After Kate’s announcement about the dinner plans everyone went to their separate rooms in order to rest for a while.
Kate was now feeling even more nervous than before; in a couple of hours she will propose to the love of her life.
The woman who came to her life as a tornado for say the least. She walks into her life to completely change all of it. There was nothing in the whole world that Kate wouldn't do for Yelena. She was her rock, her safe space. In the latest years they have learned from each other, always making them better, always supporting each other. Although that was not always the case.
It's safe to say that Yelena had more crazy ideas than Kate. For instance the last idea was to get Sam to agree to help her build some wings for her. In theory that was not a bad idea, they had Stark tech and Tony himself to help, but of course Lena had other plans.
The only reason she wanted the wings was to challenge Tommy, Wanda’s son to race her. Or take Fanny and Lucky for a full, something that Kate did not agree on.
Another idea was to get a spider shooter to play with Peter all over the compound, all this of course leaving all kinds of damage all over the place. That one actually didn’t last long since it was Tony this time to make them stop, give them homework and obviously make them clean everything. All this little moment in Kate's life had made her fall in love even more. Now that she is standing right in front of her, she has the idea of just asking her already, why waste more time? But Kate knows why, Yelena deserves more, the perfect proposal or as perfect as Kae can achieve it.
“Do you want to take a nap moya lyubov'?. You look a little tired and maybe it will help you, also I want cuddles” Yelena started showing more affection towards everyone, not just Kate, this has been happening for a few years now.
She has regular outings with Nat for some sister time, which also gives Natasha the opportunity to build an even stronger relationship with the family she didn’t know wanted and needed it.
“I think a nap will be the best idea babe but first I need to tell you something”
Yelena felt a pinch of hurt in the pit of her stomach. Fear, a sentiment that was very present in her life. She won't admit to anyone but she constantly imagines that this is just a dream. That her life is not real. Like Vision once told her, there is more than one universe and maybe this is not her own, maybe she is living someone else’s dream life.
“Baby? Are you ok?” Kate was looking at her worried because even without talking she knew that Yelena’s mind was racing. “Hey, look at me, there is nothing wrong, I'm sorry I shouldn’t have said it like that” Kate reached to grab her hands and that made Yelena relax instantly.
“Alright my love, please tell me, what is going on in that beautiful head of yours” Kate let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding it in.
“You know what babe? I was so sure that I knew what I wanted to say, but now I lost all words”. Kate got very nervous and couldn’t remember how she wanted to express all of it. “I have a better idea baby, give me a minute”.
The best way that Kate had to express her feelings at this moment and most of the time when she felt overwhelmed about anything, was music. Music was her love language, she could find a song for anything she might be thinking or even write her own music.
Yelena was looking at her puzzle, she looked at her while she stepped out of the room and then coming back with one of her guitars, what made her smile so big her eyes began to fill with tears.
“Come on baby, I haven't even started and you are looking at me like that already?” Kate was trying to light the mood but mostly for her own sanity and control.
“It’s being to long since you sing me something Kate, this is the best and control reaction I could give you, but I can't promise I would stay in control once you start, you know I'm your #1 fan”.
Yelena gave her a kiss on her cheek.
“This one was playing on my mind the moment I met you. Yes even on the roof while I almost shoot an arrow at you” She was getting everything ready while talking to Lena.
“Really? In the middle of everything you were thinking of music?
“Well what can I say baby, you stole my heart since the first punch” Kate was now winking at Yelena which made the spy blush.
It was now time to pour her heart to her the same way she has done it for years now. No amount of time will be enough to let Yelena know how much she loves her, but she will try every day.

(Flashback to 2 Years ago)
“Lena you can't keep doing this, you can't treat me like that ever again. I get it that you are upset but I am not your punching bag to let everything out” Kate was so hurt by Yelena’s words that she was sure that was the last time they were going to be in the same room ever again.
“Kate Bishop, don't be so dramatic, I was just telling you how I felt. I thought you say I could trust you with anything” Yelena was not looking at her, she was avoiding Kate's eyes as much as possible, since deep down she knew she did hurt Kate.
“That is the problem Yelena, you don't see it!. You don't realize what your words do to people, how you can break them in a second! And the worst part is that you don't care. You really don't care what you say and definitely don't care about me, you don't even realize that I …”
Kate was so tired of the same fight, always trying to understand that Yelena didn’t know better. She knew that the red room took her will and more but she was so sure at times there was some kind of progress in the black widow that could mean there was a chance they could become something more. But this time once again, Yelena proved her wrong, once again her heart was broken.
“What Kate? That you hate me? That you can't be near me. I know that and I know I don't deserve you. I wish I could explain to you what I feel when I say all these things. I need you to believe me that I don't want to hurt you, not now , not ever, I want to die every time I see your beautiful eyes filled with tears”.It was the first time that Yelena was this honest with her and Kate’s and she was starting to panic.

