Chapter Text
Once all the spreading of the news happens between the main cast, the characters start to notice how things around them are changing. For one, people are following them and make a big deal out of any meet-ups that happen between characters that aren’t from the same group. For example, people taking pictures of An and Haruka meeting up, people figuring out the Tenma’s and Hinomori’s are siblings, and Ichika and Nene getting caught singing together.
Now, the cast is avoiding hanging out with their other friends, but people still aren’t respecting their boundaries and keep acting like paparazzi around them. However, I thought I would use this next arc to move forward some of the ships.
Some ideas for this were:
1. Mae Yuu (the player dude) bumps into Kohane and An and tries flirting with them. But the two girls push him away and tell him to essentially piss off. Yuu starts getting a little aggressive and An punches/kicks him. The lesbians run off hand-in-hand and Kohane thanks An in a thin alleyway. It’s kind of awkward and cramped, so An just ends up spilling all about how she loves everything Kohane does and they end up dating. They received backlash from people online because they’re gay, so people remove their votes from them.
2. Some girls at school think that they’re hot or something, so Akito and Toya run and hide during lunch. Toya quickly pulls Akito into the restroom and traps him against the door. Toya shushes him with his finger and they notice the position they’ve put themselves into. (this next part was so unnecessary but i wrote it into my brain anyway) But, one of Rui’s drones was filming them in the bathroom and the two boys see it. Akito confronts Rui, but Rui explains how the drone was missing from the beginning of the day and he thinks someone stole it. The footage was posted online and all the girls that thought they were hot, changed their votes from VBS to a different group because they were upset. (why did i think of making the entirety on vbs in this fic suffer from homophobia? vivid bad squad? more like vivid “being gay is bad” squad, amirite you guys /sarc)
3. Haruka teaches Minori how to disguise herself in public. There’s a whole makeover montage thing I was planning on, but all you need to know is that there’s a lot of fluffy physical contact. Though, I remember one really cute scene I thought of where Haruka styles Minori’s hair and hides it under a cap and Minori is just silently exploding every time Haruka’s hand grazes over her face.
4. Leo/need is the lowest voted group on the poll and Shiho pushes the group to keep practicing, even if people don’t like them. They push themselves to play and someone (idk who would fit this the most) would confess how they feel so much better where they’re around and playing with the others, and not just in a friends way…
5. i can’t remember anything i was going to do for ruikasa, despite it being my go-to ship.
(If you’re wondering why there’s no ships for half of MMJ and WxS and none at all in N25, it’s cause I don’t know much about Airi/Shizuku, I wasn’t sure if Emunene would fit into this story, and Nightcord has too many problems for me to be worrying about romance.)
Nightcord eventually gets their identities revealed by an anonymous user and people bombard them in real life. Kanade can’t handle the pressure and passes out, Mafuyu can’t hold her good girl persona anymore and lashes out, Ena is upset because people only started following her art account because she’s a part of N25, and Mizuki gets outed about her secret again, causing her to lock herself in her room.
From these stories, we get clues as to who posted the poll out of the OCs. There would be one chapter title not formatted like the rest of the chapter titles, something mysterious like “i can see you.” In the chapter, it describes a new sekai, born by only one person’s feelings. The sekai is completely organized, but has no life to it. It belongs to Aoki Yuka, the girl An hall-monitors with. In the middle of the sekai is a single broken mirror and a phone on a table next to it. The phone shows the account of the social media profile that posted the poll.
The sekai also has a view of the world between sekai’s and Yuka manipulates the original Virtual Singers to slowly corrupt the other sekai’s to expand hers. It’s easy for the VS because the main cast is slowly losing hope. But because of the stories from before, all of them find their true feelings again and don’t let others get it the way of what they want to do.
This causes Yuka to get upset and her sekai starts becoming disorganized. Yuka doesn’t get caught, but her sekai gets completely destroyed. She gives up on making her own perfect world and makes a post telling others not to harass the groups in the poll and to remember they're each their own individual person. Then the fic ends with her deleting her account.
I know that there’s probably a lot of plot holes, that this could have been executed a lot better, and that the concept wasn’t pushed to its full potential. Nevertheless, I still liked having this story floating around in my mind. I hope you enjoyed reading this fic, even if it’s just by a little laugh somewhere.
