Chapter Text

“I hate vacation homework,” Geurami groaned, leaning back in Junho’s desk chair as Youngwoo glanced up at her from where she was sprawled over the bedroom floor with Suyeon, busy playing find the difference on Junho’s ipad with her chin propped onto her hand.

“Who told you to start it today? We have a whole two months ahead of us. Plus Youngwoo will get us through,” Suyeon said, sighing and glancing at Youngwoo who she was sure wasn’t even listening to the conversation.

“Woah, no, foul Minwoo!” Junho yelled from the bed, trying to push him away as Minwoo nudged back at him with his elbow, trying to knock him off the track on the television screen as he fought to get to the finish line before him.

“Day one of vacations and I am b-o-r-e-d,” Geurami announced, getting up from her seat. “You all are no fun. Yah Youngwoo, stop it or your eyes will go cross,” she said, grabbing the ipad away from her friend who made a noise of protest, sitting up and reaching for it.

“Let’s watch a movie,” Geurami pleaded, holding the ipad out of her reach. “Please. Please ?”

“Okay. Can we-” Youngwoo started to ask brightly and Suyeon shook her head, clasping her hands together in front of her before Youngwoo could complete her sentence.

“No please, no documentaries. No whales and dolphins and seals and oceans and nature okay? Anything else. Anything else.”

“Horror movie,” Kang-dae suggested from where he was lying on the bed with the blanket draped over his face and arms thrown over his head.

“Yes,” Geurami agreed with glee, glancing at Junho and Minwoo who were still fighting over the game, fingers pressing and moving over the controllers as she jumped over Youngwoo and went to stand in front of the tv, flailing her arms around wildly and blocking the view, ignoring their protests until she heard the familiar sound of a crash and the game ended.

“I was winning!” Minwoo yelled, throwing a pillow at her in frustration which she dodged expertly, flopping onto the bed beside him with a sigh. “Win tomorrow. We need better entertainment.” She motioned to Youngwoo and Suyeon who got up and joined her on the bed, Geurami pulling Youngwoo down with an arm around her neck and grinning at her. “Come on Youngwoo-yah, let’s take your horror movie virginity tonight.”

“Why can’t she see that woman standing behind her without looking into a mirror? It doesn’t make sense,” Youngwoo announced from where she was curled up against Junho’s chest as he peeked over the pillow he had held in front of his face, squinting at the screen.

“Look the ghost is coming closer,” Suyeon said, unconsciously leaning forward in her place as Minwoo yelped and pulled her back, upsetting the bowl of popcorn in her lap all over the bed. “She is not coming through the screen at me!” Suyeon exclaimed, swatting him away irritatedly. “How are you such a wimp?”

“Bet she is gonna strangle the husband first,” Geurami added, glancing at her boyfriend who was long asleep with his head in her lap as she tugged a pillow beneath his head to angle him into a more comfortable position and Youngwoo had it on the tip of her tongue to retort that a ghost couldn't strangle anyone since it wasn't able to touch things but she refrained at the last moment.

An hour later, Youngwoo was struggling to keep her eyes open, hand coming up to her mouth to stifle a yawn as she tugged the blankets closer in an attempt to preserve the warmth. She glanced sleepily at the other four who were long asleep, Geurami against the headboard while Suyeon was clutching onto her leg in her sleep, sprawled over Minwoo.

“Junho-yah, we should probably sleep too,” she mumbled, nudging her half asleep boyfriend who hummed in response, groping around for the remote before he paused the movie, removing the blankets from over them so he and Youngwoo could get up from the bed. It was a task to drag the two boys onto the mattresses laid out on the floor so the girls could take the bed but they managed between the both of them, Youngwoo tucking in Geurami and Suyeon carefully so as not to wake them up while Junho haphazardly threw a blanket over the boys.

“Step out with for a moment,” Junho whispered, holding out a hand to Youngwoo who accepted it, stepping over the sleeping boys as he led her out into the balcony, Youngwoo shivering slightly at the chill in the night air.

“The sky is pretty at night,” Junho added softly from behind, draping a blanket over her shoulders and she hummed in response, enjoying the quiet at the odd hour of the night.

“Were you bored right now?” Junho asked nonchalantly, resting his arms on the railing and gazing out.

“Ani. The movie was…really bad,” he chuckled lightly at the words, “-but I had fun. Thank you.”

“For what?” he asked, glancing at her with curious eyes.

“For everything. For giving me a great school year. When we moved here, I was prepared for the same things I had experienced all my life to repeat yet again but I was determined to hold out as long as I could because I didn’t want appa to be worried about me. I never expected…to get all of this though. Friends, like I always longed for. Someone who would finally like me for how I really am and accept me for me. Not having people play the sorry game on me anymore.”

“I love you,” Junho interrupted, gentle hand coming to caress her cheek. “I love you Woo Youngwoo. In fact we all do. And if people couldn't love you till now for what you are, it was their loss. Thank you for coming into my life.”

“Thank you for letting me be a part of your world,” Youngwoo whispered, resting her head against his shoulder as his arms wrapped around her from behind. “And for loving me.”

“I’ll love you for however long I can,” Junho promised, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “I know it sounds silly right now and we are still young but I also know I’ll always love you. Until it's possible,” and Youngwoo smiled at the words, turning to glance at her friends inside the bedroom before she reached up on her tiptoes to press her lips to Junho’s, sealing his promise with a kiss.
