Chapter Text
Theo’s lying comfortably in bed when his phone suddenly vibrated on the bed-side table, already dinging with messages. He groaned, woken up by all the sounds and rubbing his eyes. “This better be an emergency…” He muttered, reaching for his phone and blinking at the screen, his eyes adjusting to the light. Scrolling down the multiple messages from Liam and Mason… What did they want?
They were both at some frat-house party and Theo was completely uninterested and busy with the bustling day he had at the coffee shop. Plus, what’s the point if he can't get drunk on normal alcohol anyway? Not even feel a single buzz. Mason’s face suddenly popped up on the screen, calling him and Theo begrudgingly picked it up. “What is it, Mason?”
“Heyo, did I wake up the chimera?” He asked, the sound of some pop song blasting in the background.
“What do you think? And what's with the late night call? I thought you’re at—”
“The party, yeah… yes, it's great! Real fun but, um, you need to come pick up Liam.” Theo furrowed his eyebrows and checked the time, “It's one in the morning. Weren't you gonna drive him?”
Mason sighed on the other end, “I was! But he's a bigger deal when drunk than I thought… and I already have Corey to take care of… besides! He's your roommate, have a heart and help out a friend?”
Theo clenched his jaw, “How did he even get drunk in the first place?” He raised an eyebrow, slowly sitting up and not on his elbow anymore.
“Lydia told us some time ago that a little bit of Wolfsbane in the alcohol does the trick… two bottles in and Liam got on the dancefloor.” He responded, music still blaring as Mason tried to speak over it, “He clearly doesn't have the best tolerance.”
Theo could easily imagine a very reckless and buzzing Liam having fun dancing with others to the obnoxiously loud house music, drinking the night away, it's a new scenario but it's Liam. Anything could happen with the guy.
“Just because I’m his roommate doesn't mean I’m responsible for him and his reckless drinking.” He bit back and Mason sighed across the line. “Says the guy that constantly looked out for him back in Beacon Hills. Yeah, I see you, don't deny it.”
Theo bit his inner cheek, remembering the past events they had to endure and survive through, shaking his head at the mere thought of going back through that hell. His own hell. “Encountering death is different than dealing with a drunkard.”
“Oh come on! Just deal with him, everything’s pretty hectic and he’ll get into a lot of trouble if he’s found outside of his dorm past midnight, let alone drunk. He can barely lie to save his own ass.” Mason made a good point, then again, this whole party of students drinking could get into deep trouble for sneaking out of their dormitories too.
Theo rubbed his eyes, “Okay, fine… I’ll pick him up,” he paused, “but you owe me.”
Mason chuckled, “Right, I know that. You’ll thank me for this call later, see you soon T!” He hung up before the chimera questioned him, sending his location in the chat.
He scrolled to his messages app since his phone was blasting with notifications earlier. Seeing the multiple text messages Liam had sent him prior as the first recently active chat, with very apparent bad grammar and spelling used.

Of course he spelled his favorite curse word correctly. Theo grumbled, getting up and pulling on a hoodie before grabbing his keys and leaving the dorms. Barely hearing any heartbeats, seemed like every other person on campus was at this rowdy party. Violating the curfew rules for the night.
────────•⋅⊰༻♡༺⊱⋅•────────
He could hear the loud music from a few blocks away, it was being held at some frat house, a big one at that. Theo carefully drove down the road and parked a bit far away from the house, since the whole front was filled with unprofessionally parked vehicles.
He shut the door after getting out but kept the truck on, so it stayed warm inside. Exhaling and seeing his breath steaming in the air, clear as night, showing how the weather was getting really close to the negatives in terms of temperature.
He casually stepped into the house, it wasn't even guarded or anything. He saw the crowd of people and groaned, he hated crowds, which was already established. But now he has to go through it all again because of one little werewolf joining this party.
“Liam!” He called out, trying to catch his scent but everything was overwhelmingly loud and smelled unpleasant, from the scent of different students to all the booze they’ve been drinking nonstop. It irked him as he scrunched his nose for a second, underground chemicals proved to smell better.
People bumped into him left and right, but he ignored them and carried on, until he stumbled into the less crowded living room area where students were sitting on any kind of surface there was. The coffee table creaked under someone’s weight.
Soon enough, he spotted Mason sitting beside Liam and pulling back Corey from taking another shot to his death. Both were completely wasted, showed clear in their behavior and smushed faces.
“What the hell did they drink?” His eyes roved over Liam, his shirt a little undone with the buttons at the top, hair completely disheveled and cheeks flushed. Giggling on top of it all. Mason noticed the stare and smirked.
“Everything, literally drank everything. Used up the whole batch of wolfsbane I got my hands on.” Theo rolled his eyes at such a dumb decision.
“Alright, I’ll take him home…” Mason nodded and patted Liam’s back. “Good luck dude, he makes a bad flirt when drunk.” Theo furrowed his eyebrows and parted his lips to question his response but was interrupted with Liam getting onto his feet and gasping.
