Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Summary:

Izuku's POV, explaining his past and present predicaments.

Notes:

I will mention as it was bought to my attention that the actions in this story are exaggerated, not true to life and may be disturbing to read for some. The actions in this story are not to be recreated in an anger management course.

I am not a Doctor or have a PhD in managing anger and have not attended a session before but I can assure everyone it is not like how it is depicted in this story! I describe it in a way for two reasons; Firstly because it is based on the bad conditions in Musutafu city and partly because of Izuku's sense of justice and all round trying to earn his place and respect among the villains so they trust him, they are like one big family basically.

Katsuki may put a spanner in the works but he is trying

Happy ending for all! (Yes, including the villains)

Chapter Text

Katsuki Bakugou was an odd case.

In all the years Izuku Midoriya had been working, never had he been in the company of such a guy.

Obviously seeing and working with no one but villains was acclimatizing him to how normal those same villains he saw on television were. The same people who fought and stole for a living were often sat in his sessions, sharing their emotions and experiences with one another. They had families; wives, husbands, children and pets. They weren't the same as the world described, however being their consultant came with its challenges.

On his first day 3 years ago, he remembers his old placement had decided to let him go, stating that the government had their own plans with him from then on. He trusted the cities power on their decision at the time, however his view soon changed once he saw where he was placed.

Musutafu.

Now, Musutafu was where he grew up, it was a nice city, one of the most populated- with nice neighborhoods, cherry blossom trees lining the streets and a proud school situated right in the center.

Actually that was the Musutafu he knew and grew up in.

The place he was assigned to was the other side of Musutafu, the kind of place you wouldn't leave your vehicle or doors unlocked. He'd seen it on television back when he lived in the a neighboring city to Musutafu and mourned his home city. Seeing it destroyed every couple of days by another villain who decided they wanted a chance at power before successfully being put down by heroes, a chance glance of Eraserhead, PresidentMic, RedRiot and most importantly (to Izuku that is) GroundZero.

Speaking of GroundZero, the news of his temporary suspension had shocked millions, it was almost as if the world had actually stopped in time when it was announced. He'd gone MIA, fallen off of the face of the earth and the world mourned their favorite rude and blunt hero- something Izuku respected most about his attitude, he said it how it was, no shame for who he was saying it to.

GroundZero didn't have a care in the world, something Izuku, himself could only dream of.

So to say he was surprised he was placed in this particular city was an understatement. He swore he'd never return after what happened during school yet here he was, standing outside a pair of crumbled wooden doors. He stared in horror at the fist sized hole in the middle of said doors and pushed the pair to open and stepped inside, surprised they didn't crush under the strain and fall off their hinges. Once his feet connected with the plastic feeling floor, memories of his old school resurfaced and he swallowed.

It was his first day, no way was he wimping out now!

The closer he got to the room number he had been assigned, the more his feet dragged. He heard multiple boisterous voices from inside, only getting louder the closer he got.

By the time he got to the door and peeked inside the glass in the middle there was a full blown fight almost breaking out.

From what he could see, a smaller black haired man and a burly blonde woman were inches apart, the man had obviously said something to rile the woman up and she was retaliating. A muscled arm pulled back and shot forth, squaring the man in the lower jaw, twisting him mid air before collapsing onto the hard floor nose first.

The people behind the woman cheered, pushing her to act further before Izuku's own sense of responsibility – or rather – stupidity, broke forth and before he knew it he was standing in the middle of the very active fight.

Everyone was quiet, silently taking in the situation.

“What the hell, man!” One person shouted from the surrounding crowd, eager to see the fight continue.

“Get the fuck outta the way!” Another said.

“Yeah, get that shrimp out of here!” Now that was just insulting!

Izuku huffed a sigh before kneeling down on the floor and grabbing onto the black haired man's shoulders, shuffling him so his nose was no longer flat against the floor, he didn't move him at first, rule one of medical school taught him that. He examined the man closer, blood trickled from his nose but Izuku could hear the steady sounds of the guy breathing.

