Peter is 3 when his mother dies, his mom's sister May and May's husband Ben are given custody of the boy. Then when Peter is 6 Ben and May die and Peter's biological father takes custody of the otherwise orphaned boy.
After losing his mom then his aunt and uncle, Peter is out into the care of a neglectful Tony who barely acknowledges Peter's existence on a good day. Tony's friends The Avengers are much the same towards Peter.
Enter Harley another of Tony's children that Tony gained custody of after Harley lost his whole family as well.. Harley gets treated better by everyone.
Then Morgan comes along and is also treated better by everyone else..
After being neglected and forgotten so long Peter's last straws come when Tony forgets Peter's birthday the same as every year but throws a birthday party for Harley on Peter's actual birthday then Morgan stole Peter's stuffed bear that was the last gift Peter's mom gave to him and the bear gets destroyed.
