Garcia Reynolds Reveals Her Retirement!

You read that right! At the last show of her Last Word Tour, Garcia revealed a decision that shocked everyone in the audience. She’s retiring! While she did clarify later in an interview that she may or may not continue to make music, she will not be performing or even be contracted anymore. As much as this news saddens us, it’s certainly something we can understand.
Garcia’s career has been a hectic and crazy one. Going from what one would insultingly call a ‘nobody girl’ in Idaho (are we still sure that’s a state?) to a top charter in less than one year is impressive and quite the change, but then only a few years later her friend El is murdered! Just when one would think it’s all over, the Tsu Evidence blows everything back open, and then the child breaks out of prison? I’m exhausted simply writing it all out.
Garcia says that her decision was a carefully considered one. According to her, she has “achieved all that I need”, which has led to a lot of speculation on what she could mean by this.

LOKI AAKRE'S IMAGE
Loki Aakre (Norway/USA) composes an tranquil yet eerie image underwater in Lake Kaindy
Loki wanted to create a calm yet unsettling scene and went to Lake Kaindy, or the Submerged Forest to do so. Due to the freezing temperatures of the lake, Loki had to wear protective gear, get special permission to enter the lake, and purchase a new camera. But it was all worth it.
He took dozens of photos while underwater over 3 days, waiting for the perfect moment. He waited for the sunshine to filter through the surface and highlight the strong color of the bark, angle and water, and then used a wide-angle lens and flashes to capture the forms of the angle above him.
When bark is submerged underwater, it begins to rot and decay. However, Lake Kaindy never rises above a temperature of 6 degrees Celsius, which results in the perfect preservation of the trees underneath the water. This gives algae and other plants a great place to grow and thrive in this timeless lake.
Zoe Cipriani, director at the museum and contest judge, said, "The real beauty of the photo comes through its masterful composition. Looking through the scene it appears as though the viewer is falling- more accurately, drowning. It gives a promise to the viewer; before them is this scene of preservation and rebirth, a symbolic parallel as the depths begin to consume them."

Is This Year’s Best Photo Winner- Losing?

Despite the award already having been awarded to each of the winners of this year's chosen, one of the photos is at the center of a huge controversy within the photography community. With the photos already being printed, some are demanding a recall and reprint.
But which photo? And why? Well, none other than the “Best Nature” photo winner submitted by award-winning photographer Loki Aakre. Looking at the photo, no one would guess the controversy behind it; it's a masterfully composed photo worthy of its award. However, the controversy comes from a small clip from one of Aakre’s coworkers’ vlogs.
Entitled “Behind the Scenes with Team Purple, Vlog #12”, posted on the official W.R.A.P channel, within the video is a ground-shaking reveal.
“Hmmmm, the coworker I most admire is probably Loki. Don’t tell my boss that, she’ll be horrified, because they’re in the middle of a prank war right now and I’ve been strictly neutral. Anyways, Loki’s pretty great, he’s always got enough energy to lift us up no matter how early it is and no matter how many mosquitoes bite us. Also, his work drive is insane. This one time, he decided he needed to get the utmost perfect shot of these frogs, and literally, it was the first time I saw him transform- euggghhhh. I turn away now, honestly, Reminded me of those Animorph descriptions. He might have won an award but I, personally, would not go through that for a picture.”
Jillian Pitich’s response to Zoya Reyes' question of “Which coworker do you admire most” stirred up a whirlwind of questions behind Loki’s status as a MetaHuman, and the question everyone asked themselves was, “Did he use his Meta Ability to Win?”
While some are saying it doesn’t matter, the photo is what is being judged, others are calling for Loki’s award to be completely retracted. Most notably, among the latter group is Zoe Cipriani, who was one of the judges on the panel that gave Loki his original award.
Either way, all we know for certain is that whichever side wins will make a lasting impact!

Comparison Tests - Part 2 - After Meta Awakening

The recent bombing attacks in several parts of Southern Japan have left many feeling scared, wondering if they’re going to be next. So far, over 400 confirmed deaths have occurred, and even more injuries. The first known one happened in Ichikawa, where an intersection blew up at random. Since then, over a dozen more bombings have occurred. They don’t seem to follow a clear pattern, 4 were committed in a single day and there was almost a 2-week break between the 6th and 7th bombing.

