Chapter Text
After Alíx and Mylene were now immobile due to Shade, Ladybug, Cat noir, Rena Rouge, Carapace, and Queen bee gathered everyone inside one of the banquet halls in the hotel.
As everyone went inside the ballroom, they proceeded to not only lock the door, but they also grabbed every chair and table just to block her off her from finding them.
“Do you think this will hold them off!?” Nathaniel asked as he, Nadja, and Jagged got the last three chairs.
“I’m positive!” Ladybug said as she and Cat noir also bolted the windows as well. As everyone was finished with blocking Shade from entering, they all gathered together to listen to Ladybug, Cat noir, and the other heroes speak.
“Carapace are you okay?” Queen bee asked as she noticed how The turtle themed superhero was looking around the room.
“Oh I’m fine, I’m just making sure that no one gets in here!” Carapace said as he was glancing at everyone just to make sure that Shade didn’t possess any of the other heroes or their allies.
“Alright, the first order of business is to make sure that we know her weakness!” Cat noir said as he got everyone’s attention.
“She hates it when people show any bravery and she’s also sensitive to loud sounds!” Roger said as he was listing Shade’s weaknesses.
“Bingo, that’s it! When she came into the party, you could tell how she groaned after she turned the music off! We could create some home alone styled traps!” Ladybug said until she noticed that she was about to transform back to normal.
“Hey Rena rouge, I want you, Carapace, Cat noir, and Queen bee to take over because I have to go take care of something very quick!” Ladybug said as she ran off into a corner of the banquet hall.
“Spots off!” Ladybug shouted as she transformed back into Marinette. As Marinette became herself, she later gave Tikki her cookies as a way to recharge.
“Dig in Tikki!” Marinette whisper-shouted as she was giving Tikki her remaining cookies form her purse.
“Marinette, you seem to be all cool when handling this fiasco!” Tikki said as she was munching down on her three cookies.
“Tikki, this night has been exhausting and I just want to fast forward to the New Orleans trip in June.” Marinette sighed tiredly as Tikki was now onto her second cookie.
“Marinette, you got this! Don’t give up because I know you can fight that vampire-ghoul!” Tikki said as she was trying to encourage Marinette from not giving up on her mission.
“You know what, you’re right Tikki! I’m not giving up because I can do this!” Marinette declared as she got ready to transform into Ladybug again.
“Spots on!” Marinette shouted as she transformed into Ladybug back again. as Ladybug went back to go reunite with the group, she saw that Cassie got back from a funeral.
“Cassie what’s wrong?” Ladybug asked in concern as everyone was quiet.
“While you were gone she confessed to us something that is very important.” Michael said as he and Cassie looked at each other.
“Go ahead Cassie.” Fred Haprèle said as he gestured her to walk toward Ladybug.
“I am responsible for Deena being akumatized.” Cassie declared out loud as she was shaking on her words.
“Wait, what happened?” Kim asked as the others proceeded to look at Cassie after she made the confession.
“As we were getting ready for the party, I felt nothing but jealousy and bitterness towards her when she talked about the relationship she had with her grandma because I didn’t have a good relationship with mine growing up.” Cassie said as she got all choked up.
“My grandma was a narcissist who never cared about anyone but herself and it got so bad that not only did my grandpa divorce her after he won a lawsuit against her after she stole money from him, but my mom had to file a restraining order on her after she kept on harassing us.” Cassie said again as she got all misty eyed and started to wipe some tears away from her cheeks.
“I messed up and I’m sorry.” Cassie declared as Michael was rubbing her shoulders.
“Cassie, thank you for being honest but do you want to know something? Don’t let it consume you because that is how Shade and Hawkmoth will win.” Cat noir said as he helped Cassie up.
As everyone was in the room, they suddenly felt someone break the door down.
“It can’t be.” Clara nightingale said.
“No, no, please no.” Ladybug uttered as she felt a huge booming wave in the room and all of a sudden, everyone was sent flying into the walls of the ballroom. After they were sent flying, they saw that Shade was standing in front of them.
“Hahahaha, you think you can out run me!? Well you’re too late!” Shade cackled evilly as she created fog in the room as a way to separate everyone.
“Ladybug, Cat noir, where are you!?” Nathaniel shouted as the room was all foggy and everyone was trying to find each other. As Everyone got lost, Nathaniel finally ran into Marc, Clara, Ivan, Jagged, Philippe, Juleka, Nadja, Sabrina, Fred, Manon, Max, Nathalie, Penny, Jagged, and Rose.
After most of the group met up, they later saw Ladybug, Cat noir, Carapace, Queen Bee, and Rena rouge come in with Marlena, Etta, and Ella Cesaire.
“Where’s Kagami, Ondine, Luka, Kim, Andre, and Aurore!?” Sabrina asked in fear as the others were looking for the remaining pre-teens. All of a sudden they saw their silhouettes appear in the fog but they seem to be in a trance.
“Andre what’s wrong?!” Queen bee asked as she saw that the mayor had red eyes just like the others.
“Luka are you okay!?” Juleka asked as she saw her brother looking the same as well until Shade came out of the shadows.
“Oh you foolish mortals, you have no idea what you are getting yourselves into!” Shade yelled as she teleported in front of the heroes and other civilians.
“With my pendant right here, I have taught your loved ones that they only need to serve under me as my fellow creatures of the night and by my rules, they only serve me! To all my fellow creatures, attack!” Shade demanded as she used her pendant to command Ondine, Kim, Aurore, Andre, Kagami, and Luka to use their new vampire abilities to attack the others.
“Venom!” Queen bee shouted as she tried to use her powers on shade but she ended up freezing Luka instead as he was crawling towards her on all fours.
As Juleka and Marc were in the hallway banging pots and pans she basically threw the two of them across the room.
“Ugh, you know I hate loud noises!” She screamed as she was activating her sonic scream abilities. As Ladybug was looking from afar she decided to activate her lucky Charm.
“A garlic bracelet?” She wondered out loud in confusion until she saw that Shade was hot on her tail.
“LADYBUG, I DEMAND THAT YOU AND CAT NOIR GIVE ME YOUR MIRACULOUSES AT ONCE!” Shade yelled as she was using her chains to attack Ladybug who was dodging her attacks in the hallway as everyone was fleeing the ballroom.
As Lasybug held the garlic bracelet, she then saw in her Ladybug vision on how she could use it.
“Everyone gather around in this corner because I know how we can defeat shade!” Ladybug urged as Cat noir, Rena rouge, and the others followed her as she was about to discuss plans on how to defeat Shade once and for all.
