Since NRC is a school, it is expected that there will be numerous clubs and extracurriculars available after school. Lots of students are pushed to get involved in different activities to make their school experience more fun and to hang out with each other more. This includes the Hazbin gang; Crowley “suggests” they should be in charge or help out a club to keep an eye—ah, ahem, to get to know the students as part of a new staff. (They know Crowley means free babysitting.)
Charlie: Theater Club. With her love for musicals and theater, this is the perfect club for Charlie to be a part of. She is super happy and enthusiastic about working with the students, and she is excited to share everything she knows. She's optimistic and excited, which initially turns off the NRC students because it reminds them too much of RSA. But eventually, Charlie wins them over with her fun teaching and activities she organizes for the club. Occasionally, the club members spontaneously break into song and dance, with other students joining in, culminating in a large-scale musical performance. It’s kind of weird, like, how did they know the dance moves or the lyrics of the song? They've never heard or seen it before. What a mysterious phenomenon…………
The club does have a small rivalry with the Movie Appreciation Club, but luckily Charlie and Vil manage to smooth things out so that they are at least tolerable for collaboration. Vil thinks Charlie's talents are a bit too focused on upbeat and happy music and feels she should mix it up with some different styles.
Vaggie: Magift/SpellDrive Club. She wanted to be in the same club with Charlie at first, but Charlie managed to convince Vaggie to join a different club according to her own interest and not just stick by her side for the sake of it. She joined the Magift Club because it reminds her of the past: flying. The students here don't have wings, but they are able to fly, quite skillfully, with just a broom. They flew so skillfully around the field and used their magic to rush through their opponents, reminding Vaggie of her past. But here the skills are used for fun and sports, not for killing thousands of souls.
Vaggie quickly adapted to this sport and found her talent; her previous expertise as a top exorcist proved invaluable. The club members quickly respected her and saw her as a captain next to Leona. This also has the unfortunate side effect of many students having a crush on her, who is a lesbian and currently taken. She also has a hard time getting the students to cooperate as all of them are glory hogs and want to take center stage.
Angel: Light Music Club. Angel thought it would be cool to join the club that plays musical instruments. He's been dancing and acting in Hell, but he doesn't really dive into the whole musical thing. He figured it would be a nice break and a chance to try something different. He's pretty surprised; it's a laid-back club where everyone just hangs out and chats. It gives Angel a nice little break, letting him dive into his favorite thing—gossiping.
He thinks Kalim is super cute, like a little cinnamon roll, and way too nice for NRC. In addition, he’s been having a blast with Cater on social media. The only one that feels a little off is Lilia; it’s like Lilia can see right through him and sometimes gives these worried looks, kind of like a parent would. But usually, they're just laid-back. Angel's been having fun with the instruments and is picking up how to play a few of them; it's a solid way for him to express himself.
Husk: Board Games Club. He picked this club because it involves the least work. It’s just students playing their board games and being quiet. A perfect club for him, just come in and keep an eye on the students to not be too rowdy. He doesn't realize that these games can sometimes lead to gambling, and it's up to him to stop that from happening. Sometimes students start placing bets in their game, and it turns into a whole gambling thing.
Husk, being a gambler, knows what could happen to the students if they decide to go down this road. He's dealing with the fallout from it. He teaches the students how to manage their gambling and know when to call it quits, so they don’t end up losing it all. He doesn't want these kids to go through what he went through.
Niffty: Gargoyles Research Club. She started following Malleus one day and is now part of the club. Malleus seems happy with a new club member to share his interest with, and Niffty gets to ride on the “bad boy” shoulder and head. They usually wander the campus in search of interesting gargoyles, with Malleus rambling about them and Niffty jumping on them and cleaning them. Malleus is pleased that someone is cleaning and caring for these gargoyles. These two chaotic duos are meant for each other; everyone is actively scared of them.
Sir Pentious: Science Club. He is a man of science and will continue as one, even in another world. He teaches students about inventing new things and joins them for experiments. He finds this world's technology fascinating, as it has both magic and science meshing together to form techno-magic. He tinkers with it and invents a whole new line of egg-bois, one that could use basic magic. They are now causing trouble around the campus and somehow multiplying...Oh, and the members of the Science Club get to ride in his blimp. A lot of other students are jealous of this.
Alastor: Broadcast and Newspaper Club. There was no such club at the beginning. However, once Alastor assumed control of the broadcasting system, he also seized control of the newspaper club, merging them into a single club. He now has a hold on the school info pool, the official one anyway; gossip among students is still up for debate. He believes he has the best time slots and runs the info game at school, or at least that's what he tells himself. In reality, the students hardly read newspapers anymore and just use their phones to look up news online.
He can't just shut down the school news website because that's against the rules, and he's really just a babysitter—uh, supervisor of a club. But he does make sure that the news is written in perfect English and grammar and that it is consistent between the papers and website. One small grammar or spelling mistake and he makes the student rewrite the whole article. They hate him.
Yuu: Broadcast and Newspaper Club. The only club member is forced to be here by Crowley. Crowley believes Yuu can benefit from working with the news and interviewing students and locals to learn more about NRC and Twisted Wonderland. Since Yuu is from another world, they would find it fascinating.
Spoiler alert…No!! They do not find it fascinating. It's just fancy talk for more work because they are the only club member. The rest of the newspaper club bailed as soon as Alastor took over, and now they are severely understaffed. Alastor does have his shadow minions to do the printing and typing, but it was Yuu that had to go out to do interviews and write up the articles so that they could be typed and printed. (In the game, Yuu did all the birthday interviews by themselves). Alastor is very anal about the grammar and English, and the smallest will be sent back to Yuu to rewrite it. They really hate Alastor.
