Chapter Text
The hallways were dark and cold, casting no shadows over the three moving forms. The shapes stopped at a familiar door, one typing in a code to unlock it. It opened with a whoosh, the loudest noise in the silence. The three figures didn’t move, waiting to see if the sleeping shape in the room would rouse. When all stayed still, the three moved in, the door closing behind them.
:How does he do that?: One figure, Skywarp asked, moving to the edge of the berth to stare at Megatron. The warlord was deep in recharge, unmoving from his position on his back.
:He’s made of reinforced steel. If I were a tank I would sleep fine: Thundercracker deadpanned, staying the closest by the door. If Megatron were to wake up swinging, he’d be the first to leave. :Though I would hate being a tank. Bulky. Awkward. Heavy:
:Shut it: Starscream snapped. :I’m tired and cold. The stupid planet sodium chloride solvent is locking my hinges up. Get in:
:Oh my skies, be normal for once and just say saltwater: Skywarp groaned, getting Starscream to pitch his wings. A flurry of wingspeak passed between the two, boiling to petty insults. Neither noticed Thundercracker moving until the blue seeker planted one pede on the berth, vaulting himself over Megatron to squish between the heavy frame and the wall.
:Someone had to go first: Thundercracker reasoned when getting rightfully stared at. In no time Skywarp was climbing onto the berth, taking the empty space on the other side of Megatron. That left Starscream, still furiously shaking his wings.
:This was my idea. I should have gotten first pick: Starscream argued.
:So? We saved you the best place: Skywarp grinned, servo reaching up and patting Megatron’s chassis, creating a dull thunk. Starscream continued his silent tantrum until he sulked over. Being as careful as if he was handling explosives, Starscream joined the crowded berth, staking his claim of laying on top of Megatron. The three sighed, tucking their wings and settling in. One by one their optics shut, and only when their vents stabilized for recharge, Megatron woke up.
He assessed the situation, before laying his helm back down, planning to stay awake another night.
If the seekers planned to do this more, Megatron would need to build a bigger berth.
