it.
“Hey Will hum… Don’t you wanna go somewhere else? For a little more I don’t know…privacy.”
Will didn’t say anything. Had I said something wrong…? Yes! Why did I say that…?!
“Sure” said Will, smiling.
“I know the perfect place.” I said.
He came and stood next to me and took my hand. His hand was warmer than mine. It was nice.
“Where are we going?” he asked
“It’s a surprise.”
I pulled him and starting walking away from my house. We were running. It was kind of difficult to do in the snow but I didn’t care. I was with Will and that made me happy. Eventually, we got to the place we wanted. I stood behind Will and placed my hands on his face to cover up his eyes.
“Mike, Mike what are you doing?” he asked, his voice full of laughter.
“It’s for the surprise… I’ll tell you when you can open them. Don’t worry I’m guiding your steps.”
A few minutes later I slightly took my hands of Will’s face and an arm around him instead. Will looked at what was in front of him.
“Mike… You… You did this for me…? You rebuilt Castle Byers?”
“Yes of course. It was my fault you destroyed it in the first place Will… I felt so guilty about it. I decided to rebuild it - I know it’s not perfect - and just come here and think about you… I really missed you Will you know…”
Will smiled at me. I Ioved seeing him smile. It was something I missed out last year due to my selfish behaviour.
“I was such an idiot Will - to you and everyone else… I needed to make up for it.”
“Mike… That’s… “ said Will, putting his hands around mine. “It’s really nice of you Mike. It must’ve taken you ages to rebuild…”
“I didn’t care about that Will. You’re the only one I… cared about.
Will blushed and placed his head on my shoulder. He had grown a lot since last time but I was still the tallest! I wrapped my arms around him. He looked up at me.
“Hey do you wanna go inside Castle Byers?” I asked. “It’s solid.”
“Sure” he said.
I took his hand and I followed him into the chill out spot.
“You even put pillows here!” he said, with a gigantic grin.
“Yep.” I said, sitting on one of them.
Will sat next to me on the other pillow. He grabbed my hand.
“I’m really thankful for this Mike.” he said.
“It’s normal, Will. I… I love you.”
Will smiled and put his head down. He grinned. I put his hand under his chin and brought it up.
“I love you too Mike.” he said.
“Really?” I asked.
“Of course! I mean it was pretty obvious no?” he said, with a slight laugh.
“I guess it was” I said, smiling.
I looked into Will’s eyes. I love his eyes. After a few seconds of hesitation I decided to say what was on my chest
“Do you wanna… you know… You remember - what happened yesterday…?” I asked.
Will didn’t give me chance to finish. He put his hands around my waist and pressed his lips on mine. I closed my eyes. It was like I was living a dream. I love Will. For real. We broke the kiss and breathed. We laughed.
“Do you wanna play in the snow then?” I asked. “That was why we came out here in the first place.”
“Yes let’s go!” he said, taking my hand and taking me out of Castle Byers.
He made a snowball and threw it at me. It landed in my face.
“Oh sorry Mike! I didn’t mean for it to go in your face…” said Will, apolitically.
“I’m getting revenge!” I said, making a snow ball of my own and throwing it at him.
Will wiped it of his coat and came running at me making me fall over in the snow. We both laughed. I love Will’s laugh… We moved our arms and legs making snow angels. I turned and looked at Will. His cheeks were rosy from the cold.
“I love you Will” I said.
Will came closer to me and lay his head on my chest. I wrapped my arms around him.
“I love you too Mike. So much…”
He sat up and pressed his lips on mine again. I slid my hands through his hair. It was full of snowflakes.
As we parted I looked up into the sky. The snow was falling all over us.
“Thanks Will…” I said.
“Thank me? For what?” he asked.
“For giving me the best Christmas ever.” I said as I hugged him once again.
It was the best Christmas ever. And it was only Christmas Eve… It wasn’t even over yet.

-the end-
