Chapter Text
“Psychic?” Kenny stopped, he was trying to process what he just heard. Kyle was immediately preparing for some sort of freak out. But knowing Kenny, it never came. Instead, he ended up smiling wildly with excitement present in his voice when he spoke.
“That’s so sick!”
That was in no way the reaction Kyle was preparing for, but it’s much better than him totally freaking out. Though Kyle had no idea how he couldn’t be freaking out.
“What! Kenny, how are you so calm!”
Kenny just brushed off Kyles statement with a wave of his hand a sigh.
“Well, we live in south park, don’t we? Plus, superpowers aren’t new to me.”
“What?”
“When you’re immortal like me, I don’t think psychic power are really that freaky.”
Kyle looked completely dumbfounded at Kennys words. Immortal, huh what? Kenny quickly picked up on Kyles confusion and tried to redirect the conversation.
“Well, what can those powers do? You could make a totally amazing superhero!”
“I’d rather not, I’d like to keep things on the low.” Kyle let out a flustered laugh. This was all so embarrassing.
Kenny tilted his head at Kyles statement. “Low huh?”
Then it hit Kyle like a brick at full force.
“SHIT! Everyone at school saw me deflect that ball the other day.” In response Kenny only chuckled. He walked over to Kyle and put an arm around his shoulder. “Yep! They sure did!” Kenny took a breath before continuing to speak.
“So just own it!”
-
Before Kyle knew it, the entire town if South Park knew of his powers. Some refused to believe it while others tried to make Kyle do stuff for him. While others again were just in wow of him and his powers, asking him to do random stuff all the time. Asking him to like lift their pencil or something.
Getting control over his powers was extremely difficult, since sometimes they would usually just do its own thing and totally betray what Kyle wanted. It could be really embarrassing at times.
“KYLE!”
Kyle snapped his head up from the desk extremely fast. If Kyle wasn’t 13 but an old man instead, he would definitely have broken it. They were currently in the middle of a test before Mr. Garrison shouted with all his might at him.
“Can you stop doing that!” Garrison pointed to back of the classroom with an angry look on his face.
Kyles gaze followed Garrisons hand to the where he was pointing. The commotion had caught some of the other student’s attention too, turning around as well.
At the back of the classroom was Clyde. He wasn’t sitting on his desk anymore no. Clyde had taken flight and floating in the back of the classroom. Not only him, but his chair and desk were flying around him. Some gasps were heard throughout the classroom.
“GET ME DOWN!” Clyde cried, all teary eyed, before he started to violently sob.
Okay, now that was embarrassing. The frustration he felt taking the test must’ve escaped somehow and Clyde had become the victim of said frustration. Through the sounds of Clydes sobs, he could hear distant giggling.
Cartman.
“Look! LOOK!” Cartman pointed towards Clyde, full on laughing. Which only made Clydes sensitive self cry more. His sobs were loud.
Just hearing Cartman laugh, immediately made Kyles blood boil. For a second he forgot all about Clyde and decided to focus on Cartman instead. Luckily though, Cartman was sitting right next to him. He swears Mr. Garrison loved putting them next to each other. Just because he had the power to do so. Kyle turned to face Cartman. Blocking out Clydes sobbing as he put all his focus onto Cartman.
“Woah! EY! Jew! Put me down!”.
It worked. Kyle opened his eyes, and what greeted him was the sight of Cartman floating around, and sobbing. Violently flailing his arms and legs.
The entire classroom had turned into chaos, with two kids in the air shouting. A desk floating around as well as chair. Most of the kids laughing at Cartman while trying to comfort Clyde.
“Oh, well if it wasn’t enough we one flying kid. Now you got two.” Garrison chimed into, sitting back onto his desk putting is face in his hands.
Okay, maybe Kyle enjoyed having these powers, just a little bit.
-
“Alright kids. We are playing dodgeball.”
The groans and sighs sounded throughout the gym.
“Dodgeball. Again?” Stan sighed turning to his super best friend. Kyle just had a completely unfazed gaze plastered onto his face. He just shrugged off Stan words. “I’m cool with it.’”
“Of course, you are!” Cartman interrupted their conversation. “You have an unfair advantage!”
Kyle could not disagree with that. These last few P.E lessons had been a total blast! Having psychic powers in P.E was extremely sweet. Especially when playing dodgeball.
The last two times they had played dodgeball, Kyle won both times. He could always sense when a ball was coming towards him, making it easy for him to turn and grab the ball. Other times, he just swiftly turned while focusing on said ball making it turn in the air and fly back to where it came from.
If the coast was clear, he could also redirect the way the ball was flying making it hit someone after he threw it. A few times he had also gotten away with teleporting behind his classmates and hitting them from the back.
One time though he was put in time out for it.
“Hm, maybe.” Kyle answered with a smirk.
“Alright start” The P.E teacher announced, throwing the ball towards the students.
Kyle played like he had done the two other times. Redirecting the dodgeball as much as he could, and trying to sneak in his powers at any point he could. Was it cheating? Maybe? But to Kyles excuse no where in the dodgeball rules did it say you couldn’t use psychic powers.
