Letters from a Mandalorian

Chapter 3: 3 years

Summary:

The longest one I’ve wrote! Enjoy. I wanted this one to be filled with a mix of anger and longing. Torian is a Mandalorian, and he’s hunting the Eternal Empire relentlessly.

Chapter Text

Cyar’ika,

It’s been 3 years today.

I find myself haunted by memories of what once was and may never be again.

I close my eyes and see your face, I drink and I feel the burn in my chest. The time has passed, but my heart has its own memory, I forget nothing.

Shae mentioned a saying that stuck with me:

”Haatyc or'arue jate'shya ori'sol aru'ike nuhaatyc” - Better one big enemy that you can see than many small ones that you can't. I can see the Eternal Empire, and I won’t stop until I tal’galar of every single filthy enemy.

I fight like every bullet, every knife, every movement brings me back to you. The Eternal Empire took you from me, and I won’t stop fighting until my last breath.

Beyond the battlefield, you were the gentle touch that soothed my soul, the warmth that melted away the grip of the galaxy's harshness. You’re the only one who has ever been able to find me.

You were more than my riduur, you were my equal, my partner in battle, and you own my heart.

The vows we exchanged, the promises we made to each other, feel like echoes of a distant past. How could I have known that our pledge to share our love until the end would lead to this cruel separation?

I fear that I am wandering an eternal path of solitude, without you to light my way.

I’m not prepared to remember you for longer than I’ve known you. Please come home.

Torian.