Literally so cheerful and bright, lightened my mood for days I swear. saved me from a mugger, his meta is super interesting - he uses paint in different colors to produce a bunch of effects, froze the mugger in place with an icy blue paint. Plus the paint he leaves on criminals makes it really easy for them to be tracked down as it's really hard to get rid of. I wonder if he…produces his own paint… or if he’s just dropping tons upon tons of dollars on paint solely to crime fight. Either way, I do enjoy being saved by him!
Monster in Pawtucket Stopped by Vigilantes

Anyone who has lived in Rhode Island for a while is familiar with the state’s wide array of vigilantes. Many can even recount a story or two where they were saved by a vigilante before they could call 911.
Just this morning, a large monster appeared in Pawtucket, destroying buildings left and right! However it was swiftly defeated by what we here at RINews believe to be two new vigilantes. We have dubbed them Jester and Virtuoso.
The two vigilantes presented a clear contrast to each other. While Virtuoso was all serious, battling against the monster with a variety of makeshift weapons and skillfully using the terrain to his advantage, Jester was all jokes, playfully interacting with the crowd and telling some literal jokes to many of them.
Don't think that Jester is the weak or lazy one though!; When it came down to it, he used inhuman strength and speed to combat the monster in hand-to-hand combat! Even getting back up after being slammed into a building so hard the outline of his body is still there.
Neither Jester or Virtuoso were wearing anything flashy, nor did either of them stay after the fight to interact with the press, but they have gained immense popularity after their fight with the monster was caught on camera and released to the press. We, for one, are looking forward to seeing these two again!

After re-watching the video (Evidence #4, the camera on the roof] I noticed something weird. At 4:56:02 a figure can be seen inside the explosion. It’s a small figure, but after re-watching the video a few times it got a lot clearer, there's definitely someone inside the explosion. Rewind the video to right before the explosion, and there is nobody there. There’s no way for someone to have gotten there in the micro-seconds before the explosion. This camera was ruined by this explosion, but looking at Evidence #3 [The outside camera] which overlooks the front. After the explosion, when everyone starts to run, a figure jumps down from an unknown point above the camera. I’d bet money it’s the same figure from the explosion on the roof. You’re the expert here, you think it’s a Meta?

By breaking things down into their smallest parts, and then reassembling them, I can gain an understanding of how they function, and the inner purposes that led to each choice in the design process.

Experience has provided me with a valuable perspective that I hope to use to turn our school into a more desirable place to attend. I want all of my fellow Knights to look forward to attending school as much as I do. Through involvement as a participant in school activities and behind the scenes helper, I am already aware of what works for the majority of students, but I do not think that is enough. Over the past few months, Japan has experienced a long series of bombing attacks on its southern half. All attacks have been made on civilian populations, and have resulted in 134 deaths and over 300 injuries. Today at 7:12am, the National Police Agency of Japan held a press conference, warning all citizens about the recent terrorist attacks and answering questions about them.
The police assured the public that they are "Going to all possible lengths to protect our citizens" alongside with "calling in the Self-Defense Forces to help ensure that any active bombs still in play can be found and disarmed."
In accordance with the press conference, the police will be "working more closely with the Self-Defense Forces, and undergoing more bomb safety and disarming training" in order to track down the terrorist, as well as erecting transportation checkpoints in many major cities to prevent transportation of weaponry or bomb materials. While many are worried that this might cause hindrances to daily life, the police assured that they were working "for the protection of our people'' and that they would "discover and arrest the terrorist as quickly as we can so everyone can feel safe again."
Most notably in the press conference, the police revealed that "the terrorist we are dealing with is a powerful Meta User. All theories about their Meta Ability are speculation…" and that "We are acting accordingly in response to this."

Current Response to the Rise of 'Vigilantes'
All across the nation, there has been a rise in meta users taking the law into their own hands and distributing 'justice' on their own terms. Many 'Vigilantes' are meta users, which makes them difficult and dangerous to restrain or combat against. We are hoping to establish a new series of programs to train officers against higher levels of meta violence. Often against meta users, non-lethal force is incapable of properly capturing or combating them, and much stronger, lethal force must be used to protect an officer's life.....
ToCoolForCollege Velvet + Urchin I put them together because they’re basically a Vigilante duo at this point. Anyways, both of them have super interesting Metas, I don’t really know how either of them work but Velvet has this blood exosketon thingy and Urchin has a bunch of spikes growing out of him. Admittedly the first time I saw their stilultetes in the dingy dark alleyway (Downside to working at night) I screamed, but embarrassing anecdote aside these two are very highly dedicated to being Vigilantes. The only major media coverage they’ve gotten is that one shit article but they actually were at both the Bristol Flooding and even took down a trafficking ring not to long ago. The police took the credit for that one since news channels basically hate them both, ugh.

