Chapter Text
“Ugh, and then guess what she did?” New Zealand rolled her eyes to emphasize her point that what she did was probably questionable. “What?” The other 3 siblings asked. “She pulled my hair and tripped me on the floor.” “She better pull up, no one hurts my sister.” America said. Australia nodded in agreement while Canada wasn’t sure. “Uhh, violence isn’t always the answer.” “Sure, whatever floats your boat.” America stated. “So, anyway, I pushed her down the stairs and gave her a concussion.” New Zealand continued, earning a chuckle from 2 of her siblings. “I don’t think that was necessary but you do you I guess.” Canada never was the one to fight back or take revenge, heck he was the one to apologize when it isn’t even his fault. “Oh cmon, live a little, Cancan!” Australia agreed with America. Canada tuned himself out of the conversation, he excused himself and went upstairs. Soon after the siblings talked about drama and finished their food, they followed. France and Britain also went upstairs after washing the dishes, doing some cleaning, and watching television for a while. America was so bored so she decided to go into Canada’s room for ideas. She suddenly heard something. The door was unlocked so she went in. “CANADA WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING!” The American was flabbergasted. “SHIT, I FORGOT TO LOCK THE DOOR!” “THATS WHY YOU HAVE YOUR DOOR LOCKED ON MONDAYS!!” “Yeah..” “I didn’t think you would be the type of person to enjoy that, but…okay.” She walked away from the door, traumatized with wide open eyes. Never would she go to Canada’s room for ideas when she’s bored. She reached her brother’s room. Australias door was decorated with stickers and magnets all around. Most of them were jungle or animal themed. She opened the door carefully.
There was Australia and New Zealand having what seems to be a tea party. There was one vacant chair and 4 occupied, one of them recognizably being occupied by “Mr. Teddy bear” along with a bunny stuffed toy and obviously the twins. As soon as she walked in, they noticed her. “Come sit down and join the tea party!” New Zealand urged her sister. “We have edible biscuits and real food!!” Australia said. “Alright, I’ll join.” She sat down, taking the last vacant chair. She just realized her siblings were wearing some type of fantasy clothing, New Zealand’s looked like a princess meanwhile Australia’s resembled a prince. “Are you guys doing another role play?” “We sure are!” They exclaimed together. “You can join us and be the knight!” She laughed and accepted the position. They continued their tea party, discussing how the play will go. “When I fall from the tower and escape, Ame will catch me and safely put me down. We will all escape together from the evil kingdom!!” New Zealand shouted proudly. The feast was finished as the food had been diminished. “Mr. Teddy bear will make sure we don’t get caught!” “And Miss. Rabbit will make sure he does his job!” “Of course he will!” “He doesn’t look like it!” The twins started bickering. “Okay stop, both of them will keep watch to protect each other and all of us.” “Fine.” “It is not fine but whatever you say.”
Australia stuck his tongue out. “Ugh! Stop that will you.” America face palmed. When they stopped fighting they put their play into action. That was until they heard a noise from downstairs. It seemed to sound like the kitchen appliance clattering down on the floor but they were curious. They snuck out of the room, making sure to be as silent as they can. America signaled them it was clear and they went on to find out what it was. They found the room where the noise had supposedly started from. The door didn’t pose much threat. It looked like an average door you could buy from IKEA, it didn’t look different from before. They looked at each other before turning the knob. The room was dark, with the lights turned off and colder than usual. “BOOO!!” “AHHH!! WHEN WERE YOU HERE??” America jumped on instinct. The maple leaf country laughed to himself. “There was a loud noise, wouldn’t we all be curious?” “I guess you’re right? By the way, have you seen Australia or New Zealand? We split up to investigate.” “No, we should look for them right now.” She nodded and was handed a flashlight as they both started looking around for the twins.
…
“Canada?” She looked behind her and didn’t see him there. Wasn’t he there like 2 seconds ago? She shrugged it off and found another door. How much doors were there? She opened this one and found a pleasant surprise. “HAPPY BIRTHDAYYY!!!” They all shouted, not all in sync so it didn’t sound totally robotic. America froze. “My birthday was 8 months ago.” Her family followed suit but Canada had mustered the courage to say something. “We know but we weren’t able to celebrate it because we all had something going on. Today, we all met up to make it up. We planned all of this out and we’re very sorry about not having enough time.” “No no, I understand. You all had your important events you needed to attend. You don’t have to make it up, it’s not your fault. You didn’t have to do all this for me.” “No, we did. Listen, your birthday is as important to us as it is to you, so please just celebrate with us.” “I agree with that!” Australia and New Zealand whisper shouted. Uk and France nodded their heads in acknowledgment. The American eventually gave in and they all started celebrating.
