Chapter Text
“What the fuck?” Stede exclaims upon walking into the shop. “What’s going on here?”
“Renovation!” Roach says, smiling. “You just standing there to look pretty, or are you going to pitch in?”
“And you…” Lucius comes around the counter. “Are Edward Teach.” He takes Ed’s hand to shake it. “Nice to put a face to the name.”
“The pleasure’s all mine.” Ed replies.
“We all saw you baking out there!” Roach says. “And just so you know, we’ve all forgiven you for the phone call. Who wants a drink?”, then walks back into the kitchen before anyone else can answer.
As the crew claps and cheers, Stede goes over to Ed, and says, “But in the spirit of honesty, if it wasn’t for Buttons' secret ingredient, we never would’ve stood a chance.”
“That’s right!” Ed agrees, nodding. “What the devil was in that, anyhow?”
“Vatten.” The Swede replies, making Stede’s mouth drops open.
“Tell me you didn’t just say water, mate.” Ed can’t believe it either. “I tasted it. That was no water.”
Then the crew all recited together, with Lucius and Peter leaning against each other,
“E iti noa ana na te aroha.”
“Though the gift be small…” Stede turns to look at Ed, who picks it up from there.
“It is given with love.”
This time Ed takes the lead in pulling Stede in for a kiss, giggling as they go.
1 year later
Stede and Ed stand on the first-place podium with Samuel, Gold Medals around their necks as they hold up their newly won trophy from a very long and grueling World Pastry Cup.
Until suddenly, Stede gets down on one knee, and presents Ed with a butterfly round cut sterling silver ring.
Stede hasn’t even gotten the question out before Ed’s pulling him back up to his feet and kissing his answer into his mouth, hard.
1 More Year Later
The grooms kiss as the four of them are all pronounced married, to a round of thunderous applause.