For Vigilantes, if I were to graph them, the two axes would be Camera avoiding veruses Camera whore and the other Savior focused versus punisher focused. Like Miss Mantis would be heavy Punisher focused and camera avoiding, Iron would be camera avoiding but savior focused…etc. I don’t know what this does but it does help categorize a lot of the vigilanties I’ve met.

National Police Arrest Terrorist charged with dozens of bombings, in a case that has gripped the country.

Yesterday, July 17th, afternoon, the Japanese National Police arrested the criminal.
The Terrorist, unofficially dubbed “Hyperpoint” by the media, was said to have been incredibly difficult to capture or track down, with seemingly no plan or presence to track.
The attacks have caused over hundred deaths and serious injuries, along with over 10 billion yen in damages.
The first attack, in early March, was believed to be a one-off occurrence, but quickly became a nationwide issue. While many theorized about the nature of the culprit, it wasn’t until just last week that the terrorist was confirmed to be a meta-user.
The terrorist was able to teleport long distances, causing massive explosions each time they did so, yet walking away from each scene unscathed.
Several times, when the police had gotten close before, the terrorist would teleport away at the last moment, taking out multiple officers along with civilians.
While nobody knows where the terrorist will be held, authorities have reassured the public that they will not be able to escape, and that the people of Japan can finally rest easy regarding this threat.

I can! I’ve been keeping up with basically every scape of information released so imma just compile it all here.
Starting with context (my history teacher would be so proud of me rn) Rhode Island’s governor is very anti-registration as well being a pretty pro-meta in general, Rhode Island is one of 3 states that currently doesn’t have a meta registry! Anyways, couple a rising meta population with rising crime and we get our first vigilantes. Nobody is really sure who was ‘first’ or anything like that, especially because it was not “vigilante behavior” but rather just “Bystander Intervention” when it first emerged. It wouldn’t really be until another while that some of the names we recognize would show in reports; Iron appears here!!
The switch from a couple of underground vigilantes to the surge of popularity and many well-known vigilantes is a hard thing to define, but I say it had a lot to do with the Bristol Flood coupled with the Haute Joaillerie Collection Attempted Robbery. They were two large incidents in which the notable saviors of the day were vigilantes -not the police.
Anyways this cause issues™ and so like, Rhode Island tried a bunch of different solutions to fix this issue because it was causing a major distrust in the police forces and blah blah blah.
So 2 days ago, the RI Authorities announced a new “Heroics” program and I’m going to break it down for you since nobody wants to watch a 3 hour long press conference filled with more jargon and esoteric language then a know-it-all middle schooler’s essay.
Firstly it completely outlaws Vigilantism. More or Less, this tibet gets kinda buried underneath the rest of the meeting and the fact nobody brings it back up during the questions panel. Vigilantism is incredibly vaguely defined as basically ‘preventing or punishing someone for perceived (real or not) crimes without authority to do so’ which is very vague and about half of that is already illegal, so what they actually did was outlaw bystander invention that used a meta ability
Secondly, they created the Heroes of the Heroics Program! Technically on a legal standpoint, they are *clears throat* “state-sanctioned individuals who are permitted to use their meta abilities to uphold the law”, but since theses individuals used to be vigilantes, and the comparison of them to comic-book vigilantes and heroes was already made, they’re just being called “Heroes”
There’s a legal gray area about what they can and can’t do, since they seem to have more power than the police, but are still restricted by laws that police don’t have to follow and are under the police authorities, I bet that as the program goes on there will be a continuing trend of updating laws and implementing new systems as they try to hash things out.
They also introduced the heroes themselves: Fleur, Jester, Mr.Sunshine, Obake, Synthesia, and Virtuoso. There’s a lot of confusion about whether or not there is 6 or 7 heroes, and it’s 6. From what I can tell the rumor of 7 heroes comes from a clip of the conference where Police Captain Francisco said that the program “will have 7 individuals that we will work with…” I personally believe this is literally just Francisco making an oopys because for all everyone is discussing this mysterious seventh hero there isn’t anything substantially to any of these claims, so yeah, just six heroes.
Also I’ve seen a lot of questions about what do heroes do? Do they replace police? What about firefighters? Are they a first responder?
The best way I can describe it is that heroes are indeed first responders, and their job is to be the on-sight force. They fight criminals, go into disaster zones, etc. They do NOT actually detain the criminal, or provide medical aid, though I’m unsure about investigation work.

