Here is the penultimate chapter. I hope you enjoy reading it and that it resonates, even just a little, with those who take the time to read it.

Chapter Text

Kudou Shinichi stopped, slightly agitated. He took a deep breath, scanning his surroundings with a gaze he had been maintaining for over ten minutes.

“Nothing?” Kaito asked, approaching from another path.

Shinichi shook his head, placing a hand over his face in visible frustration.

“Where the hell could they have gone?” he muttered aloud as Kaito watched the colored lights begin to turn on throughout Tropical Land, lighting up the park with a burst of color.

“You’ll need to use your phone, Shin-chan,” Kaito suggested with a smile, his tone light against the tense atmosphere.

Shinichi sighed deeply. He wanted to find Hattori and talk to him face-to-face, not over the phone.

However, before he could take out his phone, a thunderous noise echoed throughout the park. Shinichi watched in shock as several amusement rides abruptly stopped, as if someone had cut the power. Everything was plunged into darkness, and the screams of panic began to fill the air.

He quickly pulled out his phone and dialed frantically while watching the crowd move towards the amusement areas in search of answers.

“Where are they?” he asked as soon as the call was answered. He turned his gaze to one of the tallest and largest rides when he heard Hattori’s response: they were on the Ferris wheel. What the hell? Everything was in shadows, and that place was dangerously vulnerable—. “We’ll find a way to get them down.”

“Shinichi, look at that!” Kaito shouted, drawing his attention to a helicopter rapidly approaching the Ferris wheel.

“Be careful!” the detective warned Hattori before hanging up, his eyes fixed on the helicopter now shining its light on the Ferris wheel, as if searching for someone.

“Shinichi,” Kaito called, but Shinichi’s mind was already racing, analyzing the situation with precision.

“The Black Organization? If it were them, what could they be looking for here? They’ve cut the power to all the rides… Are they trying to prevent someone from escaping? And if I’m not mistaken… this…,” Shinichi thought, placing a hand on his chin as he observed the helicopter’s lights focusing on the Ferris wheel. “Their target is right there… This is dangerous.”

Suddenly, the multicolored lights of Tropical Land blazed with blinding intensity. Shinichi and Kaito, along with many others, instinctively shielded their eyes from the glare. Kaito, anticipating what was coming, reacted swiftly.

“Shinichi!” Kaito shouted, throwing him to the ground and covering him with his body just as the crash of the shattering colored lights echoed throughout the park. Fragments fell everywhere, injuring many people in their descent.

“What the hell is going on!?” the detective exclaimed as the panic-stricken screams intensified and the crowd began to scatter, trying to escape from the amusement park.

At that moment, darkness began to envelop the place, interrupted only by the pale glow of the full moon illuminating the skies, adding an even more sinister touch to the scene.

“Kaito, if I’m not mistaken, those people in the helicopter are looking for something or someone on the Ferris wheel… And considering the initial blackout of the rides, I think they have accomplices all over the park. We need to get there and get Hattori and Conan out!” Shinichi declared urgently, his eyes reflecting growing concern.

Both cautiously got up from the ground, and Kaito, nodding firmly, took Shinichi’s hand, urging him to follow.

Meanwhile, Conan watched the helicopter’s lights with a cold, contained fury. His hair was blowing wildly due to the wind coming through the broken windows. The light shone directly on his face, but it seemed to affect him not at all. He merely bit his lower lip and moved closer to the windows, focusing on the men in dark glasses who were watching him from the air. Narrowing his eyes and activating the zoom on his lenses, he magnified the image of the helicopter. He saw three people aboard: two men and a woman. The woman was in charge, piloting the helicopter, while the other two were responsible for aiming and shooting, something he deduced from the weapons they carried. He also noticed that one of them held a kind of golden compass, its needle, shaped like a red ‘P’, pointing directly at him.

“Damned scum… So, you came for this…” Conan murmured, his voice heavy with disdain as the reason for Hattori’s death became painfully clear. “I swear none of you will leave this alive…”

His blue eyes glowed fiercely, as did the small, striking golden piercing in his left ear. Conan raised one of his small hands towards the helicopter, which continued to hover close to him, making noise and creating a whirlwind with its rotors. Slowly, he opened his palm, pointing at them, and then began to close it tightly, as if his hand were the claw of a wild beast.

“Are you sure it’s there?” the woman asked, removing her dark glasses while maintaining control of the helicopter, casting a cold glance at the two men.

“It is,” one of them responded, putting away his rifle. “The boss never makes mistakes. One of those kids must have it.”

“I hope so,” grumbled the stockier one, a light-skinned man who looked with contempt through his dark glasses. “We haven’t been watching the detective and that little brat, who are always trailing behind that idiot Kaito Kid, in vain. It’s very possible that thief entrusted the jewel to them.”

“Then let’s get down to that damned ride already. The kids must be dead by now,” laughed the man with an arrogant chuckle, but just at that moment—. “Hey! What’s happening!?”

The woman and the other man looked in shock as their companion began to rise into the air, being pulled out of the helicopter as if by an invisible force.

—What the hell!? —the other man with glasses tried to grab him, but it was futile. His companion only swayed before being lifted into the air, screaming in terror.

“Stop him! What the hell is this!?” the man shouted as he felt something choking him. He placed his hands on his neck, struggling to breathe, desperately writhing as his nails dug into his own skin, trying in vain to tear away the invisible cord that was strangling him.

From the Ferris wheel, Conan watched with contained rage. His blue eyes glowed with a dangerous intensity as he clenched his small fist, as if he were the one actually holding the man in the air, choking him from a distance with a mysterious force.

“Hattori died because of you…” Conan murmured, his voice deep with anger and disdain. With a sharp movement, he closed his small hand into a fist, and the man in the air went completely limp. A dull sound of something breaking filled the air; his neck snapped, and life ended instantly. With another swift motion of his hand, Conan threw the body directly into the helicopter’s rotors, where it was mercilessly shredded.

He heard the desperate screams of the other two crew members. The remaining man shouted to the woman that they needed to flee immediately, but Conan, with another quick clench of his hand, made the compass with the red ‘P’ needle, as well as all their weapons, explode into pieces, plunging the survivors into even greater panic.

“Hurry! We have to get out of here!” the man screamed, feeling his dead companion’s blood dripping on his face, increasing his terror.

But before they could react, the same man came into Conan’s field of vision. With absolute terror, he felt his body starting to rise into the air, being dragged out of the noisy helicopter just like his unfortunate companion. His horrified scream echoed through the night as his eyes met Conan’s, who watched him from the broken window of the Ferris wheel with that cold, calculating gaze. Conan kept his palm extended towards him, controlling him.

“That kid is still alive!” the man screamed as he felt his head beginning to be compressed slowly, as if an invisible force was crushing it. And seeing Conan’s shining, furious eyes, he knew it was him who was doing it. “He’s… a… de… mon…!”

Suddenly, a familiar shout echoed through the night.

“Conan!” The voice made the boy turn quickly. In front of him were Shinichi and Kaito, the latter dressed as the phantom thief Kaitou Kid. Both were clinging to the edges of the Ferris wheel, looking for a way to get in. Kaito had brought Shinichi there using his glider, likely propelled from a tall building.
