Mike gets telepathic powers randomly, three years after Vecna’s defeat. He tunes into people’s thoughts, expecting every guy’s mind to be like his. When he finds surprisingly few gay thoughts about best friends, he’s forced to re-evaluate and see if maybe it’s just him? (it is.)
It doesn’t help that the one mind he wants to read the most seems to be set to a different frequency entirely.

Will knew he had a problem. An embarrassingly serious problem called “A massive crush on his straight best friend.” It was driving Will mad, really. But if that wasn’t enough, he had been caught in another problem, the “He can’t stop drawing his very straight best friend naked” kind.

Will draws his best friend nude, a lot. But no one has to ever know. Until, accidentally, he sends a letter to said best friend using one of the drawings he had done as the paper.
What is his shock when he receives a letter with a Polaroid replicating his drawing and a very suggestive story about their dnd characters.

Summary
The terrible, awful thing about finally getting what he wanted — namely, Mike — is that now he wants more, the selfish creature that he is. When he was younger, he’d been able to convince himself that kissing Mike, just once, would be enough to last him a lifetime. Foolishly, he’d thought that he could relish that single kiss and live a peaceful life, one where Mike was still his friend and nothing changed but his feelings would dissipate.
Instead, they grew; they’re still growing, Will fears, growing bigger and bigger each time Mike and him get together, because every sound Mike makes when Will kisses him makes Will want to find ten more little gasps and whines and groans, and each time Mike twists their fingers together and pants against his skin Will thinks about how much better it is than the time before.
will and mike are - something, and will's not entirely sure what. whatever they are, he wants more, but he's not sure if he can have it.

Mike stuffs his hands in his pockets as he waits for the door to swing open. When it finally does, his tense shoulders relax a little at the face that appears on the other side.
Joyce’s eyes widen in surprise when she sees him. Her inquisitive gaze makes him feel small, standing hunched over on her porch in the dim afternoon light. He must look pathetic— like a dog that’s been left out in the rain. “Mike,” she says, her voice laced with mock-cheer. He wishes she would just cut the act already. Kick him to the curb like she clearly wants to. “I wasn’t expecting you.”
