Chapter Text
“Huh? Wonder what she’s doin’ here?” Monty said from the front seat.
“Who?” I asked and sat up as he pulled into the driveway.
He was able to pull into the garage while a car I wasn’t familiar with was on the other side of the driveway. I heard the other car’s door open and close before Monty could even shut the car off.
Then a loud squealing noise as someone raced up to my door.
“Monty!!” A female sounding voice called out.
“Hey-whoa!” Monty stumbled back slightly from the hug he was given as he exited the car. “Heh. What are you doing here, Tica?(Toy Chica)”
“Oh, Montgomery! I heard what that awfully mean T.R. did! I can’t imagine what you must be going through without your little pet…” Tica said in a oh so sweet voice or at least the best she could muster.
She squeezed him tightly as he hugged her back.
“And to do it at night… when it could be eaten by anything or ran over or…”
“Yeah… about that-“ Monty started.
“And those mutts don’t exactly have the sharpest claws. All alone and defenseless out there… if it even survived the night.” Tica continued.
She continued hugging him for a moment longer than Monty was comfortable with and he had to push her away gently to get her hands off of him. She did step back finally so Monty could open the back door.
“But it’ll be okay! I’m here to…” Tica trailed off when the door was completely open and she could see me.
“Fortunately, she was found by a family member so she did survive the night.” Monty said and let me out of the car.
“Oh…” Tica stared at me in shock while Monty held me. “I didn’t know you already found it. That was quite fast! Lucky little…”
“Yeah. She’s really lucky. Fortunately even if my family member didn’t find her she’s still microchipped.” Monty continued.
“I see… well, I came to try and make you feel better about losing it. I can still stay and we can chat and stuff!” Tica suggested, giving me what felt like a dirty look.
“Yeah. Come on in.” Monty nodded and opened the door into his house. Pressing the garage door button on the way inside.
“What a cute little bachelor pad! And it’s just you here right?” Tica asks as she looked around.
She turned back as Monty set me down and took the leash off.
“It was until I picked up a souvenir from my latest trip!” Monty patted me on the head then nudged me out of his way.
“Yeah… cute little thing. So what do yah do when we aren’t at work?”
The two giant aliens continued their conversation into the living room. I wasn’t sure what they were talking about but I was fully aware of the fact that Monty still hadn’t fed me yet.
I grabbed my food bowl and followed them to the couch.
“Hey, Monts,” I said as I placed the bowl into his lap.
He reached out and pet my head as he continued looking at the new chicken.
“Hey! Aren’t you forgetting something?” I pawed at his legs.
Monty glanced down and realized what I meant.
“Oh shit! Sorry, Rockstar, I did forget! I’ll grab some food for yah now!” He grabbed the bowl and stood up.
Monty told Tica he’ll be right back. And to stay there for a moment. When he returned, he sat back down.
“Pretty needy. Isn’t it?” Tica asks.
“Nah. She just hasn’t eaten since before I left last night. So she was starving and I did say I’ll feed her when we got home.” Monty answered.
“What’s it like being able to talk to animals like her?”
“Pretty useful. She told me what happened last night so that will never be a unsolved mystery or anything.” Monty explained.
After I ate, I walked back into the living room. Only to find this new chicken touching Monty. Rubbing her hand on his leg like they were that close. But they weren’t. They couldn’t be since I never met her before.
Monty’s arm was over the back of the couch and he didn’t seem uncomfortable with this. Or how close she was to his body for being just friends.
They continued chatting as I approached them. After watching for a moment, I decided to step in to get her to stop. I myself was uncomfortable with this whole thing when they weren’t even together.
Plus he can do better than her. I just knew it even if I can’t understand her.
I suddenly crawled into his lap and kneed her in the hand. Which to be fair was an accident and that’s when she let out a high pitch yelp.
“Ow! Damn thing got me in my hand!” Tica said as Monty lifted me up so she could move her hand.
“Sorry about that.” Monty replied setting me in his lap and petting my head. “I’m sure after last night she just wants to be close to me.”
“Yeah probably.” Tica said, yet again giving a dirty look my way. “Can’t you cuddle her later though? You have a guest right now…”
“I could…” Monty looked down at me and I looked back up at him.
“What?” I asked. “If I hurt her, that was an accident!”
“I know. I know you didn’t mean to hurt her hand. Just thinking of putting you down is all.” Monty replied.
“But then I’ll crawl right back up!” I said, not telling him my bad vibes right now.
“Yeah. That’s true.” Monty chuckled and patted my head.
“So…?” Tica asks.
