Chapter Text
Over the next few months, everything starts to fall perfectly into place and Hitoshi wouldn’t have it any other way. Yuzuki’s adoption becomes official and Hitoshi takes her, Hatsuko, and Etsumi out to dinner to celebrate and they go get ice cream together. They make a whole night of it and it’s definitely a memory that’s going to stick with Hitoshi for a long time.
Hitoshi made the final decision to become a teacher after Yuzuki’s adoption, he genuinely just felt as if he didn’t have enough time to be a completely-there father to his three girls while doing full time hero work. He’ll stick to teaching with a normal schedule and then doing hero work strictly when he’s completely needed.
Then there’s a lot of introductions that have to happen. First of all, Hitoshi has to meet Denki’s ex-wife and that was a whole experience that he’d rather never re-live. Though, he did actually get along with her really well and they both bonded over having their hearts broken by Denki; who did not appreciate that conversation.
Then, Hitoshi meets Denki’s daughter, Aiko, and that was the absolute most nervous that Hitoshi has ever been in his life. He won’t even lie, he did bribe the kid with candy and ice cream but, well, it worked, okay? She adores him and they get along really well.
Then all the kids had to meet each other but that was no issue, Denki’s daughter fit in with Hitoshi’s daughters immediately. Etsumi damn near kidnapped her to her room so that they could play together.
It really wasn’t long until Hitoshi and Denki got married, in fact Denki actually moves in before they’re officially married; just because he decided it’d be dumb to sign a new lease at the place he was staying when they were so close to getting married. Whenever Denki’s daughter came to stay with them for a week (Denki and his ex-wife have 50/50 custody so they alternate weeks that they get Aiko), she’d stay with Etsumi in her room. The two girls became best friends in the blink of an eye and whenever they were together, they were absolutely inseperable.
As for the wedding itself, neither of them really felt any kind of need to plan a huge wedding, they just wanted to get married. They used Hitoshi’s backyard as the venue and just invited a few close friends as well as their family.
Izuku was a part of the wedding and he and Bakugou came together, of course, and congratulated them (Read: Izuku congratulated them and Bakugou yelled, “Took you fuckers long enough!” only for Izuku to berate him for swearing around children), Momo and Kyouka were both a part of the wedding, so was Ochako. Iida came but he stayed in the audience.. It was honestly a very nice day all in all.
Hatsuko was Hitoshi’s “best man”. Then all three younger girls, Aioki, Yuzuki, Etsumi opted to be flower girls (Yuzuki was nervous she was too old to do it but Etsumi quickly changed her mind on that). Let’s just say there were a whole lot of flowers in that small aisle. They also had a small area with a picture of Denki’s son, Arata, and some candles to honor him so that he could be a part of the wedding too; Denki cried when Hitoshi showed it to him.
Hitoshi’s parents - Aizawa and Hizashi - and sister - Eri - were there too, of course. Denki’s whole family came. Overall, it was a very nice ceremony and they both enjoyed it significantly. It ended with Denki, Hitoshi, and their four girls laying in the backyard staring up at the stars.
“I really like the stars,” Yuzuki mutters softly, entranced by the night sky that she’s staring up at, “I think space is really pretty. I wish I could travel there one day.”
“You should be an astronaut!” Aiko chimes in.
Etsumi agrees quickly, talking about how cool it would be for Yuzuki to study space and go up there and see it so close up.
“Did you guys know that’s what I wanted to be when I was a kid too?” Denki asks with a dope grin on his face, “I was obsessed with all things space.”
“Even after he started training to be a hero, he was still obsessed with all things space,” Hitoshi corrects.
Hatsuko snickers and mumbles something about how Hitoshi was so obsessed with space too and that obviously came from the fact that he was so in love with Denki.
Hitoshi immediately chooses to ignore her because sometimes that’s all he can do. He does think about her point though, he’s always been kind of really into stars and space in his life and he definitely got that from Denki.
When they were in high school, Denki used to always come get him so they could sneak out of the dorms just to watch the stars, it’s always sort of been their thing; Watching the stars while Denki speaks endlessly about the vast knowledge he has of space. Then, even during their mission, this is where they ended up; on the floor, laying down, staring up. Now, they’re sitting here with their kids and it feels like everything has gone completely full circle. Hitoshi feels absolutely complete, like there’s nothing else he could ever need.
It’s almost like this is where they were always going to end, like it was written in the stars and them constantly taking the time to watch them just cemented that fact.