“Ame! I bet you can’t eat more marshmallows than me!” “Oh? You bet!” The two countries started grabbing lots of marshmallows in a bowl, the competition would begin soon. “Wanna race me? This will show who’s the best!” “As if you would win, I’m better!” “I didn’t say I was going to win…” “I know you were thinking that Aussie, don’t even try to deny it.” The two hopped into the race cars quickly, ensuring their safety putting their seatbelt on. The twins were par on par with each other, staring intensely. “I can’t eat any more marshmallows… This is too much and I can already feel the consequences.” The striped country said. “Yes! I win!” Her oldest younger brother shouted. “Uh oh.. I won but at what cost?” The twins were tied. 4-4, New Zealand had won the first half while Australia won the second. This was the last round to determine who would win. The sound of the motors repeated over and over again, you could see the twins closer to the finish line. One of the twins were speeding up and was about to win. “AND I WIN!!” New Zealand proudly exclaimed. “Who’s better now, huh?” Australia’s spirits sunk, he was down for a little while until his twin suggested they go get ice cream sundae. “Oh. My. Gosh. I will never participate in eating too much marshmallows again.” “Agree. Let’s just go get some ice cream sundaes, I see the twins there.” “You’re right Cancan, race you there!” She started running. “That’s not fair! You had a head start!” He hurriedly chased after her. All of the siblings met up at the ice cream sundae parlor after a series of events.
…
“So… Who’s going to go order?” “I say Ame does it, it’s been a month since she has. All in favor?” Everyone except the striped starry country raised their hand. “Alright fine, I will.” She walked up to the main counter to place an order. “Wait, what do you guys want?” “Surprise us!” Australia said quickly. “Hey I was about to say that!” New Zealand responded. Canada just gave a thumbs up. ‘I guess I’ll just get them what I think they’d like.’ She turned away once again and looked at the menu for a while before deciding what her siblings would want. “I would like to get 2 chocolate, 1 strawberry and 1 vanilla ice cream sundaes.” She told the cashier. The cashier started calculating the price. She took the time to take a look around at the interior. The decoration was breath taking. There was a mixture of plants and flowers around the counter. A few sculptures of ice cream was spotted, well that’s pretty reasonable, it is an ice cream parlor. The lights were unique, shaped in crescent moons, hearts, and stars, they also seemed to be led lights. The comfy chairs and the clean tables her siblings were sitting on, the cherry on top was the cozy vibe from the glowing lit up words on the wall and the messages there too. It felt so welcoming.
They weren’t the only customers there, the atmosphere seemed to be busy and bustling with lots of other people. “Your total will be $21.44 with tax.” She pulled out her wallet and got her credit card, successfully swiping to pay the amount. The woman handed her a beeper for when her orders ready for pick up and a receipt. She strolled back to her siblings, sitting down beside her brother Canada. Canada peeked to look at the receipt. The other siblings followed, not being able to keep their curiosity. “You really know us well huh?” Canada chuckled. “I didn’t expect that.” The twin whispered. “Wait, how’d you know strawberry was my favorite?” “A genius never tells her ways.” New Zealand eyed her, licking her strawberry ice cream as well. They conversed while eating their delectable icy treats.
“What do you guys think we should do now?” New Zealand stared, waiting for any suggestions. “I’m going to die from boredom if no one answers.” It was silent for a while, America wearing earphones and slightly heard her sister’s suggestion. Australia who zoned out, and Canada who just didn’t care and wanted to go home and rest. A certain someone spoke up. “We should definitely go shopping.” The other siblings froze in place, thinking the same thought. “You’ve gotta be kidding me.” Australia and Canada deadpanned. “You’ve gotta be kidding me!!” They ran (only America and New Zealand did) to the local mall since it wasn’t too far away.
On the second floor, they stopped in front of a familiar shop. In big bold letters was H&M, with others in the store already. In the isles were bundles of clothing which both America and New Zealand admired. Looking around the store was tedious for Canada as he just wanted to sleep. Australia didn’t care anymore and actually started looking for some clothes too. Eventually, he got Canada to get some clothes too. After the siblings had gathered up and showed all their clothes that they were going to buy, they all agreed to split the price. The grand total was $206.78, pretty expensive huh? But they’re pretty rich so that doesn’t matter. All of them noticeably had a mood booster. America was more energized while New Zealand no longer held boredom in her face. Australia was happier than before with his belongings and Canada just rolled with it. Someone’s stomach growled. The girls raised an eyebrow. “I guess I am a lil hungry.” Australia sighed. “Well then, time to go to a food stall!” The two girls skipped forward, paving the way.
…
“Now this is what I’m talking about.” Australia grinned. “Don’t talk while eating your food you oaf.” New Zealand scolded him. America looked paranoid, constantly pushing up her sunglasses. Canada noticed and asked her what’s wrong. “Nothing’s wrong… I just have a feeling someone’s watching us.” “It’s alright, we all have each other.” America nodded her head in agreement but still felt uneasy as Canada tried to reassure her. America squinted her eyes at a food stall. Near there was a person wearing all black clothing, not showing anything to give them away. “Nada, do you see them in the corner…?” The starry flag mumbled, taking a bite out of her taiyaki. “Yes.. It’s pretty strange, they’ve been following us around the block.” “Hmm…. You’re right. We need to keep an eye on this person just in case.” The two siblings spoke as the twins were talking about something else in the background. “Imagine if you painted your nails and dyed your hair the same color on the same day!!” “You’re totally right! Sorry for calling you an oaf earlier.” “Nah it’s fine, truce?” “Truce.” The two shook hands, with genuine emotions on their faces. As the four ate at the occupied table, the odd figure just seemed to be there. As if they were watching them.
