Chapter Text
"Two old friends meet again, wearin' older faces
And talk about the places they have been"
When Suo entered college, everything changed. He wasn’t the type to mess around, but with the way things were going, maintaining a serious reputation seemed impossible.
He became popular, and with that came the knowledge of what to do. He started sleeping around—boy or girl, it didn’t matter.
All he wanted was to forget his first love.
But he hadn’t moved on.
And that made him angry.
So he decided that fooling around was the only solution. He stopped caring about anything else—not even his grades or college mattered anymore. Everything felt meaningless. Life was a mess.
Suo had tried reaching out to Sakura, but the outcome was always the same. No response. Nothing had changed.
His mom explained that Sakura had been forced to move to the States with his mother, under the control of his father, leaving him no choice but to go.
But none of that mattered.
The result was final.
Suo became a wreck.
He doubted he could ever fall in love again. Not like this. Not in this state.
He wasn’t even sure if he had ever truly loved Sakura.
Maybe he was just confused.
Maybe it was all a misunderstanding—a delusion. Perhaps, because Sakura was his first friend, he had mistaken that bond for love as they grew older. Maybe he was just fooling himself.
"It's the same old feeling back again
It's the one they had way back when
They were too young to know when love is real
But somehow, some things never change
And even time hasn't cooled the flame"
But no.
The moment a new transfer student arrived at Suo’s university—the moment people started calling him "mix n match"—Suo just knew.
There was no one else who could compare to Sakura. That distinctive two-toned hair that only made him more breathtaking, those mesmerizing two-colored eyes that Suo wanted to stare into forever, that laugh, that smile—it was all unmistakable.
"It's burnin' even brighter than it did before
It got another chance, and if they take it"
"Maybe this time, it'll be lovin' they'll find
Maybe now they can be more than just friends"
Sakura was like a poison, and Suo had tasted it. The more he did, the more addicted he became, and that addiction scared him.
"He's back in his life, and it feels so right"
But it was Sakura, his first love. Nothing could ever feel wrong when it came to him. Suo was hopelessly in love, and there was no escaping it.
So, when Suo saw Sakura again, he knew.
"Maybe this time.."
He knew he would fall in love with him all over again.
"Love won't end."
