a soft rainfall pitter-pattering on the large bay window
two sets of breathing, almost in unison
a pale hand softly running through indigo hair
two others focused on sketching the sight outside
this bay window surely wasn't made for two
but that was okay
they didn't mind squishing into each other like lost puzzle pieces
gentle lips on pink cheeks as the room filled with the scent of vanilla extract
twirls around a cat that loved to get in the way
a tray of shortbread cookies
the only kind he'd like
broke in not quite half
the bigger portion went to him
rosy eyes smiled as they handed it
and he had no choice but to take it
no choice but to smile back
small succulents bloomed with pink and orange flowers
small corner stores hidden from the world
yet he knew where they were
the lights were orange and soft
the shoppers never judged
finding things hidden from the world seemed to be this pale haired boy's specialty
warm meals and soft blankets
head falling asleep on a shoulder
a gentle kiss, a gentle touch
a gentle life
nothing ever died in here
it was too soft, too gentle, too loving
nothing ever died in here
and that included its tenants

because of some simple words