Thank goodness... No way was he having a death on his first damn day!

He stood, after checking the man vitals and fumbled into his pockets to retrieve his phone to call emergency services, once in hand he felt it before he saw it. A snatching hand swiped the mobile from his fingers, now in the blonde woman's hand. “You lookin' for this?” She said, a sneer placed on her lips.

“Yes, now kindly give it back.” He made multiple attempts to get it back before she held it above his head, way past what he could possibly reach and received a laugh from the crowd.

“Look look, he's so small, he can't even get his phone.” That earned another gag of laughter.

“Please I need to call emergency services, this man needs urgent care.” He tried with all his might to jump up and grasp the green phone again but alas it was not enough. He heard a quiet cough from behind and noticed the black haired man, now leaning on his side, blood flowing from his nose freely. The sight of that and the building pressure in the room burst into Izuku mind, blurring out all sense of reality around, he registered the injured man and his body acted before he could even think. His right leg swung forth, catching the woman's ankles and pulled, hurtling her down to the floor. A loud thwack echoed through the walls and silence filled the room, a tense mist surrounded Izuku but he did not feel fear, of her or of anyone in that moment. All he felt was the need to help the man on the floor, coughing up his own damn blood.

He outstretched his scarred hand to the woman now on the floor. “My phone, please.” The device appeared in his palm, as if by magic and with a smile he walked to the front of the classroom. The crowd of people parted through the middle as Izuku walked through, phone to ear and talking with the nice lady on the opposite end of the line. By the time he got to the front and sat in the chair available he'd finished relaying the appropriate information onto the emergency services and placed the mobile back into his pocket.

All eyes were on him the moment he put both hands on the table in front of him.

“Who.. are you?” A small voice called out from the back and he suspects it was the woman he'd kicked from her feet before.

He gave his best smile, teeth shining brightly. “I am Izuku Midoriya and I am the consultant of this session from now on. Nice to meet you.”

He sighed at the memory, that was the time he realized, this was no normal anger management course, it mostly consisted of known villains and murderers the government wanted to hide away, it was also the time he knew he had to earn his place with them, gain their trust and help them through in that way.

They were, rightfully, very untrusting of people, especially newcomers.

It wasn't until the newest arrival joined that Izuku saw just how much his clients trusted him, after 3 long years of working that relationship and trust up and it almost bought a tear to his eyes.

He hadn't been meaning to handle the situation how he did with Katsuki, but there hadn't been an argument in such a long time and as soon as this blonde bombshell of a man joined, everyone was back to their secretive and suspicious behavior. Right back at square one. It didn't help that Katsuki didn't fit in very well. He wasn't exactly the nicest of people to get along with and he didn't fit the stereotype of a villain, he just seemed like a misguided young teenager who hadn't grown up properly.

“Yeah well, I heard the government are sending undercover agents to places like this, so you gotta understand, we're being cautious of that.” Oxy-Man declared, pointing at the blonde yet again and Izuku swore he hadn't stopped looking in his direction the whole session.

It was unnerving.

Unnerving at first that is...

The second session came and went, then a third and fourth and before long, five weeks passed. There was a slight run in between them in the bathroom, which Izuku decided, maturely, to overlook and think nothing of. But he couldn't deny the red hot flush coming up from under his shirt collar every time those red burning eyes met his.

Manipulation, Izuku guessed. Maybe that was Katsuki's quirk? Maybe he could grab a certain persons attention and lead them on then poof, dump and deceive them...

Hmm, no, even that was too sinister for someone like Katsuki Bakugou.

Apart from the sailors mouth and frightening sneer, he could've been mistaken as a model, fit and ready for the camera, nice glossy skin, veiny hands, smooth muscular arms and- oh GOD DOES HE HAVE A CRUSH ON ONE OF HIS CLIENTS?!

Notes:

This will be a short story!
