Chapter Text
It started with a coincidence.
The couple’s first night together just so happened to coincide with an impromptu squad efficiency report. As the senior vice captain, Langris took charge.
The usually strict, grumpy, and ‘no nonsense’ man was a lot more lenient and patient. The squad’s scores were surprisingly fair and everyone was convinced an elf must have possessed their vice captain again. But no, it was the same old Langris- or, rather, an uncharacteristically good tempered Langris.
The situation went over Yuno’s head despite having Klaus freak out at his own perfect score. Yes, Klaus deserved a perfect score. But did he ever get one? Absolutely not. He always managed to tick off Langris in some way or the other to validate a point reduction.
Yuno didn’t think much of it.
That is, until it happened again.
This time, it was a meeting that Captain Vangeance had with the other Squad captains where he was authorised to bring along his two vice captains. It surprised them both as they had assumed they'd have the day off, hence why Yuno went to Langris’s room the previous night.
At the get together after the meeting, instead of his usual tuts and sly remarks, Langris was polite and greeted the other vice captains. He even managed not to make any remarks about being in the same room as peasants when Asta came over to get a drink. Asta just seemed to always come along despite not being a vice captain.
Yuno wouldn’t let something like this get past him twice. He knew something was up, especially since Asta was being especially messy that day. After some deliberation (and a small detour where he thought it was the suspicious yellow tart that made his boyfriend act that way before concluding that that wasn't the case) Yuno finally understood.
And once Yuno discovered this power, he knew, with all the seriousness that was completely unjustified, that he had to use it for the good of his squad.
After the third time his boyfriend became horny around meetings and get-togethers, Langris understood what was happening. He wasn’t complaining though. Sure, it was a little insulting, but whatever got his usually stoic boyfriend going was fine with him.
Over time the more friendly atmosphere surrounding the Golden Dawn made everyone more pumped and excited. They liked the new Langris, and everyone had a sneaking suspicion it was thanks to the new co vice captain. What were once dreaded meetings and checkups, soon became a chance for the squad to prove themselves and actually get evaluated with kinder words.
Even Alecdora was coloured impressed.
Nothing escaped Captain Vangeance, of course, who knew exactly what was happening. A small smile managed to escape onto his face every time he saw a grumpy Langris return less grumpy a few hours later.
And that’s the story of how the Golden Dawn prospered under its two co vice captains.
