Chapter Text
Theo didn’t come back to the room the next day. For the first time in weeks, he didn’t see Theo all day. Liam was almost glad for it. Having time to think was good. But then Theo was still gone the next day. And the next… And the next.
Liam tried texting him, but Theo didn’t answer or even see it. That wasn’t super uncommon, but given the context it made Liam worried.
After a full week, he decided just to go to Theo’s apartment. He had the sneaking suspicion that Theo wouldn’t buzz him in, so he waited till someone else walked through the entrance, then caught the doors right before they closed. In the elevator, Liam shifted from foot to foot and fidgeted with his hands. He hadn’t really thought about what he would say to Theo. What would he even say? Hey, I like how soft your lips are, wanna kiss me again? Or I literally can’t stop thinking about you. Both of those options seemed wrong. Liam would just have to figure it out when he got there.
Standing outside of Theo’s apartment door was nerve wracking. He could hear Theo moving around inside, but when he knocked, the movement stopped and didn’t start again.
“Theo, it’s me. Could you open the door?” Liam said. He knew Theo could hear him, but he still didn’t move, “Please,” Liam begged, voice softer than he’d intended it to be. He could hear Theo start to walk toward the door and Liam felt his heartbeat quicken. Shit, what was he going to say? He still hadn’t figured it out and his mind went totally blank when he saw Theo in the open doorway.
Liam didn’t have anything to say. All he could think to do was grip onto Theo’s shirt and pull him into a bruising kiss. Liam felt Theo let out a quiet gasp against his lips before pulling Liam in closer by the waist and kissing him back.
This kiss was a lot more intense than the quick peck Theo had given him, and it was so, so good. They stayed there until Liam felt his lungs burn from the lack of oxygen.
“Why didn’t we do this sooner?” Liam asked, smiling as they pulled away. Theo was smiling too with kiss swollen lips and flushed cheeks. Liam let himself be pulled by the waist further into the apartment as Theo closed the door.
“I think we might just be stupid.” Theo suggested, running a thumb over Liam’s lips.
“Yeah, maybe just a little.” Liam laughed, looking back on all the time they’d spent together, “A few weeks ago I went on a date with some guys, and the whole time I could only think about you. I can’t believe I didn’t realize it then.”
“Realize what?” Theo asked. He had to know, but maybe he just needed to hear Liam say it.
“That I like you, obviously.” Liam reached down and grabbed one of Theo’s hands, holding it tight in his own, “You like me, right?” Liam knew the answer. He just wanted to hear it.
“For so long.” Theo breathed out, squeezing Liam’s hand. He pressed his lips back into Theo’s. It was deep and slow and full of wanting.
“Will you go out with me?” Liam whispered against Theo’s lips, holding him so close they were practically hugging.
“Duh, little wolf.” Theo said, dropping his head down to Liam’s shoulder and wrapping his arms around Liam. He leaned into it, breathing in Theo’s fall-leaf scent, already planning the date he’d take Theo on.
