Chapter Text
Raph began his climb up the old lair. Raph kept zoning in and out, his vision was terrible.
Eventually, he realized he was in front of the old med bay.
The snapping turtle shook his head and began entering the room, sliding the doors to the side and stepping inside. He noticed there was barely any damage here, surprisingly, and he quickly ran towards the closest bed. Raph put Donnie on the bed and quickly took off his protective battle shell. Raph began to think back on when Leo would help his wounds.
"Wet towel.. pressure.. bandages?" He mumbled, quickly racing around the room to find bandages and a towel. Raph turned on a tap Donnie had engineered to have clean water and sighed in relief that it still worked. Raph wet the towel and walked back to Donnie carefully. When he got to Donnie, he began wiping the towel slowly over his wounds. When he finished wiping away the blood and dirt, he wiped away the water with a dry towel and tried to wrap bandages around the many wounds.
For the very slight burn scars, Raph just carefully pushed a cold wet towel on the burns and waited.
Then he wrapped bandages lightly around the burns and called it a day.
After sitting down for a decent amount of time and processing his emotions, Raph decided he should probably find something to monitor Donnie's heartbeat.
Raph glanced around at the tech in the room, quickly remembering the old health bands Donnie had made for the brothers ages ago. Raph stood up and hesitantly left the room, assuming Donnie's lab would be the best place to check. Raph wandered to his left and found himself right by Donnies lab.
"I forgot how close these two rooms were." Raph sighed, glancing around first then walking through the shattered sliding doors. Raph had not seen this room for months. It had a bunch of broken neon purple lights, and it was decently big, even with a huge... uh.. machine? In the middle. Just like the med bay.
Raph was surprised just how little was broken.
Stepping over sone rubble, Raph walked over to a cabinet. The destroyed label said 'O-d te-h'. And though two letters were unreadable, Raph guessed it said 'old tech'. Raph opened the cabinet and scrounge around a bit before finding five of the monitors. Two of them were broken, and three of them were working. Donnie, April, and Mikey, those were the working ones.
Raph stared at the names of his dead brother and best friend. His arms were shaking. He was too worried about Donnie to think about them. Which yes, sounds dramatic, but when you're rushing your dying brother to a place with medical supplies, you're using thinking about saving your brother. The turtle's breathing began quickening, and he crumbled to the floor, tears rolling down. Everything was shaking, and he felt dizzy. Raph could only sob though, for how could he have forgotten his own brothers were now dead?
Raph could barely breathe.
So, soon enough, his vision disappeared, and he went quiet.
Raph found himself on the floor, practically choking on his own saliva. The turtle leaped up, coughing. It had been a while since he had passed out from a.. nevermind about that. Raph breathed in and out for a few extra seconds, stopping to grab his stuff. He got up carefully and picked up the dropped bands. He also snatched a nearby cloth and put the three bands in it, tying it up to keep it closed. Raph closed the cabinet before turning away to leave, but a small bing quickly stopped him in his tracks. What was that noise? Raph wondered anxiously, turning around to see a cloth covering a glowing purple.. thing.
Raph hesitantly stepped towards it and lifted the cloth, jumping back in case it was a bomb.
You could never be too careful with Donnie's tech, honestly.
But Raph was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't a bomb, it was S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N!
Wait, wasn't he destroyed? Was Donnie rebuilding him? Raph thought, confused. The turtle then quickly picked up the machine and realized it was plugged in.
The snapping turtle unplugged S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N so he'd be easier to carry, but after freeing the mechanical turtle from its cable prison, the robot made a loud noise. Raph yelped, accidentally dropping S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N because of the sudden noise. His eyes grew wide.
"Wait!" Raph yelled, reaching his arms out quickly to try catch the robot. Raph closed his eyes as he braced for the machine to smash onto the ground.
Nothing.
Only silence.
Well, except for.. motors?
.. Wait!
Raph opened his eyes, almost stumbling back in shock as he realized S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N was floating in front of him. His only friend wasn't dead! Not yet!
The turtle audibly gasped happily. "S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N!" Raph smiled, hugging the robot, who was just staring blankly forwards at him.
"Err.. uhh.. Raphael?" S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N finally spoke. Raph only sobbed.
Finally, someone to talk to that he knew! He wouldn't be alone!
"I know it's been a while, but why are you sobbing?
Where's Dee? And Angelo?" S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N asked, seemingly having a million questions. Raph pushed back from the hug; his eyes full of tears as he coughed out a reply. "Everyone is gone, S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N, and Donnie is in a coma or something." He sniffed, trying to wipe the tears away, but failing terribly.
The purple flying robot paused, seemingly stunned. "Th-that's craazzzy..?" S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N mumbled, glancing around.
"Wait, this is Donnie's lab, and he's not like, anywhere- you're not having a freak out, this is actually happening, isn't it?" Raph nodded, finally clearing his eyes.
S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N stayed silent and flew off somewhere into the room, opening a drawer and pulling something out. S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N flew back to Raph, very low to the ground and slowly, dropping a large book at Raph's legs.
Raph sniffed before turning the book over with little struggle and looking at the title of the book curiously.
"Donnie's instructions for every possibility... heh.." Raph read aloud, smiling at the end and laughing through his tears. Of course Donnie had written an entire book about to do for every possibly situation.
It was stupid, absolutely stupid, but totally his style, and totally something he'd do.
Raph easily picked it up and stood up. "Let's go back to Donnie, S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N." The mutant chuckled, feeling a bit better knowing he wasn't alone.
The robot turtle nodded and followed after Raph as he pushed the sliding door open a bit wider, and the two left.
