Chapter Text

Naruto stood among the ground as they cheered for the final part of the chuunin exams. Shikamaru was on his right and Naruto started the long line of Genin that were going to be battling soon. He was up against Neji Hyuga, the asshole that really hurt Hinata. That was something he couldn’t forgive so easily.

Its not like he forgave people very easily. Oh no, quite the opposite actually. It took a lot for people to be able to earn his forgiveness. Jiraiya had told his father had been the same way It was very easy to gain his trust and friendship, but just as easy to lose it and near impossible to gain his forgiveness. He wish he got to know his sparents.

He shook his head, not the time to think about that now. Sasuke was meant to go first, but he seems to be taking after their always late sensei. But because the boy was the heir of the Uchiha clan, his battle was pushed back. So Naruto got to go first. He smirked to himself as he and Neji stepped forward.

“Fate has already decided, you will lose.”

“Enough with that fate bullshit! Fate and destany doesn’t controll me, I control myself and my future! No one else ever will!”

Neji huffed. “Very well. Then today you shall know that fate is absolute!” There battle bgun.

Neji was not one to hold back. Naruto appreciated that. People older than him he nopticed always held back. He’s always assumed it was to anger him or hurt him to the point where the nine-tails could escape. But he debunked that theory that Kurama would escape all his childhood.

Neji watched as Naruto’s normal blue eyes that reminded him of the ocean became darker, reminding him of a raging hurricane instead calm waves. Neji hummed and assumed that the numbskull was going to be taking their battle serious instead of how he acted when facing that dog boy. Kiba if he was remembering correctly. Who was he kidding, of course he was remembering correctly, Neji wasn’t stupid. He was Neji Hy-

The hell was that!? He barely dodged the chains that shot out at him. He shook his head, he didn’t realize he had been that distracted. He focused back on the loser, only to falter.

Nine blazing orange chains swayed behind the Uzimaki. They were actling like tails to the boy. They swayed and twitched. Neji’s eyes widened as he suddenly had to block a blade. The younger was fast, he give him that. Neji had thought Lee was fast, but he thinks this boy could probably compete with him on that, if Lee didn’t have his weights on that is. Neji needed to focus! What was with him suddenly getting so distracted?!

Everyone in the stands was quiet, watching so intently. The cheers had been so loud at the beginning of the fight for the Hyga boy, but now everyone’s eyes were locked in on the boys opponunt.

Naruto stood proudly as the chains twitched and swayed behind him, waiting for the perfect moment to attack. So many recalled that dreadful night thirteen years ago. SO many remembered the chains that broke free of the last living Uzimaki, intent to stop the tailed beast. Except that wasn’t correct all correct.

Because Naruto stood before them all, pulling forth the lost Uzimaki trait of chakra chains. The blond took in a slow breath, eyes closed as he tilted his head back, sending a short prayer to his parents, hoping they were watching over him.

“Let me explain something to you Hyuuga.” Suddenly Naruto’s head snapped down as his eyes opened. The hurricane in his was still there, never leaving. “I’m from an ancient clan just like you. But almost all of them are dead. And the funny thing is, it took all five great nations to destroy the village that my people had resided in.” A slow smirked curled up on the blond’s lips. “The Uzimaki’s are the strongest blood line. Stronger than the Hyuuga or the Uchiha. I’ve learned of my heritage. I taught myself my heritage. Can you say the same for you, Hyuuga?”

Neji grinded his teeth as he harshly glared at the Uzimaki. “You are nothing but a lowly orphan, who are you to say anything about my clan!” His Byakugan came to life quickly. He hadn’t been using it, thinking this fight would have ended quicker.

Naruto sighed as he took off the top of his orange jumpsuit and let it hit the ground. It hit with a loud ‘ THUNK ’. It was weighted, seals having been put on it that made it so. Naruto rolled his shoulders before taking a deep breath.

Suddenly the boy was gone. Neji’s eyes widened, having not even seen Lee move that fast. He let out a startled yelp as he was suddenly kicked in the side hard . He skidded across the battlefield before he quickly caught and corrected himself. As he focused back on the boy, he saw the blond’s blue chakra was starting to spark orange.

Naruto hadn’t used any justsu’s just his chains and tiajustsu. Why was Neji losing?! The brunette wouldn’t stand for this! His destiny was to win this fight, not lose to some punk who thinks he’s strong after one month of training!

Sakura and Ino stood next to each other as they watched. Neither had seen Naruto with such a cold and indifferent face. He had always been loud and obnoxious. Never silent and calculative. They don’t know who this boy was, but it wasn’t the boy they group up near. What had he learned in those two weeks where his sensei couldn’t find him?

Gaara stared confused at the boy. Shukaku was never as loud when the blond was around. He felt calm, like he could sleep without fear that the one tail would be unleashed. He was so confused by this leaf ninja. He honestly didn’t want to go through with the invasion to the Leaf. Gaara blinked. You know what, he wont do it. It’s time for his teenage deficiency stage. He nodded to himself before going back to watching the blond.

Neji doesn’t know what’s going on. None of his jutsu’s are hitting the blond. None of his clan styles are hitting him either. Who is this kid? And what happened to the idiot he was originally going against?! Neji had cuts and bruises from being blasted around. The blond was finally using jutsus, all which were wind by the way. So many of them were advanced that he could tell that they were Jonin level jutsus. Theres no way his sensei had taught him that!

“Hyuuga.” Neji looked up from where he was catching his breath. “I’m going to finish this with one last attach. Lets say it hold a bit of a legacy to it.”

Naruto held out his hand as wind chakra started to gather and form into a ball of energy. Many eyes in the stadium widened at it. There was only two people that ever used that jutsu. The Fourth Hokage and the only person he taught it to, his own sensei, Jiraiya, the toad Sannin.

Suddenly Naruto was infront of Neji, the brunette’s eyes widened.

RASENGAN! ” Naruto hit him with it. Neji went flying and ultimately became one with the wall.

Everyone sat with bated breath. But the older boy wasn’t leaving the wall. The proctor called the match. Medic nin ran to the injured Hyuuga and got him off to the medical bay.

Naruto Uzimaki-Namikaze walked off that field as a winner that day
