Chapter Text

The laughter echoed in the cabin, a contagious sound that dominated the night landscape, eclipsing the whispering of the nocturnal animals that lived in the surroundings.

The atmosphere was quite enjoyable, at this point the happiness was palpable in the place.

Even the sound of two glasses made a small echo in that cabin, apparently both friends were catching up to the fullest.

──── My goodness, only you are so stupid to believe that it would be good to try to eat a guy like that ──── Josh said between laughs noticeably amused by his friend's story.

──── Fuck, I know, but what could I do? It was the only thing there was and I had run out of ideas. ──── Peter replied, still amused by his own story. That was really his worst experience with blood. That guy tasted horrible.

──── You're a fool. ──── The wavy-haired man added while laughing softly.

This was definitely the beautiful sight of a great reunion between two great friends... We could even say that it was a family reunion, although obviously incomplete due to the lack of his friend.

──── I know, I know. ──── Peter looked happy. Honestly, there was nothing nicer than finally being able to see his dear friend again. More than that, his brother.

Silver was still happy, although he remained silent when he saw that Peter had changed his mood again. Suddenly, he had even remained silent and with his gaze down, even squeezing the glass in his hand a little tightly.
The curly-haired man could do nothing but look at his friend and put a hand on his shoulder trying to get his attention.

──── Peter... what's wrong? ─── The wizard asked with noticeable concern in his tone of voice, he didn't understand why he had become serious out of nowhere.

He got no answer, that vampire was still serious, his brow even furrowed a little and in the end he only let out a small sigh of frustration, he looked up again and looked at his companion.

───── Silver... ────

They both stared at each other, for a moment the tension was that feeling that took over their surroundings.

──── When you caused that explosion in the castle... ──── The vampire paused briefly, for a moment hesitating whether to continue with his doubt ──── What happened to you? You just... ──── Before he could continue, he was interrupted by the small sound of the glass breaking, followed by the sounds of glass shards falling around him on the floor.

Silver kept his fist clenched, letting the glass shards press against the injured skin of his palm as blood began to fall lightly.

Silver watched as the blood dripped from his hand, creating a small red puddle on the wood of the cabin. However, he didn't show a hint of pain, only a heavy silence that filled the space. Peter frowned, worried about his friend's reaction, but before he could speak, Silver broke the silence.

— Why are you asking that now, Peter? — he murmured in a "calm" voice, well, somewhat forced, although in his eyes something else was reflected, perhaps guilt or a trace of contained anger.

─ Well... ──
The vampire hesitated on whether to continue, Silver did not seem entirely comfortable with those questions, but he did not want to be left with the doubt either
── That day you simply used your magic to change our directions... I never knew where Kenny was, it was too difficult to even find you ───
Peter paused, but finally continued
. ──── Where did you get that magic from? ────

Silver simply remained silent thinking about what to answer, maybe he should have been honest from the beginning.

──── This condition... I became a vampire until you caused that explosion ──── The largest one mentioned trying to explain more or less what he wanted Silver to answer him, although Silver still had a lost look. ──── What was it that you... ──────

Before Peter could continue, Silver interrupted him while digging out those pieces of glass from his hands that luckily were not difficult to locate and remove.

──── I should use my magic to heal my wound faster, it is expelling a lot of blood. ──── The wizard had again diverted the subject while a small energy appeared that surrounded his hand beginning to slowly heal the hand of the tired-looking man closing that wound.

─── Don't change the subject... ──── The taller one demanded, noticeably annoyed by that quick change of conversation. He seemed to be avoiding the subject.

──── So you didn't find Kenny? ──── Silver questioned calmly.

──── No... I came for that too ──── The burly vampire commented as he let out a heavy sigh, once again gaining the attention of that warlock who once again placed his tired gaze on him.
──── I wanted you to help me look for him... ───

Silver simply stared at Peter, then laughed softly.

────You know it's dangerous, right? Do you even know where we should go? ──── That wizard questioned with a small hint of mockery, maybe he just wanted to provoke his friend to completely derail the conversation they had had previously.

──── No... That's why I want you to come ──── Peter answered sighing heavily to finally begin to explain that situation. ──── You more than anyone can help me find Kenny ────

That wizard with wavy hair simply looked at him attentively listening to those words from his friend, thinking about what he should do.

Just thinking that something might be happening to Kenny made his hair stand on end, and even more so if he thought about the possibility that it would be his fault even if what he did was for the good of the three of them and the torture they had suffered in that period of time locked up by those who took the kingdom.

Even with that, Silver still felt that it was his fault that Kenny was lost.

Silver remained silent for a long time, the sound of the wind that filtered through the cracks of the cabin became the only companion of the conversation. The tension in the air was palpable, as if everything was waiting for a decision. Peter watched him patiently, knowing that behind that cold and distant look, Silver was struggling with something deeper than a simple doubt.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Silver whispered:

— I know, Peter. I know. — His words came out with a softness that contrasted with the weight of what he had said. — Uhh... Well, I guess I can't refuse ─── Silver replied with slight doubt in his voice.

──── No... Please Silver, do it for the good times ─── Peter added looking worriedly at the other, making Silver let out a heavy sigh.

─── Only because you're the one asking me. ──── Silver replied while scratching his neck gently.
───── Maybe we can find more food for you around there. ────
He joked, laughing softly.

Clearly Peter still remembered the question he had asked earlier, he still remembered that Silver still owed him some explanations, but he would be patient, he knew that it surely wouldn't be such a good idea to ask again at that moment.

The best thing would be to wait and for Silver to eventually feel more comfortable talking about it...

He knew that Silver probably still felt guilty about what happened, even if he didn't feel any kind of resentment towards him.
Whatever he had done, he knew it was to save them.

And that was the only thing that mattered.

Notes:

I really wanted to do a story about Type O' Negative without any kind of shipping. Just the beautiful friendship of this band. And obviously, some angst.
