Chapter Text
Dipper walked over to the man, glancing back over his shoulder to ensure Mabel had McGucket distracted. He looked back to see whoever was fronting in a defensive position as if expecting Dipper to harm them. So, Dipper held his hands up gently, causing the person to flinch back roughly.
"Don't. Ford brought a ray gun with him and I will use it." The person hissed and Dipper's eyes widened.
"Hey hey hey! I'm not gonna hurt you! I don't like hurting people! Too many have hurt me." He said as an explanation, the being raising an eyebrow in return. "I'm Dipper Pines, who are you?" Dipper asked.
"Will Cipher, from dimension XC18, also known commonly as Reverse Falls. Erm, he/they." Will said, looking a bit uncomfortable.
"He/Him, thank you, Will. I'm not going to hurt you; I just wanted to check on you, especially since you seemed extremely eager to cause some pain. Which reminds me, is he dead?" he asked, pointing to Ivan.
"I'm a demon, of course, I'm eager to. Especially someone who threatened to hurt this dimension kinder version of my Master. And yes, I angled my head to push his nose back into-"
"Okay, okay, okay. I don't want to know more." Dipper shuddered in slight fear. Can I ask what dimension C18... uh, whatever it was you said, was like?" He asked, and Will sighed, leaning against a wall.
"You've met this dimension version of me, Bill Cipher, right?" They asked and continued at the boy's nod. "Do you know how it and Mas-it and Ford's relationship was?"
"Kinda, Grunkle Ford doesn't want to talk about it but I found his 3rd Journal. Where he wrote about it." Dipper explained and Will nodded.
"Imagine that but reversed, and a lot more cruel. Master Stanford demanded I possessed Ford for a little bit, due to some stuff going on, I caused someone to break mentally. Then I came, I'm kinda like-"
"Like a bit of the demon but also without any sort of powers? Just memories and personality."
"Exactly. So I know the shit that Master Stanford did, and nothing was kind. I can't tell you, kid, you'll never forgive yourself for asking. Now, want to explain why you have a twin sister when from what I managed to overhear you were an only child?" Will asked and Dipper grinned slightly.
"I'm like Grunkle Ford. Mabel is like you in a way. She's an alter. Bill Cipher offered me a deal, it'd bring anyone who wanted out and all I needed to do was take care of myself. It felt bad for me." He said with a shrug and Will nodded in understanding.
"So I'm not completely different from it. Good to know." Will said before looking around, drinking in the environment.
Dipper just watched, staring at him and trying to figure out what he could based on how he was acting. The boy wasn't originally good at social cues and reading body language but after it became essential to living, well, he became a pro.
Will seemed fearful and yet protective and annoyed at once, Dipper reasoned, based on the slight angle away from him still and the way they also narrowed their eyes in annoyance slightly at some of his questions. The protectiveness was obvious by the way that Will's hands clenched in anger when he heard about how Dipper didn't like to hurt people because he was hurt often.
His hand also rested on the gun around their waist the entire time, even as they lightly kicked the man he killed.
And that stopped Dipper's watching as he felt nauseous at the realization. That was a dead body. He just watched someone get killed. His heart started to race as he stumbled back, reaching for a wall, but instead finding a chair from an exhibition. He sat down, the world spinning. He couldn't take his eyes off of the body.
There's a dead body. Someone just died in front of me. Not died, murdered. By a head shoving back into his no-stop. Don't think of how. I think I'm gonna get sick. He was just murdered, sure he was threatening our memories but oh my god. He thought before blacking out.
Will looked over fast as he saw the preteen boy vomit before just slumping over, eyes closed. They were immediately worried, running over.
He felt over the sweaty boy's neck, finding a rapid, fluttering pulse. He looked at the elderly man and the boy's twin sister before yelling out. "Kid! Call 119! Old dude, get a blanket and hurry! He feels like he's going into shock!" They yelled before carefully picking the boy up and laying him on the ground, yanking the sweater off of himself and bunching it, sliding it under the boy's legs.
He watched the boy's chest rise and fall before the girl came running over, dragging the old man behind her. She was listening to the phone operator before tensing.