“Theo!!” He excitedly greeted, wobbling on his feet and Theo gripped his bicep, holding him up and close. “Careful… you're completely wasted.”
“And y're not? This party rocks! Y’have to drink the beer dude it's like… mind-blowing. M’tingly all over.” Theo slowly nodded, “Right… no more drinks for you. I’m taking you home.”
“Home? I don’ wanna go yet… home’s boring. There’s still wolfsbane left to—”
“Shh! Do you want to somehow expose us?” Theo interrupted him, most people didn’t know they were supernatural, and he wasn’t about to let Liam blow their cover.
Liam frowned, “My point still… still stands!” He reached for the tequila shot Corey was begging Mason for and took it, sighing and slamming the glass back down on the table. Breaking it into bits with his strength. “Whoops!” He giggled and dusted his hands off, Theo watched in a mix of amusement and annoyance. “Come on…” he whined, “Js’ a shot? S’on me!”
“I’m driving, and there’s no more herbs left for you to tear through Liam, you can barely stand. We’re leaving.” Theo ended with a whisper of no more arguments, Liam continued to whine as he looked at Mason for help, who just shook his head with the small smirk.
Then with a grin, he tackled Theo from behind, “Piggyback ride!” He laughed and Theo pulled him off, annoyed at his drunken actions. “What? No, no piggyback ride. Will you just hold onto me?” He extended his arm, knowing Liam will cling to him someway.
“Wif pleasure.” He giggled and reached for Theo’s hand instead, catching him by surprise. Theo shivered but pushed the feeling aside, pulling him along. “Good grief…” He muttered. Not noticing, or giving a damn, about the way some partygoers noticed their hand holding.
Theo tried to ignore how soft and warm Liam’s hand was, like it belonged in his own hand all tangled.
“Oooh, chilly, s’chilly… I feel chills.” Liam spoke, looking from the empty street to the bustling party in the frat house. Theo ignored his excessive sighing and managed to pull him to his Tundra parked on the side, Liam wrapped his flailing arms around Theo’s torso and groaned, stuffing his face into his neck from behind.
Theo’s heart palpitated in the position, Liam’s warm breath brushing over his skin, causing his hairs to stand up as if the cold doesn’t have Theo shivering already. “Yer warm…” The drunk wolf mumbled under his intoxicated breath and held on tighter.
Theo just wanted to shut him up and shove him into the passenger seat, instead he was stuck warring with his uncontrolled heartbeat and holding up the boy which caused the increased heart rate in the first place. What a lovely predicament to be looped in.
“I’m not some heater you can cling to, stay on your feet.” He elbowed his ribs, not too hard, just enough of a nudge to get the point across. Liam groaned at the nudge and stepped back, almost slipping on nothing but he stood on his feet, cheering at the success. “I’m okay!” Theo shook his head, he should be sleeping, not looking after Liam like a parent.
“Get inside… don’t bump your head!” He exclaimed but Liam instantly bumped his forehead into the door after Theo carefully opened it, whimpering in pain.
“You didn’t have to smack me with it!” He rubbed his forehead and Theo scoffed, “At least you’re not slurring your words as much anymore… get in.” He gripped his bicep and hauled him inside, tucking his legs in carefully. Then leaned over to grab the seat belt and strapped it on him, yanking Liam’s arm out from beneath it.
He sighed and looked at the wolf, “All good?”
“S’all good… always good in here…” He tilted his head back to rest against the car seat’s head cushion, still giggly, getting comfortable. “We have to go so soon?” He asked, looking at the bright party.
Theo looked back and nodded, “Yes, yes we definitely do. Most of them will get caught for sneaking out anyway.” He turned back to Liam who was already staring at the chimera, eyes slightly wider as he tried to focus.
“Not a chance I’m letting you go back.” Liam groaned and turned away, his puppy eyes didn’t work as they should. Theo smirked, “Stay put.” He added, shutting the door and walking around the front of the Tundra, getting inside the driver’s seat and pulling out of park carefully. After ensuring Liam wouldn't jump out of his seat as soon as he had the chance. Surprisingly staying quiet during the ride home, other than the whining.
────────•⋅⊰༻♡༺⊱⋅•────────
Unfortunately, Theo did end up giving Liam a piggyback ride up the stairs since Liam could barely stand on his feet. And the elevator was conveniently out of service. Groaning as Liam rambled on and on about random things, slurring his words from the alcohol again.
Liam clicked his tongue, “Faster, faster! You suck at piggyback rides.” He wrapped his arms across Theo’s chest tighter. “Don't make me drop you down the flight of stairs Liam, you're tempting me.” Contradicting his words by holding the back on his legs tighter.
“Y’wouldn't dare… just go up faster!” He smacked Theo’s pec and heard the scoff leaving his lips. “Liam, I swe—” He cuts himself, hearing distant talking and recognizing one of the voices. They were about to get caught, outside of their dorm past curfew.
