Chapter Text
Marin walked towards the school. It was another day for him. Wake up, become Marin, walk to school, bump into a lamp post. He might have actually been a bit lost in thought, that happens when your long time superhero partner randomly finds out your secret identity.
‘Not only did he find out my identity but he picked me up and took me back home after our conversation last night. Guess that’s what I get for being exhausted with so much happening lately.’ He thought as he grabbed the light pole and pulled himself around it to keep walking. Looking up to see the stairs in view and his friends standing at the top as usual. “Hmm, that’s a bit unusual.” He whispered as his eyes landed on Adriens who was starring straight at him.
Marin froze for a moment before remembering that he needed to keep walking or he would be late again. Making his way down the sidewalk and up the stairs, he could feel those bright green eyes following him the entire way.
“Well there he is! Finally, kind of on time for once.” Alya spoke first.
“Yeah man, nice job being on time. Glad you made it before the bell.” Nino spoke.
“You must have gotten some well deserved sleep last night, or did you just stay up all night?” Adrien said, eyes still on Marin.
Alya looked between the two. “What’s up dudes? Got some tension going on here?” She said locking her eyes on Marin.
“Um, you know, I had a long night but I think the bell is about to ring. Let’s get to class!” Marin started walking through the doors as he spoke.
The day went on just as normal as any other, except for one little thing. For some reason every time Marin even tried to glance toward Adrien, he was already looking at him. Every…. Single…. Time. In class, at lunch through all the topics of conversation and even after school until Marin finally walked inside the bakery.
“What is his deal today?” He asked no one in particular as he closed the door and leaned on it for a second.
“Who dear?” Sabine looked past her child as she watched a grey sedan pass by the shop. “Oh! Was that Adrien? He could have came inside too. He knows he is welcome.”
“No maman. Well… yes, that was him, but not today. He had plans he needed to get to quickly.” He gently patted his mothers shoulder. “Maybe another day though!” He spoke as he started to walk past and towards the home upstairs.
“Okay dear!” She called out as she got back to stocking the beautifully decorated shelves.
As he passed by the bakery’s kitchen he heard his father call out; “Good afternoon my little sweet tart!”
“Hello papa!” He said with a small wave.
After a stop in the homes kitchen and back up the last bit of stairs, she ungraciously entered her bedroom with tea in one hand, snacks in the other and her backpack straps falling off her shoulders. Walking to and standing in the middle of the room she slowly spun around with a feeling of being watched again.
To her surprise her snack hand suddenly became very light and her backpack was being held up off her shoulders.
“Woooh… wait a second here!” She tried to squeal when she was interrupted by a voice shushing her.
“Now now MyLady! Let’s not give the parents a scare.” The voice spoke softly. “Slowly pull your arm out so you can take off your backpack”
She did as the familiar voice said and shrugged her arm out of the strap, then changed her tea to the opposite hand to pull out that arm as well. With the backpack now off and set to her side, a crunch was heard.
“Are you eating my snack?” She asked sounding a bit agitated.
“Rum…. esss?” The voice answered.
Slowly turning around she finally laid eyes on the mysterious person in her room.
“Chat Noir!!” She yelped with a bit of a stumble backwards as he caught her wrist and pulled her close to help her balance. An ‘oomph’ was heard as tea spilled all on the leather clad hero and her fluffy rug. Hands on his chest and slowly looking up to meet his emerald green eyes, something stirred in her mind like she had seen them more recently then just now. But when?
A slight shift in breathing on the palms of her hands reminded her of the position they were now in. Refocusing and shaking her head just a bit, she finally realized exactly how close they actually were. At some point in her wondering thoughts, he had finished the snack and had snaked his hand around her waist to keep her steady, while his other hand still held her wrist gently as her palms rested on his chest and a small smirk played on his light pink lips.
“I…. uh… I um…” she tried to speak but could not stop watching his smirk grow.
He bent down just a bit and whispered in her ear; “I’m sure you have a sentence formed in that beautiful brain of yours. Take a deep breathe and lets try again.”
A shiver ran down her spine making her jolt forward just a bit and her eyes went wide as her lips met his.