“Then help me understand, why? Just told me what I can do to make it better, there has to be something I could do. Because I don't think I keep doing this Lena, I'm sorry". Tears were now all over Kate’s face. She was so in love with Yelena for a long while now and not being able to tell her, show her, it was consuming her.

“You can be so clueless sometimes Bishop, I may be mean and definitely not know how to express myself but the fact that until this day you still haven't realized that even when I'm the worst person in the whole planet I would never hurt you”. Yelena was now racing her voice at Kate while looking straight at her.
“Then what is it, Yelena?! Why do you want to push me away? Is that it? You want me far away from your life, nowhere near you, then fine! I'm leaving and you will never see me again!”.
Yelena didn’t need more than those words; ones that will hunt for the rest of her life if she didn’t stop Kate before she reached the door.
"Katherine Elizabeth Bishop! I love you! I love you baby hawk, I love you like I have never done it before, because literally I haven't ever done it. You are my first love, and I'll be the luckiest person ever if I am your only one, but that's a talk for another day¨. Yelena was so nervous she didn’t notice that she was rambling a little.
“̈Please Kate, don’t give up on me, you are the only one that knows me, the only one that can see through it all. You can destroy me and put me back together, you are my biggest strength and my biggest weakness¨.

The memories keep flashing in Kate’s mind while singing to Yelena.
“There are more than one thing that makes me love you Yelena” Kate was still standing in front of the door, but didn't let go of the doorknob. “But timing is not one of your fortes and sometimes love is not enough” She slowly turned to face Yelena, who was clearly at the verge of a mental breakdown.
“Do you have any idea how many days, weeks! of the last few years I have waited and waited for you to say those words to me?. Years Yelena, years!. And now you decide to say it so I wont leave? That is so low even for a cold heart killer”.
Kate was so hurt that wasn’t even trying to see past her pain, she couldn’t see that Yelena was being as honest as she could be right now.

“No Kate! That's not what's happening. I have had this feeling for a long time now, I even talk to Nat about it, Wanda also. Even Clint! and you know we don't get along at all!. Kate please look at me”.
Yelena starts walking toward a very angry and confused Hawkeye.
“If that is not enough proof that what I am telling you is real, then maybe this will be”. Yelena took a big breath and took Kate’s hands with her own.
“I don't know anything about love, or letting people into my little bubble, like you say. I try so hard to make you see that I change, that you change me. But just like most of the things I told you they don't make sense and also I know I'm very bad at showing it. There is nothing I wouldn't do for you, there is nothing in this whole world I wouldn't get for you. You made me feel, you made me want to be better, you made me cry, you made me smile. You are so annoying at times that I can't deal with it, but the moment I think about not having you in my life I stop breathing. You are my air Kate”.
Kate was speechless, this was everything she ever dreamed, what she wanted for so long and now that she could see it, there were no words.
“I can't promise you that I would know what to do most of the time but if you let me I will do my best and more every day. Please Kate, say something”. At this point Yelena was shaking, just looking at her trying to get any kind of response or sound from Kate.
“You have me at Kate Elizabeth Bishop”.
And just like that Kate stepped forward and kissed Yelena, not a passionate one, but one that could maybe show Yelena just how much she loved her and how much she had waited for it.

As Kate finishes singing and her mind getting back to the present she turns her face towards the door where everyone was clapping and crying at the same time.
The twins, Nat, Wanda, Alexi and Melina were there to witness how in love Yelena looks right now. Kate put the guitar down and walked to Yelena and kissed her.
“Tonight is the night baby, tonight we will start our forever, because lo being you in this universe is not enough”
She didn’t say it out loud, but there was no need, she knew Wanda could listen to her, so she turned to look at her and then with a little wink Wanda confirmed it.
“Thank you for the clapping but now it's time to get ready everyone! We don't want to be late!”.
Kate saw everyone start moving to get going, she picked up her phone and sent a text to the group chat she had with the avengers "It's go time!”.
