THE CORUSCANT TIMES – SECURITY FOOTAGE OF FUGITIVE JEDI AND SENATOR FINALLY RELEASED
After an extensive public inquiry, Chancellor Palpatine has finally released the footage from the day of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Senator Padme Amidala from the Senate, revealing them running to a ship with another humanoid male, as yet unidentified.
There have been no new leads in their disappearance, and at his press conference earlier today Chancellor Palpatine cut an imposing figure, black-robed beneath the purple sky, cameras flashing all around.
He warned the public that they are “traitors to the republic,” and “dangerous, deviant and disturbed.”
Members of his party have called for the fugitives to be “put down,” and cited their military security measures as an effective response to the issue.
But members of the public told our reporter that they wonder at whether this is just the first of a swathe of defections, whether the Republic that we've come to see as a paragon of modernity and democracy is “rotting from the inside.”
The Jedi Council were unavailable for comment.
