Gale is a 2x gold medalist in Equestrian. He is one of the only people who do all three events; Dressage, Cross Country, and Show Jumping. Gale grew up up with horses because his father is a horse trainer. Gale has competed at the Olympics three times on his heart horse, a 17hh chestnut mare named named Fashioned Lovergirl aka Willow.
John is on the US Rowing team. He first got into rowing when his mom took him out kayaking and he loved it. John took his kayak out every morning, when on his 16th birthday his mom signed him up for rowing lessons. This is also John's third Olympics, but he has 1 gold medal and 2 silver medals.
John and Gale first met at their first Olympic Game, and it was like love at first site. After a few weeks they started dating, Gale tries to go to as many of John's practices and competitions, but his father has him working like a dog being to stuck the baby horses that his dad won't train. John is able to go to all of Gale's practices and competitions because it doesn't interlap with his schedule. John hates Gale's father and tries to tell him that Gale is going to end up getting hurt because of how hard he works him. Gale's dad says he doesn't care and needs Gale to train this way to keep up his rank.
At their second Olympic Games John proposes to Gale right before the cross country and Gale says yes. During cross country, Gale has a rotational fall at the jump John is at and breaks his pelvis and his wrist, dislocates his shoulder and pulled his back. Gale has to be rushed to the hospital with John right by his side. Gale makes it out alive and gets to see Willow again who had no major injuries done to her whatsoever. They wait for the Tokyo Olympics to get married and Gale has an amazing comeback getting gold for individuals.
