Chapter Text

Most of the Hargreaves siblings were gathered in a park. Marigold blossoming next to a nearby tree. Lila thought it ironic, Luther was a little bit worried. Not for any good reason, hopefully.

Luther, a firefighter, came into contact with Ben, a young teenager in this life, while saving him from a burning house. Klaus was walking by the street, when he noticed Ben. His Ben. Luther saw the two and cried.

They exchanged contact info, and eventually all of the siblings got into contact with eachother. All except one.

Nicky Harper was still no contact with them.

Claire and Grace played in the park, running around and being loud. Good kids.

Diego was cooking up hamburgers and hot dogs, etc.
Lila would be the one serving people. A wonderful couple, that are currently just chatting.

Alison and Klaus entangled in friendly chatter with Ben and Luther chiming in every now and then. A domestic life without drama of any sort.

The background was full of birthday party decorations. Party hats, presents, cake, a piñata. A colorful sign was hung up, ‘Happy Birthday Grace.’

Lila’s family were all engaged in conversation, Dave and Allison’s husband conversing themselves.

“Get some food!” Lila called, already making plates for the kids. Claire ran towards the family.

Grace was no where to be seen. This gave the former Umbrella Academy pause. Every second Grace was completely out of sight was another drop of sweat forming on the skin of the former superhero’s.

“He’s here! I told you he would come!” Grace’s voice rang out. Causing everyone’s head turned towards a little bit towards the left from where Claire came from.

Grace was running up to her family, hand holding onto a young man’s wrist so tightly it might bruise. Lila’s eyes widened, Klaus gasped dramatically.

Next to Grace, was Nicky Harper. When he finally said hi, Lika punched his shoulder, Klaus and Ben hugged him. Luther almost felt like crying. Allison smiled.

“What did you really think I was going to miss my nieces birthday party?” He asked, an unfamiliar smile taking over his face.

The party continued on, though eventually the family get their curiosity forcing their hand.

They surrounded Nicky, almost desperate for answers.

“Why? Why did you.. for so long, avoid us?” Diego asked, tone coated in concern.

“I-!” Nicky rushed to defend himself, but that wasn’t how he should go about this. Even if they weren’t necessarily ‘his’ family, he loved them nonetheless. He loved them so much he knew he needed to tell the truth. Even if it meant ruining eveything.

Thankfully the kids were fast asleep nearby, the suave crash hit them hard.

“I’m losing my memories.”

Notes:

Thank you for reading thus far. I can’t continue this story, perhaps it might’ve been better just to discontinue this, but if I didn’t give it At least a shitty and rushed ending I don’t think I could’ve moved on. I’m so sorry.

Ao3 fic writer curse is real :( I am not strong enough yet to face it.

Notes:

(If this were to be longer, I would’ve included this scene.)

Dawn leans her head against her brother’s shoulder. She wondered if he is even still her brother.

“Couldn’t you have been my brother a little longer?” She asks.

“I still am Dawn, I’m not going anywhere.” Nicky responds. For the first time in his life, Five is being honest when he says he’s staying.

“It doesn’t always feel like it.” Dicky states. His voice wobbling ever so slightly. Nicky brings his hand to Dawn’s head on his shoulder., and says to Dicky standing infront of him.

“You guys are my family, my home.” It’s not Five or Nicky talking. It’s both.
