She had been nervous, she was afraid that nobody would think that they were actually dating. And she had been thinking about kissing Rio, what if she would completely suck at it and afterwards he would tell her to forget about their plan? She wished that she had more experience, but sadly she had only kissed Dean so far. She had been grateful when Rio had kissed her cheek instead, and she had found his gesture so sweet. His future ( not fake) girlfriend would surely be one lucky girl!
She had known that Rio won't be by her side the entire night, and that Dean would try to talk to her as soon as she would be alone. But just because she had mentally prepared herself for it didn't mean that she was ready to talk to him. She was mostly angry at herself for being so naïve and thinking that he had treated her right, when in fact he had been such a shitty boyfriend. She was so grateful that she had listened to Ruby, otherwise she would have definitely ended up marrying that jerk and having like 4 kids with him. Yikes!
One thing she noticed was the fact that Linda was nowhere to be seen, which was strange. You would have imagined that she would have been all over Dean, trying to get back at Beth and making Rio jealous.
While she was waiting for Rio to bring their drinks she was approached by Dean. It seemed like he wasn't a fan of small talk, because he jumped straight to the point. " Really, Bethie? With him of all people??"
" I don't see why that's any of your business, Dean. We are not together anymore. Not to mention that you came here with one of my friends, so go have fun with her" she smiled, so he would know that she was far from being jealous.
" I can't, she had to cancel cause she got diarrhea. And I only asked her to be my date because I wanted to make you jealous"
Beth forced herself not to laugh when she heard what had happened to Linda. Well, well, well, wasn't karma a bitch?
" I am with Rio now, you have to accept that" that wasn’t true, but she knew that from now on she would only allow herself to be in a relationship with someone who made her feel just as good as Rio did when he was pretending to date her.
" You should be really careful about this guy, Beth, I heard some awful things about him from Karen" he would have certainly said more, but he stopped when he noticed Rio coming to join their conversation.
She had been so grateful to see Rio that she hadn't thought about it, she had just given him a peck on his lips. He had really soft lips, she couldn't help but wonder how it would feel like to kiss him properly. She was going to find that in the next 6 months, for sure.
After she had put Dean in his place she had finally been able to enjoy herself for the rest of the evening. Rio had simply been the best! He had danced with her, made her laugh so hard and he had even asked her if she was okay with the fact that he had kissed her cheek. If she wouldn’t be careful she could seriously fall in love with him, but she wasn’t going to do that. She just had to remember that this was all just pretend, he didn’t actually have romantic feelings for her.
