Chapter Text
Title from The Moon will Sing
When Fein woke up the next morning the day went practically as he expected, get dressed, have breakfast and spend the entire day showing Couri around. And he learnt quite a few things about avians and their culture! Apparently they were possessive which wasn't much but still, something he didn't know!
He also learnt a little about Couri, they were the same age and he had a love for bunnies but there weren't that many in the kingdom of the skies. So when they stumbled across a few bunnies leaping around in the meadows, it was adorable to watch the avian coo at them.
Wait
Did he just call him adorable?
Fein stood still, was he falling for a man he didn't even know? No, nonono of course he wasn't. He just found the silliness of it adorable, that was all. Yeah, totally.
Anyways, after a long day of walking and conversing with townsfolk, they made their way back to the castle. Fein was home dead tired and his social battery was drained and he could tell Couri was tired as well but did a way better job at hiding it.
So Fein wasted no time showering and getting into his sleeping clothes. "Are you not going to eat dinner?" Couri asked as Fein buttoned the last button on his pyjamas. "I'll eat tomorrow morning." Fein said and Couri looked at him confusedly. "You don't get punished if you don't eat every meal?" Couri asked, his voice small.
And Fein was confused, why would he be punished? "No, like maybe I'd get a scolding but nothing serious." Fein explained casually and Couri looked at him as if he had just gone mad. "Huh.." Couri mumbled but dropped it there. After that strange conversation Fein fell asleep whereas Couri went to go eat dinner.
However, that couldn't help but leave Fein wondering. What the fuck was happening in that sky kingdom? He normally didn't ponder about this since they were the enemy but still. Anyways, he was tired and he'd probably forget about it tomorrow.
Except he didn't. It plagued his mind for the whole day while he tried to keep pleasantries up with other avians. And as much as he wanted to ask Couri, he doubted Couri trusted him that much to tell him that. Maybe he was just over thinking and it was an avian thing and he should stop intruding. But still.