Meta Ability: Blood Plant. This meta is much more horrifying than watching Fleur use it would suggest. Fleur can grow plants that survive solely on blood and control their growth. Her main usage for this is on herself, growing a variety of vines out of her arms to use as whips or restraints, along with growing flowers on herself for her shows that are purely decorative. However, by touching another, she can cause flowers to sprout into their blood veins, which could maim them from the inside out. Specialty: Fleur is excellent at dealing with civilians in danger and crowd control during a crisis. She can quickly gauge a crowd's reactions and act accordingly, as well as calm and comfort panicking civilians in distress. She is best as a mid-range fighter, with a trump card up her sleeve if her opponent gets in too close.
Psychology: Fleur has an upbeat personality and genuinely cares for others near her. She often extends her hand to others who need someone. While there don’t seem to be any issues in this area, she should be watched to make sure she isn’t bottling up her own emotions or getting emotionally exhausted.
Teamwork: Fleur gets along well with others and does not have any major issues with any of her teammates. She is best at uplifting others when things get tough and inspiring them to do good. However, she is a poor fighter in a group (which likely stems from always being a solo fighter in her vigilante career), something that needs to be worked on as soon as possible.

Rowan is also proficient at finding ways to activate his meta, making opportunities by picking out specific people to tell jokes to, or turning his opponent into a laughing stock to power up.
Psychology: Rowan shows issues with authority, likely resulting from his past [See file on ‘Outward Going Intervention Group’ for details]. He also has a habit of annoying and poking at his teammates to rile them up, making him hard to work with. Does care deeply for both Virtuoso [See file on ‘Jack Abbas’] and Gold [See file on ‘Tobias Gold’] and is very self-sacrificing in dangerous situations, hinting at a possible self-worth issue.
Teamwork: While Rowan clearly has respect and admiration for Virtuoso, and does follow the other’s orders, his flippant and frivolous attitude often gets on others' nerves. He also shows blatant disregard for hierarchy and authority, and will go out of his way to cause as much annoyance as possible within the rules to escape retribution. While this prankster attitude is quite annoying, once in a serious situation he stops the jokes and gets serious to match it. He has also shown to only want to cause mild annoyance with his pranks, rather than to genuinely harm his teammates [See ‘Vending Machine Prank’ incident]
Overall Comments: The best method to deal with Rowan’s attitude is either to ignore it or lightly play along, as he gets disinterested quickly. Rowan must be given direct and clear orders when in a non-serious situation. Rowan is best at over-powering his opponents in close-combat, but needs more training in martial arts and is functionally useless if he can not get in close.

Meta Ability: Photovoltaic. Mr.Sunshine is able to convert radiant energy (most notably sunlight, hence the vigilante name) into electrical energy. Using his meta-ability in direct sunlight allows him to generate voltage equal to that of a lightning strike. He can also use other forms of radiant energy, such as radio frequencies, and leave behind reception dead spots after his attacks. While he has great control over the amount of electricity generated, and the location it originates from, he has very little control over the electricity itself after it is generated.
Speciality: With an exceptionally powerful meta-ability, which he uses in an innovative manner, Mr.Sunshine is the powerhouse of the team. This, combined with his versatile fighting techniques, render him able to rapidly adapt to the meta-abilities of others, making him a highly effective combatant against other meta-humans.
Psychology: Due to his high intelligence and powerful meta-ability, Mr.Sunshine thinks very highly of himself and his abilities. This behavior is the result of a highly toxic mentality around weakness, and his refusal to show it. He often lashes out at his teammates when they show what he believes to be weakness. He also refuses to fight alongside anyone, and to call for backup or help even when he desperately needs it.

