Chapter Text
When Dream finally crashed back down into his regression, he immediately started crying. Sapnap sat them up, rocking them back and forth and soothing him.
“Mama…” Dreamie cried, “M’sowey, Mama. I’m so sowey,” He whispered.
“It’s okay, my love, it’s okay. Mama’s here. Mama’s here,” Sapnap whispered, kissing the little’s forehead ever so gently. “Mama hasn’t gone anywhere, and I never will. I’m never gonna leave you, baby. Mama will never leave you.”
Sapnap looked up as Punz appeared in the doorway, staring at them for a moment. “Is he?” He mouthed, and Sapnap nodded. Punz exhaled softly, nodding, blinking a few times before turning on his heels and leaving the doorway. Sapnap didn’t question it, for now.
“I’ve got you, my love. It’s okay. I’ve got you,” Sapnap continued to whisper until Dreamie cried himself to sleep. Sapnap sighed, holding Dream as close as he could. He wanted to badly to take any pain away, keep him safe, hold him forever. He knew he’d have to let go at some point, but right now? Right now he just stayed and held him.

Things didn’t go back to normal instantly. Dream still struggled letting little Dreamie free some days. Sapnap, however, was there to remind him that everything was okay, that he was here, and he wasn’t going anywhere.
George started regressing as well, but it was easier for him to let go when he noticed Dream was little.
It was rough, little Dreamie was so reserved again that it reminded Sapnap of where they were when they first met… hell this was different. Little Dreamie wasn’t really ever afraid of himself, afraid of regressing around anyone. Now… now Sapnap didn’t really know how to help him realize that’s it’s okay.
“Mama,” Dreamie whispered through his paci, and Sapnap hummed as he rubbed Dreamie’s back, the little was laying on him. “M’scawed…”
“Where you scared, baby?” Sapnap whispered.
“Don’s wanna hur’s anyones ag’ins,” Dreamie whispered.
“You won’t, baby, I promise,” Sapnap whispered. “Because we know know, and we know that we can help you, and we want to help you.”
“‘Ou’s sure?” He whispered.
“I am so sure, baby,” Sapnap whispered.
Dreamie curled up into him and sniffled lightly. “I wove you Mama,” He whispered.
“I love you too, baby. So much,” Sapnap whispered.
