Chapter Text
"HOLD ON. Are you saying that you're the one Tengen-sama mentioned?"
Yuuji couldn't help but feel a sense of amusement as he stared at the gaping teacher, nodding his head indulgently.
"Yup! Itadori Yuuji at your service." He bowed gracefully. A sigh of resignation echoed through the room as he straightened, offering the teacher a sympathetic smile. However, the teacher still wasn’t meeting his eyes.
‘Just like Higuruma-san, I wonder if it’s for the same reason…’ he wondered, biting his lips to conceal the wave of guilt washing over him.
"I understand your aggravation, Yaga-san. This is honestly such a Gojo-sensei thing to do, but I'm afraid you'll have to fight the higher-ups for this again." Yaga only nodded in understanding before gesturing for him to sit down in front of his desk.
"Sit, Itadori-kun. I have a few questions I wanted to ask," he grumbled, watching Yuuji closely as he moved. When Yuuji was settled, the interrogation began.
"Let's get straight to the point. You probably don't want to elongate this talk either," Yaga lifted an eyebrow, settling when Yuuji gave a nod. "I want to know your motives for this world. It's understandable if you don't already have a plan, but I would at least like an overview of your thoughts."
The pink-haired boy nodded sharply again while he squinted his eyes in contemplation. Yaga remained patient; he had to be patient—the boy was their future, after all, if all this time-traveling stuff is true. However, what he didn't expect was for Yuuji to jolt out of his chair with an excited look on his face, hand outstretched in his direction.
Yaga-san! I have an idea if you're willing to listen?" he asked, tilting his head like a puppy—a very dumb puppy at that.
"Go on." Yaga was not immune to Yuuji's puppy eyes, a fact noted by both parties.
“I know how absurd this sounds, and trust me when I say this, but Gojo senpai and Getou senpai are listening in right now. This piece of information is not for their ears. I hope you can consider letting me expand my domain; I promise it won’t bring any harm.”
Truthfully, Yaga was flabbergasted. The first rule of sorcerers was to never walk into a domain unguarded; everyone knew that. But as he looked into Yuuji’s eyes for the first time, he really could see nothing but determination and thinly veiled grief. These were not the eyes of a well-brought-up teenage boy; they were the eyes of a war veteran, a survivor in a massacre, a broken kid forced to be an adult. Yuuji Itadori is not the boy he’s supposed to be, and it hurts the future principle. The scars pulling at his lip, showing just a hint of teeth and the long jagged line on his eyebrow, cruelly slashed downwards already proved his failure. He owed this boy, and that was a fact. Whether or not he’s lying shows in the way he flinches when he rests a hand on his shoulder. It shows in the way his eyes glint in surprise when the older nods and offers a soft smile. The wonder in his eyes looks just like hope—for the future, for this poor boy, and hope that they could fix what was wrong.
“I trust you, Itadori-kun. Let’s go?” The blinding grin was an answer enough, and the boy offered a hand, which he took, gripping it tightly when Yuuji whispered a “thank you.”
“Let’s.”
“Domain Expansion:” A camera pose of fingers, and the world around them faded into white. “Inochi no Kusuri.”
(Yuuji Overview)
Yuuji had always liked his domain and the name that was given to him.
When he first learned rct, Ieiri was the one that helped infuse his healing with his other techniques, but Gojo was the one that taught him to shield. He did not have the precision of Ieiri's rct or the rapid regeneration of Gojo’s, but where he lacked, he made up for in defense.
As a half-curse, his body was already sturdier than normal sorcerers and humans, to the point he could tank a full slash from Sukuna, but the others had no such durability. He had always wanted to help people. Joining the society with pure intentions, but it wasn’t until later on he learned to generate a shield. Cursed techniques work in many different ways, but creating a shield was not a skill that has been recorded.
One’s technique depends on the person’s combat skills and the amount of cursed energy their body holds. With Sukuna’s reserves still battling ferociously in him and his martial arts, it was incredibly easy to create a technique that enhances his body’s stability. The next step was just applying the same thing to a bubble of cursed energy. It’s like Gojo’s infinity but not at the same time. The applying and range of it are the same, but instead of getting slower as you near, the hit will directly impact the shield. That was also where Gojo stepped in to help. The younger had no trouble keeping it up normally, but in fights, his cursed energy fluctuates between Kokusen; Black Flash, which has a higher output and the normal Divergent Fist, making it extremely hard to maintain the shield. But as time went on, the shield expanded, and the durability of it increased, so much so that he could keep multiple layers of the shield up and also distribute it to other parties.
That was the start of his technique “Byobu”.
Byobu kept him and the others stable for a while, a shield he unconsciously puts up by instinct and manually lowers to initiate physical contact, but it wasn’t enough. Besides Ieiri and Yuuta, Yuuji was the only other healer, making him a valuable asset in the fight. It was only a matter of time before he figured out how to infuse Byobu with rct, opening up another chance at defeating the King of Curses.
Yuuji was now a wide-range healer and defensive shielder, one of a kind. Promoted to special-grade immediately, held in high regards and worshipped when his domain developed, so much so that they created a file on him.

Details:
Byoku is a shielding technique that can be applied in layers. It can also be used for healing if one layer is in contact with the skin and another is shielding. Weakness is that the cursed energy would be spread out so an influx of concentrated energy will break the shield, but with multiple layers, it’s not much of a problem. On at all times except when initiating physical contact. Instinctual and not tiresome.
Domain Expansion: Inochi no Kusuri (Remedy of Life) a large domain in which a clear pond and forests reside. The person that enters the domain will immediately feel at peace and lose the will to fight. Only Itadori would be allowed to move/fight. It is only with a strong will to revenge or defeat that you can move a leg or arm. Byoku is also enhanced to be stronger, and healing is automatic. This domain lasts only for a certain amount of time (10 minutes) and will deconstruct, but the amount of cursed energy it takes is very small, allowing it to be used multiple times in a fight. Opponents will still be able to use rct, however, and beware of any distractions from outside.
Physical abilities are incredible. Able to destroy a whole building by jumping and worse through enhancing his body. Claws have also stayed since Sukuna transferred bodies and are extremely useful in combat.
Kyushu (Absorption) is very similar to Okkotsu’s technique. Where Okkotsu copies techniques and “pastes” it, Itadori steals cursed energy from a certain target and converts it into his own after his body analyzes the information. Example: energy from Hana and Angel granted him wings.