Overall Comments: Due to the severe difficulties incurred attempting to manage him and ensure he gets along with his teammates during battle, the resources that would need to be spent on these attempts, and the possibility of failure or worsening their relations, the better alternative is to simply plan with the thought of him as a solo fighter in mind and avoid team ups as much as possible.
Hero Name: Obake
Civilian Name: Fukusei Nakamura [See file ‘Fukusei Nakamura’]
Meta Ability: Dead Morph. Obake is able to shapeshift into any dead creature she has seen. Physical contact with said dead creature is not required nor preferred. However, these shapeshifted forms are in the state of condition as seen, meaning they will often deteriorate within a short period of time. The current state of the morph may change after being seen, but Obake will morph what was seen. If seen multiple times in various forms of decay, Obake typically morphs into whichever was most recently deceased, or whichever was in the best condition. Post-death alterations such as embalming also affect morphing.
Speciality: Obake is an expert at infiltration and recon, leaning more towards animal morphs to keep distance, as the tell-tale signs of death are sometimes visible on her form. However, even with human disguises, it is not the Meta Ability that gives them such great skills of infiltration and resonance, but their own skills.
Psychology: Highly shifty, spent much of her interview minimally answering questions or entirely dodging them. Obake has a penchant for not revealing vital information until she either has to or is made to. Obake often gets involved in manners that don’t concern her, nor are her responsibility, and has a track record of insubordination.
Teamwork: Her collaboration skills are satisfactory on her end, however, her personality is often found unnerving and unsettling by her teammates, which, with the expectation of Fleur, deters most potential partnerships. Fortunately, her missions usually require her to work independently, which allows her to do her work without need for extensive collaboration.
Overall Comments: Obake has little combat experience and is easily taken down in a straight fight. Her track record and her generally hostile attitude towards proper authority has been deemed concerning enough to warrant close monitoring. Obake is to be monitored to ensure she is behaving properly, and should be reminded that her status as a hero does not except her from the law.

Meta Ability: Paint Master A highly confusing meta-ability. To simplify, Synthesia can ‘trigger’ different effects in paint depending on the paint's color. While he primarily uses wet paint he purchases and slings, he can ‘trigger’ painted surfaces, though it is more difficult. There are a variety of effects he can trigger, but the most common ones are: Green: acidic; purple: shifts gravity; black: produces storm clouds; gray: petrification; blue: brings down temperature; and red: brings up temperature.
Specialty: Synthesia's greatest strength is his adaptability. He can effortlessly adjust his strategy according to his partner and opponent. [See file 'Training Sessions Synthesia Collection'] . He excels at making quick decisions and has a proven track record in combat situations.
Psychology: While both Synthesia and Jester are rule-breakers who enjoy playing tricks on others, unlike Jester, Synthesia does it purely to boost and uplift the moods of people around him rather than the aim of annoying or harassing authority or to seek attention. [See files ‘Pink Paint Effects’ and ‘Bucket Prank on Break Door’]. He is responsible and able to accept when he is wrong and fix his mistakes. Synthesia wants to believe in the best in everybody, which leads him to avoid taking drastic action sometimes [See file ‘Vittorio Romano Arrest’] and view all lives as equally important [See file ‘Interview #ARB-043’].
Teamwork: Genuinely gets along with others; pretty upbeat Synthesia consistently displays a carefree, positive, and upbeat attitude and is great at raising the spirits of their co-workers without getting on their nerves. He is able to let things bounce off of him without taking it to heart, doesn’t hold grudges well, and is quick to forgive.
Overall Comments: Synthesia stands out among the group of heroes and is undoubtedly the ideal candidate to embody heroism. His meta ability is powerful and adaptable without being frightening. Moreover, his captivating eccentricity and warm personality make him the best paragon figure one could hope for.
Hero Name: Virtuoso
Civilian Name: Jack Abbas [See file on ‘Jack Abbas’]
Meta Ability: Contact Competence. A simple name that hides how much this meta-ability is truly useful for. Upon touching an object, he gains information on its history, how to use it, direct facts about it, how it was built, how it can be altered, and more [See ‘Power Drill Test’ file]. However this knowledge is only available to him as long as he makes direct contact with the object, dropping the object or having it taken away from him will remove all knowledge. This meta-ability also does not work on anything made out of living material. Simply put: Anything Virtuoso touches, Virtuoso masters.
Speciality: Virtuoso is an incredibly versatile fighter due to his meta-ability, able to master a collection of weapons. He also has many other skills that make him valuable, and is a skillful problem solver, both in combat and investigation.
Psychology: Virtuoso works well and easily with others. He also has high moral standards that he holds himself and his teammates to. Within these standards, however, he does have a defiant streak. If he believes that his orders are immoral or illogical, or if he does not understand his orders, he will thoroughly question them before he follows them; if he does not believe they are logical or moral, he can easily convince his co-workers of the same. An analysis of Interview #VJA-328 also hints at jealousy and envy issues, with the belief that his meta-ability is not as impressive as his teammates and needing to compensate for it.
Teamwork: Amazing. He easily fills a leadership position when needed, but has no difficulties with giving it up. He gets along with each of his teammates, and they hold a high respect for him because of it. He is able to sway much of the other’s opinions when needed. While his friend Jester detests authority, Jack does not hold the same hatred, making him much more approachable and easier to work with.
Overall Comments: Virtuoso is best suited for unconventional cases and investigation work. Unfortunately, compared to his co-workers, Virtuoso is the weakest fighter and often has a hard time against inhuman opponents [See medical report after battle against the villain ‘Titan’]. He is the team's most natural and skilled leader, and uses intelligent battle strategy for both himself, his teammates and managing team composition. Virtuoso is currently unaware of Agent Gold’s position and duties, along with Program Restore itself, and should be kept that way. His defiant streak against things he does not believe in, along with the rest of the team’s deference to him, make him a threat to our more unorthodox programs.

