Was it a mistake?
The now 17-year-old young wolf bit his lower lip hard, while the target stood not even a meter away, which made his confused little heart leap into a pentagon. Theo Karl Reaken, initially a vicious and bloodthirsty chimera, transformed into a constant lifesaver and now a close friend.
"Friend..." came dryly and haltingly from his bone-dry mouth, his right to stay on the red-sanded wall long ago. But no matter what Liam tried, he couldn't move his rigid back, not until... yes, until what?

Liam had finally made a decision. The constant pleading and the cursing, heavy-footed pedaling on his battered childhood bike were definitely going to end.
The spirited young wolf finally needed a driver's license. If only there weren't one tiny problem: he had no car, nor did he know anyone reckless enough to have a death wish and teach the aggressive Beta how to drive. To make matters worse, his best buddy Mason was leaving him completely on his own for the next two weeks.

Beacon Hills. A rather inconspicuous small town with a population of around 30,000. Influenced by the sunny Californian climate, yet unusually green with a substantial forest region. A place where one might feel at home, were it not for one tiny detail that the outside world was never allowed to know about.
Superhuman creatures, magically attracted by the intense glow of the full moon. Teenagers believed to be innocent, with glowing eyes, sharp incisors, and murderous claws.
Yes, they have lived among us for centuries, and even though the accusation of killing everything and everyone has always been circulating, they are the ones who protect the weaker ones. This includes the resident pack of the true Alpha, Scott McCall, and his inexperienced Beta, Liam Dunbar, the protagonist of the whole thing.
The young wolf had just recovered from the last exhausting battle of the hunters when he was suddenly haunted by dreams. Dreams that seemed so real and reflected what the 17-year-old teenager simply didn't want to admit to himself. Having feelings for someone he was supposed to hate, but who was now so forbiddenly close to him.
Because there was something about the chimera that definitely didn't belong here...

Liam’s pulse kicked up. His skin felt too warm, too tight, like the air around him had thickened. He hated how exposed he felt under Theo’s gaze, like the man was reading him with ease, pulling apart things Liam didn’t want anyone touching.
Theo’s smirk returned, slow and knowing.
“Relax,” he said softly. “I’m not here to bite.”
A beat.
“Not unless you want me to.”
Slowly, a knowing smile spread across Theo’s lips, deliberate, confident, inviting.

Him and Theo’s relationship had started as forced proximity acquaintances at best, centered around Theo driving him everywhere and Liam forcing him to stay and be at his convenience to drive him home. Stiles also deemed it as time for Liam to keep up to date with Theo's “suspicious activities” and report back. Liam had thought that after the first few weeks, the relationship had started to build into something else- a friendship. A friendship where he’d occasionally stare at Theo's ass as he walked away, but a friendship none the less.
Now, something more like friends with benefits. Liam's hand gripped tightly onto Theo's shoulder while the other was placed lower, on Theo's hip, leaving small bruises on the older boy's skin. He let out a low sound that Liam instinctively responded to with a growl before quickly sliding both hands to meet at Theo's waist, flipping him onto his back. Liam couldn’t believe they were doing this again. Couldn’t believe Theo let him do this again.