"Yes ma'am he does, he's got a chest binder on. You want me to do what?" She asked and Will looked at her, the girl looking incredibly uncomfortable.
He couldn't focus on that though, the man had brought a fire blanket. The demon grabbed it from his hands, laying it on Dipper before they heard Mabel speak up.
"Dipper needs his binder off." She said and Will's eyes widened before looking down at Dipper.
She can't do it, she looks like she's one wrong statement away from a panic attack. Not like Mabel Gleeful at all. And this guy's mind should be swiss cheese at this point if he's Fiddleford McGucket. He can't do it either. Come on William, you can do it. Will thought before awkwardly but determinedly reaching to feel above the clothes for what kind of binder.
He felt a zipper and went to pull it down over the shirt, not wanting to invade the boy's privacy more than he had to. A hand lightly grabbed onto his wrist.
"What the absolute fuck are you doing, Stanford Pines?" He heard before they looked down, finding the boy's hand grabbing his wrist but eyes yellow slits.
"Shit, I uh." Will swallowed anxiously. "I'm not Stanford Pines, I got triggered to the front because Ford's life was in extreme danger. Like death danger. I'm Will." He said and the hand loosened slightly before tightening again.
"Okay, Will. What are you doing trying to torment this boy more than he's already been?" Was hissed out and Will looked disgusted.
"I would never! He's in shock. Feel how you're anxious and exhausted but also like your heart is about to beat out of your chest? That's shock. No tight clothing can be allowed, it makes it harder to help. Now either you can or I will but the binder has to come off." Will lectured and a sigh was heard.
"You are another dimension of me. Turn the two away and you do the same, Dipper has enough trauma and doesn't need more." Bill lectured before waiting for the three to be turned before rushing to finish unzipping the binder, gasping for air.
Will immediately turned around, gently pushing Bill back down all the way.
"You have to rest. What's the girl's name?" They asked and Bill's eyes darted.
"Mabel, Mabel Pines. You should know that she just isn't a Gleeful." Bill said and Will rolled his eyes.
"Mabel, how long until the ambulance is here?" Will asked and Mabel repeated the question.
She listened for a moment before standing up and running to the door, adrenaline making her move faster than she really should have. She threw the door open, paramedics rushed in almost immediately and Will rushed to stand up.
"He's just regained consciousness. His life was threatened by the man on the floor, I am unsure if he's alive or not. I had to keep my grandniblings and my friend safe. His name is Dipper Pines, he's 12 and is in my custody. He was dragged into here by said man on the floor, we three came in because we had seen a gun on him." Will said as an EMT worked to take Bill's blood pressure.
Bill was just letting it happen, looking at Will with a look of fear. It scared Will, Will was supposed to be the one who was afraid. Not Bill. That's when he made a decision.
"Fiddleford, I need you to drive Mabel back to Stan's. Tell him there was an emergency and me and Dipper are at the hospital. Mabel, you explain what happened." He said before they set a hand on Mabel's shoulder, kneeling to be at her height. Mabel looked worried.
"Grunkle Ford, what's going on?" She asked as tears fell.
"Dipper is okay, Mabel. I need you to be strong, okay? I know you can be, do you hear me Mabel Gleeful?" He asked and Mabel frowned.
"Gleeful? Are you okay?" She asked and Will shook his head.
"I'm not Ford." They said quietly. "Tell Stan it's a code yellow, he'll know what it means because of me. If you start feeling faint or dizzy or sick, you tell Fiddleford or Stan immediately. Do you understand?" He asked and the girl nodded. Will smiled at her tightly. "I'm going with Dipper, you're too young but I'll call as soon as I hear something," Will said and Fiddleford started to pull Mabel away.
Will stood up and looked at the EMTs, four of which were helping to lift Dipper onto a stretcher. He walked close enough to grab Bill's hand, nodding at the scared demon, knowing it wasn't a situation like his. It was Bill.
"Everything is going to be okay, your just going to go to the hospital and get treatment. I'll be here the whole time." Will said and an EMT stood up.
"Another ambulance is coming to check on those two. We need to get him to the ER, you need to come." She said and Will nodded.
"I understand, let's go."
