After a few hours has passes Macaque and Mei were now sitting inside the cave looking for anything that they may use as a weapon, what went unsaid was that it was for Mei concidering that her sword is not in her possesion currently.
“So... Macaque, h-how are you doing?“, Mei asked wanting to make small talk with her previous enemy.
Macaque only continues looking through dirt when he turned towards her and said calmy,“ Good.“
Jikes , thinks Mei she thinks for a moment about another topic they could talk about,“ how-how do you feel after the fall you took by the way?“, probably not the best thing to ask but anything is better than nothing.
Macaque just looks at Mei with an irritaded expression, seems like she touched a nerve.
Looking away from Mei he continued looking,“ sorry that probably was a stupid thing to ask...“.
A few moments passes when Mei grew awkward again,“So I heard from Tang that Monkey king killed yo-“,“ Dont. “, Macaque cuts her before she could finish her sentence.
With a taken back expression she muttered,“Rude“.
But ofcourse Macaque heard it and snaps back,“whats rude is you asking those kind of questions“.
Before Mei could defend herself he quickly says,“so I dindt find anything even resembeling a weapon we should go.“, without waiting for an awnser he left the cave, leaving Mei to quickly catch up with him.
“No need to run like that“, She says looking up at Macaque, going towards Lotus she picked them up and placed them on her shoulder to make it easier for them to follow her and Macaque.
“yea yea whatever, we should go exploring so that we can actually find shelter for tonight“, he said already walking towards a random direction into the forest.
“Why? I think this cave is plenty shelter“, mei ask genuinly confused, for that she only got a look from Macaque before he huffed and shook his head,“I know that Wukong and Mk may live like this but I thought that because of youre Fire-boyfriend that you would not-“,“HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND!“, mei yells while blushing at Macaque but he blantly ignores it,“But I guess this was expected from someone who hangs out with those two a lot.“.
Angrily she stombs over to him falling into his stride beside him,“What does that mean!“, looking up at him she waits for an awnser the only thing she got in return tho was him looking at her with a smug look.
Turning away from her Macaque walks faster away from her,“and what does that mean!, WHY WONT YOU AWNSER ME?“, Mei shouts after Macaque.
“color me suprised but from afar you dont seem like the type to get angry fast, and to be honest it does not suit you“, Macaque randomly says.
Blinking in suprise Mei realises too how angry she gotten, she is not one to get angry outburst like that ,that was pigsys thing.
Shaking her head she speaks,“ youre right, I dont usually get this angry...“, looking down she silently follows macaque.
Finally, that got her to shut up , Macaque thought but after a few Minutes passes he stops in his track only for Mei to accidantily go into him not seeing that he stopped.
Looking up she asks,“something the matter?“, Macaque turns around and looks down at her seeing her expression he lets out an angry sound and voiced,“ stop being so mopey, it makes Me sad“, after that he continued walking only hearing a quiet sorry.
Hearing her voice sound so tired he grew guilty, ok now I just feel bad for saying that... maybe I could cheer her up. Macaque thinks suddenly he gets reminded of a past memory about wukong and him. Shaking his head only for my benefit .

soft crying could be heard from afar, curious Macaque followed the sound.
Walking around the tree he saw Wukomg sitting byhimself against the tree silently or atleast as silent as he could to cry, slowly he made his way towards him when a stick snapped under him.
Suprised he stops and at that moment Wukong looks up,“Whos there!, oh its just you macaque...“, He says seeing him.
A concerned expression now on Macaque face he walks over to him,“everything ok wukong?“, Wukong only let out a tired sigh,“ ofcourse why woulndt it be? Its not like I accidantily caused us to go at war with the celestial realm and thus killed thousand of my little mokey!“
“Wukong...“, macaque starts sitting down next to him, Wukong coninues not listening to him“I mean like IM THE MONKEY KING SAGE EQUAL TO HEAVEN, IMMORTAL 7 TIMES OVER or something... I shoulndt be sad“, He fiished looking at macaque,“ comon tell me im stupid for crying“, He orders macaque.
Macaque only looks at him with a worried expression, Wukong turns away“ dont look at me like that...“, He softly voiced,“ I-I dont deserv-“ before finishing his sentence Macaque hugs wukong,“your not wrong for crying wukong...“, anyone would.
That seemed to slightly break wukongs walls he build after his time at heaven down, with shaky hands he hugs macaque back,“ if you say so“.
Little did macaqze know that this would be the last time he saw Wukong like this, He woulndt allow it.