Question: Dr. Isha, can you tell us a little bit about the purpose behind Tartarus?
Dr. Isha: Of course, we saw a need for a prison that is capable of securely holding meta individuals. With meta abilities, these individuals pose a new and unique challenge, as traditional prisons are often unable to hold them. There is a need for a new type of facility able to contain them and prevent them from escaping into a society that I filled.
Question: What makes Tartarus different from these traditional prisons?
Dr. Isha: Tartarus is built with the latest technology and has been specifically designed to hold meta-individuals in mind. It has the strictest security of any prison built as of now to prevent escapes or breaches.
Question: Can you tell us more about the security measures in place at Tartarus?
Dr. Isha: I'm afraid I can't go into too much detail for security reasons, but I can say that we have multiple layers of security, including advanced surveillance systems, armed guards, and high-tech containment units. We also have a multitude of safeguards in place to prevent any use of meta abilities within the facility.
Question: Some critics have raised concerns about the ethics of imprisoning individuals based solely on their meta abilities, regardless of the severity of their crime. What would you say to those critics?
Dr. Isha: Our priority is the safety of society as a whole. Individuals with meta abilities have the potential to cause irreparable harm if left unchecked, and these individuals cannot simply be left in a prison where they are capable of leaving at any moment. By imprisoning them in Tartusa, we are preventing future tragedies from happening by containing our villains.

Could Our Future Include These New Heroes?

Rhode Island recently implanted a new ‘Heroics Program’ into their legislation and it has the rest of America asking if they should do the same.
The Heroics Program has been described in a variety of ways, from accusations of being a “waste of taxpayer’s dollars” to commendation for being “The first step in a much-needed change”. The authorities and officials who passed the accounts that created the program described it as “a new specialized defense force in accordance with the era we live in”.
The idea for the program comes from Dr. Rose Newmont’s theory of “The Niche Defense” in which she proposed that with the growing number of meta criminals, standardized versions of law enforcement would become obsolete against them and that to combat meta criminals, a meta police-like force will be needed to adapt against specialization.
As of July 2033, this program has been in full effect in the cities of Bristol, Newport, and several parts of Kent with plans to expand to the entire state before the end of next year. The experiences of Rhode Island with its program will no doubt serve as an example for other states that might consider a similar approach to the rising crime rate spending across the nation. To quote Governor Puck’s remarks about the possible future of heroics, “Rhode Island can serve as a laboratory of democracy to inform future legislation regarding heroics.”
However, many are questioning if it would be worth the financial cost needed to support the switch in authority forces, and that’s without the questions around the “Heroes” themselves. Is it truly a good idea to place our trust and safety into the hands of a few super-powered individuals?
ToCoolForCollege I love the new heroes as much as everyone else but ever since RI has legalized those heroes they’ve been cracking down on vigilantes. All of my fav vigilantes have either been arrested or have gone into hiding. I haven’t seen Iron in forever :C
Hero Name: Agent Gold
Civilian Name: Tobias Gold
Meta Ability: Deformity. Gold is able to manipulate cells in living things, including rearranging cells and changing cell functions [See file ‘Outward Going Intervention Group’] even up to fusing different living things together on the cellular level [see file ‘Gracie Terry and Jack Gold Deaths’]. This meta-ability has a reputation [See Collection ‘Deformity’] and for good reason. The main two limits of Deformity seem to be the requirement of skin-to-skin contact for activation, and the law of conservation of matter. Gold is able to manipulate his own cells to rapidly heal, along with a variety of other effects, however to do so he must have intimate knowledge of how to perform each effect and have adequate cells and time to do the process. He is also only able to do this on himself, as he does not ‘know’ any other cells and can not control them as precisely.
Speciality: Gold has an extremely strong meta-ability, which works as an instant win as soon as it’s activated, and also has a high intimidation factor. Gold is adept at dodging, but lacks skills in offensive fighting. Lastly, Gold has a lot more intelligence than he himself believes. He is best at pattern-recognition, able to study an opponent and outwit them both in and out of battle.
Psychology: Gold is easily prone to anxiety, which can lead into full blown panic attacks. He is poor at dealing with stressful situations, and shows symptoms of C-PTSD [See previously mentioned files]. However Gold cares more about the survival and comfort of himself and his loved ones than any moral or ethical conduct. [See file ‘Interview #ATG-042’] He also shows no aversion to using or witnessing unsavory methods if it is not inflicted on him or those he is close with. When Gold is not anxious, he is often withdrawn and quiet, but possesses a surprising quick tongue.
Overall Comments: Currently, Gold’s biggest weaknesses are his poor psychological state and his lack of combat ability, the latter of which can be easily worked on. [See file ‘Combat Test and Recommendations for Agent Gold’]. For the former, my recommendation is to provide some form of psychological aid. His poor mental state has already caused at least one major issue [See file ‘Waiton Kidnapping’] and will undoubtedly cause more, and is at risk of worsening due to potentially detrimental jobs.