“She’s staying in my lap. She doesn’t want to be put down.” Monty said.
“But is it really up to her to decide? I mean she is a pet after all.” Tica argues.
“Well no…”
“Then just push it off your lap! Remind it you are the one in charge. You can cuddle all night later when I leave!” Tica continued trying to make a point.
“Rockstar,” Monty thought on it then set me down on the floor. “Roh.”
“Why?” I looked up to him and used his knees to pull myself back to my feet.
“We can cuddle later.” Monty answered.
“But…” I glanced at the chicken who I swore was giving me a dirty look. “…I wanna cuddle now!”
“Later, Rockstar. I promise. Go lay down until then. Okay?” Monty says.
“What if I actually crawl back into your lap?” I asked.
“You’re getting put right back down.” The chicken inched closer as he said this and began stroking his leg.
“Nah. I wanna be cuddled now!” I practically jumped back into his lap.
Within seconds, I was back on the floor. Monty held my collar and was leaning forward to be closer to me.
“I said no, Rockstar. Stay on the floor or I’m putting you outside.” Monty threatened.
I frowned. He released the collar and sat back. The chicken went back to stroking his leg and I inched closer to the couch. Remaining on the floor as Monty stared at me suspiciously. Fully expecting me to jump in his lap again.
When I didn’t, he reached down and pet my head.
“That’s better.” He praised.
“Not very friendly. Is it?” Tica asks.
“Usually she is. It’s just been a rough 24 hours for her.” Monty answered.
“Looks like she wants to bite me!” Tica mentioned.
“I won’t let her.” Monty said, putting an arm on the back of the couch again.
“Monty, who is this? Why is she touching you like that?” I asked, hoping he’ll answer now.
“She’s a friend from work. She does it and similar things there too. No clue why you’re so on edge and don’t like her when you just met.” Monty says.
“Evidently I’m seeing things you aren’t.” I replied, sounding more snarky than I meant to.
“You can still go outside.” Monty replied just as snarky. “Maybe it’ll fix your attitude problem.”
“God forbid I wanna be close to you after last night…” I rolled my eyes and looked away from them.
If Monty wasn’t worried, I shouldn’t be either. But I still didn’t like the vibes this chicken gave off.
“Lay down and take a nap. How about that?” Monty asks and I grumbled under my breath as I laid down at his feet.
“Is she done being a little brat?” Tica asks.
“For now. Maybe she’ll go to sleep.” Monty replied.
Their conversation continued in their own language for a few hours. I did what I could to just ignore them. Wanting nothing to do with what they were doing. Out of sight, out of mind.
Finally, after who knows how long, they stood up. Monty stepped around me and led her to the front door. I took this chance to jump onto the couch and looked over the back of it.
Just as she gave him a peck on the cheek. I just stared at her in disbelief. Who did this bitch think she is? And that wasn’t a friendly peck like some people do. That among everything else was straight up flirting.
I watched as she left and he locked the door behind her. Then walked around his sectional couch and sat down again.
“Alright, you’ve waited long enough.” He grabbed me with ease with one hand and put me in his lap. “Was the wait that bad?”
“Yes.” I grumbled.
“No clue what your problem is. Never saw you react like that to anyone.” Monty said as he began to lightly rub my belly.
“I just didn’t like her vibes…” I muttered.
“Uh huh. And yet you liked all of my other friends vibes? Tica is harmless. Sure a little flirty but it’s not like I’m cheating on anyone. I’m not even in a relationship!”
“Your friends never rubbed your leg in an extremely flirty way. But at least you recognized that is what it was.” I replied.
“And what exactly do you know about how we date on this planet?” Monty asks.
“Damn got me there.” I admitted. “Even though everything I’ve seen seems to be similar. Especially on those late night sitcoms… can’t understand a single word but the actions are familiar enough for the context.”
“You actively watch the tv at night?” Monty chuckled.
“Sometimes if I can’t sleep or if I wake up before you.” I shrugged.
“Guess it’s a good thing I leave the tv on for you when you’re in the cage too.”
“Yes. The silence would kill me so having some background noise is pleasing to hear when I’m alone with my thoughts.” I replied back.
His claw suddenly hit a ticklish spot and I squirmed in his lap. Trying to hold in a laugh as he continued rubbing my belly.
“Oh? Did I find your favorite spot? Huh? Did I?” Monty smirks, knowing that’s exactly what he did as he rubbed that particular spot.
“F-Fuck off!” I giggled feeling his claw tickle me.
“That’s not a very nice thing to say to your owner…” He said before continuing my ticklish torment.