With a saddend expression he softly beginns,“ you know... Monkey King adn I used to be friends, close friends maybe just as close like you and MK“
Mei looks at him supriesed opening her mouth but then closing it she lips her lips and then asks,“ what happened, you dont seem to act like friends right now“
He laughs silently,“ well alot happend... I wanted to help but he saw me...“, macaque stops touching his right eye trying to find the right word,“ he saw me as a threat for his new friends.“
“oh... why if I may ask?“, Mei ask wanting to know more, looking suprised macaqie looks down at her,“ why so formal all of the sudden?“
Embarresed mei tries to explain,“well-because... ehm haha i j-just thought it would not ruin the moment, but I guess it did“, she awnsers laughing to herself, that making macaque laugh in return.
Mei eyes grew hearing him laugh, looking at he Macaque asks,“what?“
Smiling she tells him,“ im sorry its just I dont think I heard you genuilly laugh before“
Seeing her smile he puts on a smile to not destroy the moment,“what no you heard me laugh plenty of time, remember the time before you blasted me with your sword?“
Shaking her head she says,“ no. You werent laughing at those times“, raising his eyebrow he asked,“ oh yea what was I doing then?“
“acting“, she simlpy says making him stop to look at her.
Before he could awnser she yells,“AHHH!“
Worried macaque runs to her,“Why are you yeelinnnG“, macaque ask before tripping over a rock Mei previously tripped over too.
Rolling down the mountian side he used his shadow portal to teleport infront of Mei to catch her and protect her from the fall.
“ow“, Mei yelps after they stopped falling, holding herself up she sees Macaque below her,“oh did you try to protect me?“, she ask with a smile.
“get. Off.“, Macaque tells her not waiting for her to react when he threw her off, he hears another yelp from her.
Rubbing her head she says,“ dindt have to push me off that hard“,“you are heavy what can I say“,“HEAVY?“, Mei yells at macaque.
Pointing at her he ask ignoring her previous remark again,“ yo where is your pet“
Huffing she tells him,“ lotus is not my pet, they are my friend and they are rig- wait where are they?“
looking around, Mei suddely screams,“ OMG WE KILLED LOTUS“, covering his ears macaqe yells back,“ NO WE DINDT AND IF WE DID WHOS FAULT WOULD THAT BE? MISS I DONT LOOK WHERE I AM GOING“
“Oh IM GONNA- oh wait thereds lotus“, mei resalises seeing lotus above them on a tree branch.
Lotus only looks at them, when then lotus jumps to another branch.
“and there they go“, macaque nonchalantly says.
Looking into the direction they went Mei and Macque see a village,“ a village here?“; mei ask macaque while walking towards the the village gate.
Macaque shrugs,“ dosnt seem weird, its normal for old villages to be around random places“.
Mei humms looking at he gate trying to see if it had a name,“dosnt seem to have a name either“,“not every village has a name“, Macaque says walking further into the village.
Following him quickly she ask,“where are we going?“,“inside“,“why?“, Mei ask him looking around the village,“dosnt seem to be in good condicion or having anything valuble“.
Annoyed Macaque tells her,“ it dosnt need to be pretty for us to sleep in it, now dont complain its getting dark“
Nodding Mei follows him quickly into a random hut,“just lay down whereverer“, looking for a comfterble place shefound blankets and pillows, building a makeshift nest she snuggles into it,“ I would do that if I were you, who know how old they are“, slightly cringing she pulls the blanket off of her.
Seeing him sitting on a stool beside her she asks,“ arent you gonna sleep?“,“nope“.

“Why?“,“Im not tired“, Macaque awnsers her.
“you sur-“,“ just go to seep, yo have a tiring day before you wich includes lots of trainign“
Excided she jumps into a sitting positiomn,“REALLY, WOW IM GONNA GET MY OWN MYSTIC MONKEY MENTOR“
“yeah yeah now go to sleep!“, macaque orders pushing her from the head onto the makeshif nest.
Huffing she mutters,“ meh meh meh im macaque i got to stay up late while the Dragon sleeps meh meh“
Siting there in silence he lets out air, finally, then he hears mei turning and moving around.
He tried to ignore it when it then got to much for him,“ can you stop that?“,“ sory I cant sleep okay?“
Sighing he rubs his eyes,“ i can belive im asking this, why cant you sleep?“
Blushing out of eberrassment she whispers,“ because I dont have my plush with me..“
Chuckeling Macaque ask,“ youre not serious are you?“, looking at her for a second he realised,“ you are serious wow“
Looking around for a moment he sighs again, this kid,“here“, he says throwing something at her.
Grabbing it she saw a makeshift plush monkey with three ears made out of shadow,“what is this?“,“A plush“,“is this supposed to be y-!“, „sleep before I make it disappear!“
Hugging the plush thight she quickly says,“ NONONO, thank you!“, turning away from macaque she finally closes her eyes letting sleep overtake her.
Seeing Mei sleep in a makeshift nest with something of his made something stir inside of him why did it remind him of bay monkeys?, chill out she ain't a baby monkey, he tells himself looking away into the night.