Rikîna A. Andersen: I’m Rikîna Amalie Andersen.
Nathaniel Crane: Detective Nathaniel Crane. We are currently trying to track down your older sister, Kanik Andersen, better known as the Vigilante Velvet. Any information you can give us will be more useful than you think.
Rikîna A. Andersen: I’ll try my best, but she went no contact with us a few years ago.
Nathaniel Crane: That’s alright, what can you tell us about your sister?
Rikîna A. Andersen: Hm, well, I was born less than a year after her
Nathaniel Crane: Irish Twins right?
Rikîna A. Andersen: Yep, Kanik is the only one in our family who has… uh… those powers? At first they thought she just had telangiectasia on her back and stuff, but about 2 weeks in and she started growing her blood amour thingy and that’s when my parents decided to have me. Mom always joked that if I came out like my sister they were adopting.
Nathaniel Crane: Oh.
Rikîna A. Andersen: Eh, unlike her I was born perfectly normal. Kanik couldn’t really go to school because of her meta stuff, so my mom quit her job to homeschool her.
Nathaniel Crane: Can you elaborate on that? On her Meta - Ability please?
Rikîna A. Andersen: Sure, think the doctor called it a “Blood Exoskeleton”. I don’t really know how it works honestly, but like, once her blood is out of her body, it hardens, and if I remember correctly her veins like directly connects to it? I’m unsure of how that works. I do know that there aren’t like nerves in the harden blood, back when we were kids we used to mess around with it all the time, tapping on it, holding it over the stove, you know, dumb kid stuff.
Nathaniel Crane: Naturally. We know that Velvet started her vigilante activity a little over a year ago but you said she went no contact several years ago, so I’m assuming that wasn’t the reason behind no contact, would you happen to know?
Rikîna A. Andersen: Ah, well, after Kanik turned 18 during her senior year my mom wanted to declare Kanik legally incapacitated because of her condition, I don’t really remember much of what happened, but once school was done Kanik just, left one night. I have no idea how, since she didn’t have a car or anything, but I bet she had help from Ígull. Mom went to the police but at the end of the day, she was over 18, so the police said that they couldn’t force her to go back home, we just had to wait for her to come back on her own, and she never did.
Nathaniel Crane: You know Ígull Jónsson?
Rikîna A. Andersen: Yeah, he was my sister’s friend. In my opinion he was kinda creepy, with the spikes coming out his body, but he and Kanik were basically attached at the hip the second they met. Sometimes when we went out people thought they were the siblings and I was just one of their friends…
Rikîna A. Andersen: Why’d you ask? Is he in jail now or something?
Nathaniel Crane: No, however Kanik and Ígull are accomplices.

Eyes & Teeth is about two girls, Emma and Tracy, who are assaulted by their church pastor. To gain supernatural powers, they make a deal with a devil-like entity. I won't spoil it, but the movie is called "Eyes & Teeth" for a reason. However, in exchange, they must each sacrifice a person per month, otherwise, they will lose all their powers and protection.
The movie subverts many conventional horror tropes. It is less gory than expected and relies more on psychological horror. As the girls get a stronger handle on their powers, the grip on reality that the girls and the viewer have deteriorates. It has a great handle on its suspense, and it left me physically leaning forward toward the screen several times.
The film draws parallels between how the pastor and the town manipulate the girls into relationships with much older men and then shame them for their actions. The entity demands more and more from the girls, altering the deal and appearing before the girls as they're desperate. Emma backs out of the deal, but Tracy cannot give up her powers.
The acting in the movie is phenomenal. Both of the girls feel like foolish teenagers out of their depth with more powerful men and entities. Isabella Ruiz's performance in particular is remarkable. The film also pays great attention to detail, with each reveal adding to the horror.
Anyway, I knocked off a star because the movie would be drastically improved if the directors allowed Emma and Tracy to kiss.
Miki Aoi; Biggest comeback of 2035!