After like 10 minutes of playing, Kyle was once again, the only one left on the field.
Everyone else was staring at him from the bleachers.
“SEE! SEE! UNFAIR ADVANTAGE!” Cartman shouted from his place on the bleacher, pointing his finger straight at Kyle. He was not happy and had a very grumpy look to him.
“Alright Kyle.” The teacher began.
“Maybe not use your powers?”
Okay he admits it, he loved these powers.
-
Okay, maybe not loved it sure could have its downsides too. Especially those time people just thought they could use him for his powers.
“Hey Kyle, can you hold this?”
Kyle grabbed the bottle away from Bebes hands. “Sure.” He muttered looking at the bottle.
Just a little bit after. Clyde came up asking him to hold a pencil for him.
Soon enough, one after the other came up to Kyle asking him to hold onto something. It was ridiculous how Kyle was leaning onto the locker with 7 things floating around him. Why did they need him to ‘hold’ their stuff anyway. This had to be some weird prank.
Probably set up Cartman. It’s always Cartman.
Kyle was ripped away from his thoughts with Kenny being the next to approach him.
“Heya Kyley, hold this, would ya’?” Kenny said, handing Kyle his beat-up bottle. How a bottle could be this beaten up, Kyle had no idea. But that’s beside the point.
Because now Kenny? No, that’s enough.
Kyle shoved the bottle back at Kenny. “Okay what’s going on here!”.
Kenny just sighed and swiftly turned to the other side of the hall.
“Come out guys he figured it out.”
From the corner appeared all the people who had asked Kyle to ‘just hold something for him’. Kyle quickly groaned out the sight of them as all of them had a look of guilt on their face.
Slowly Kenny turned around to look back at Kyle.
“We just wanted to see how many things you could make float at once”.
That’s it? They made Kyle look like a fool with multiple things floating around him just because they were curious about something so stupid. They could’ve just asked!
Kyle just rolled his eyes at everyone’s stupidity before speaking. “As many things as I want” he said with slight anger in his voice as he dropped everything into the floor. It hit the floor loudly and some students flinched back. Kyle didn’t care though, and he turned and left all of them.
-
Sometimes though the powers were a little harder to control. Certain aspects were a bit trickier to handle than others. And one of the harder ones to handle was mind reading. Of course, it was mind reading, the part of Kyles powers he didn’t really like.
He has heard some really weird stuff unintentionally.
“Can you pass me the soda?” Stan said turning to face his super best friend. Him, Kenny, Stan were currently having a sleepover at Stans farm. Cartman was kicked out early for well, being Cartman.
Kyle and Stan were both sitting on the couch with Kenny sitting on between them on the floor. Stan offered to get an extra chair, but Kenny denied saying he could watch from under the table.
The red head didn’t answer to Stan request and just over to his side of the table to grab the soda.
While grabbing the soda Kyle heard his best friend speak again.
“Maybe I should get Kyle that new game he wanted for his birthday”.
Kyle instantly turned around to face the other. He was sitting the exact same position he did earlier. Kenny didn’t react to anything that Stan had said either.
Shit, he just accidently read someone’s mind again.
“Uh I think you need to get something else for my birthday” Kyle said looking guilty and handing Stan the bottle of soda.
Stan responded with a confused gaze before it hit him. “Ah. Aww, Kyle!” Stan pinched his nose. Kenny had also turned around to face the two of them.
“What happened?” Kenny interfered.
“I was thinking about what to get Kyle for his birthday and he accidently read my mind.”
-
Kyle was finally getting ready for bed after a long day, heading back to his room from the bathroom. “Goodnight ma!” Kyle said through the house before opening his door. Heading in he could hear the low voice of his mother returning the goodnight.
“Kyle!” A dark and deep voice from inside the room was heard once he had stepped in and closed the door.
“Jeez, you startled me, Kenny.” Kyle stated jumping a little back the hooded superhero sitting in his window. “What are you doing here, at this time?” Kyle continued after he managed to compose himself a little bit.
Kyle walked over towards his bed and sat down on top of it, looking at the person in his window.
“I came to give you an offer.”
“Mhm?”
“Keeping this city safe is really hard at times and especially extra complicated when you’re only one person. So, I was going to ask if you wanted to work with me. I could really use those psychic powers of yours.”
“Oh yeah? What happened to ‘Mysterion works alone’”. Kyle teased. Kenny just laughed a little in response, a smile present on his face.
“But I don’t know Kenny. Me? A superhero. That seems a little ridiculous.” He sighed after speaking, trying to face a little bit away from Kenny. It was sweet tough, that Kenny thought that Kyle was able to do as good superhero work as him. But Kyle wasn’t that confident. But at the same time, it was kind of tempting.
“Oh, come on, human kite”.
Kyles face immediately flushed at the mention of his old superhero persona.
“Stop it! That was 3 years ago!” He managed to mutter out. Kenny just simply chuckled.
“Yeah, I know. But think about it! As I said earlier. Those powers could really come in handy.” Kenny jumped back out the window and disappeared into the night.
Maybe he should take Kenny up on that offer.
Oh shit, what had Kyle gotten himself into.
