Chapter Text
“Does the voice sound like it’s coming from you? Like inside your head?” Gale said with a calming tone. Gale looked up and saw John blowing a kiss at him, he giggled at that.
“How long have you been married?” The little girl brought him from his thoughts. “2 years now” Gale smiled. “The voice, it feels like it’s coming from behind me, like it’s using me.” Gale nodded. “I used to be happy to go to school, it was like my safe space.” She sniffled. “Now everyone makes fun of me and calls me weird. Not even my friends like me anymore.” The girl spoke in a shaken voice.
“I know what that’s like, you know, having your friends turn away from you because you’re “different.” Gale said. “It took a long time but, I finally found someone who believed me.” “What did you do then?”
He looked at John, who was now staring at him from the kitchen window, “I married him.” Gale said smiling.

“Ow” John yelped
He was fixing the sink and pinched himself. “Are you okay?” A little girl said.
“Don’t you worry about me young lady, I’ll be just fine.” John said brightly.
“How do you handle all the scary things that happen to you?” She asked. “Well when I was a little older than you, I went to my dad and told him that there was a monster in my closet.” John couldn’t believe he was talking about his past.
“He took me by the shoulders and said, “Johnny, nothin’ is in your damn closet. Now go back to your room an’ be a man.” John sighed, “Turns out there was something in my closet. I had finally found someone who believed me. You wanna know what I did then?” John asked.
“You married him?” The girl said. John ducked his head out from under the sink to look at the little girl, “So you’ve heard this story before.” John huffed happily.
Just then, Gale walked in and John got up and smothered him in kisses. The girl had giggled at that.