Back in 2027, Miki Aoi made one of the most controversial decisions on the production of Tumbleweed, a show that had just gotten picked up by LightShot studio, which was to continue hiring and continue production with the just-revealed Meta Actress Camille Leon. Production went on, and the project crashed, barely reaching production costs when it hit streaming services.
Recently she was re-hired to work at Kuraiōkami Studios as one of the main writers on their brand-new show Eleven. Considering the success of Eleven so far, with only one season out but topping the charts at record-speeds — for good reason too — her work has been given another look by the public.
Many of her past works are garnering attention once again due to Eleven’s popularity. Shows like Trouble Project, which was originally canceled after one season, is getting reconsidered for getting picked back up again. And Strangers with Debt has achieved an all-time high in viewership. Currently she is also working on Paper Hearts, which is expected to be released in theaters next year!

This movie was amazing, the girls experience a horrifying descent into madness and the audience have to ask “when does should vengeance end?” the cinematography is top tier, every shot of this movie could be a poster, it’s absolutely beautiful.
Isbella and Rita did a fantastic job of portraying two highschool girls who are annoying and then arrogant and deeply traumatized. They’re wonderful, but the characters are defo a thing that turns a lot of people off from the movie.
Honestly, movie reminds me of Midsummer, but instead of being indoctrinated into the cult Tracy starts it

Girl I’ve been seeing doesn’t want to get into a relationship with me because of my Meta
Basically the title. Me (27M) and this girl (28F) have been going on a couple of dates, we really hit it off and she’s been amazing, but last week it came into discussion and I told her that I have a Meta Ability. She immediately said she had to go and said that we should stop seeing each other.
My Meta isn’t anything dangerous, I can change the temperature of any liquid I touch, the worst I’ve done is make pasta really quickly with it, but this is the third relationship that’s broken off because of it. I thought we were really getting somewhere with this and I really want her back. Anything I can do about this?

I recently watched "Eyes & Teeth" and it was a disappointment. Everyone hyped it up but it was not worth it. Both of the main girls, Emma and Tracy, were stupid as hell and the cosmic entity that granted them supernatural powers was clearly on drugs.
The movie has a decent premise but the horror was underwhelming. the special effects crew had a budget of about 5$ and the movie suffered because of it. I found the plot to be boring and unable to get invested in it because of that. Both of the main characters were too annoying to care anything about, and all of the side characters were about as flat as wet tissue paper.
this movie is pretty to look at, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a good horror movie

Reminder that July is Chronic Illness Awareness Month!
As someone who's spent so much time in the hospital that I forgot what my own house looked like several times, I want to spread as much awareness as possible.
I was born with major health issues and soon developed more. Several conditions didn’t get diagnosed until years and years later, because doctors didn’t think that I could have this or that condition so young, or that something was too rare for me to have.
Living with my condition has been a constant struggle. Not just with physical symptoms but with the emotional toll as well. There is never an 'end' to my chronic illness, no real 'goalpost' of recovery I can ever reach. There are constant doctor appointments, a pile of medications to take each meal, and optimistic and pessimistic doctors alike I meet every week.
Awareness is incredibly important. It helps people understand what I and others go through and breaks down stigma and stereotypes surrounding chronic illness (fun fact, birth defects are not transmittable!). The mental journey is just as taxing as the physical one and having family to rely on and support me in my life has made all of the difference in my treatment.

The characters were so hard to get invested into, i desperately wanted to punch the main two girls many times, and everyone else were so flat i was surprised they were played by actors instead of being cardboard props. The special effects also was poor, so a couple of the scenes ended up looking more comedic than intended due to bad editing.
However, I will say the aesthetic of the movie was beautiful, and while the two girls were annoying, they were also amazing. The plot was riveting, and was paced really well.
TheFirst I’m going to the gym solely so I can get strong enough to punch the elderly people who glare at me when I park in the handicap parking. Surprise! Young people can be disabled to! 9,067 notes