“Great.” Theo grumbled and Liam only hummed in question, before reaching the floor beneath their dorm and releasing Liam back on his feet.
“Awh, come on! Why did y—” He was about to whine louder but Theo quickly turned to him and dragged him into the supply closet he just spotted by his wrist, shuffling inside and shutting the door. “Shh. Stay quiet.” He whispered to the drunken beta.
Liam stood leaning against him, watching as Theo leaned closer to the door to listen to the footsteps, Liam was barely able to keep up with what's exactly going on. He reached to turn on the lights, before Theo swatted his hand away and turned off the lights, sending him a glare.
“What? I can't see, s’dark!” He whispered and Theo rolled his eyes, “You have enhanced vision, you dumbass.” He reminded him, watching Liam blink a few times, then realize that he can see pretty well in the dark, just too blurry this time. Theo exhaled with a shake of his head, staring at him.
As Liam looked around the pretty packed closet, Theo still held his wrist, aware that if he let go, Liam was bound to get himself into any kind of trouble. Especially risky when they're trying to be sneaky whilst hall coordinators searched some of the dorms which were left open and clearly unoccupied.
He swayed a little on his feet, his clothes a bit rumpled and he reached for a random mop he spotted. “Hey.. hey dude, remember when uh… um, dang I forgot…” he rubbed his temple as if a genie would appear and grant his wish to remember.
“Oh!” He exclaimed and Theo shushed him, but not a minute later he opened his mouth again, looking at the mop face-to-face, “Did ye know that in history… there are about seven types of mops?”
Theo looked at him in somewhat confusion and disinterest, as if asking, what is he babbling about?
“I mean…” he snorted, “what the hell d’you need a sponge… or hot mop for anyway?” He tried to lean against the mop but it proved unbalancing so he just leaned against the door, making a small thud which just angered Theo more.
“Have you ever seen those mop dogs?” He giggled, “I js’ wanna pick ‘em up and mop the floor with it…” He decided to pet the dirty mop head as if it was the dog breed.
“And it also originated—” Theo’s hand smacked over his lips, “Will you shut up when I tell you to, for once?” Theo whispered, clearly exasperated with Liam and just glared into his hazy eyes.
Liam’s words muffled against his palm, holding his wrist then groaning in annoyance himself. Theo sighed and listened to the others, hearing how they made their way down the hall for now and Theo removed his hand from Liam’s soft lips.
“You're so dramatic.” Liam scoffed, and Theo rolled his eyes, “I’m the one saving your ass here, again might I add.” He settled his ear closer to the door, just making sure to hear what was going on outside. “Might I add.” Liam mocked with a squeaky voice and Theo held his tongue
As soon as Liam’s heart spiked and he stumbled on nothing, Theo caught him before he could bang his head on the door, staying expertly quiet. Tightening the arm he looped around Liam’s waist and keeping him close against his torso, phew . “You're such a mess…”
Liam only chuckled and found his smile again, eyes hazy and unfocused as he stared back. “And yer super sneaky…” He whispered back, before resting his head on his shoulder expectantly. Since he kept leaning anyway.
Theo jostled his jaw and held him tighter, hearing the slow beating of his heart, limbs relaxed and he hadn't seen the beta this carefree in a while, or at all. If he recalls correctly. He noticed the way Liam stayed close, not protesting. He felt his body heat exchange with his own and clenched his jaw at the thought of him just being so warm in such cold weather.
Almost makes him want to bundle up in Liam’s heat like a blanket. Watching the way Liam’s eyes fluttered, having clear difficulty staying awake. Theo shook those thoughts away but held him in place, hearing footsteps go down the stairs and the conversation dying down until they left the building.
“Finally… let’s get you outta here. Stay awake for a minute longer.” He gently shook Liam and earned a groan, he was still in a haze but slowly sobering up, even though he wasn’t triggering his healing. Theo cracked the door open and stepped into the dark hallway.
Checking his surroundings before dragging Liam out of the room then shutting the door to leave no trace, “We’re walking, come on.” He pulled the whiny wolf along the one flight of stairs they had before reaching their dorm.
Theo locked the front door before kicking his own shoes off messily. While Liam was trying to take his own shoes off, holding himself up by the wall to keep his balance, focusing on the tight strings tied on his shoes and struggling. Theo sighed, watching him try to lift his leg and untie the strings, but he almost fell over and caught the wall.
Theo basically flinched, reaching for him before quickly pulling his hand back. “Even more clumsy when drunk.” He muttered to himself, seeing him chuckle at almost falling down then just pulling his shoes off and tossing them to the side. He was tripping a lot. Suddenly annoyed at the sight since he has to tidy up Liam before he can tidy that mess.
The wolf instantly went over to the couch and unceremoniously fell into the cushions, socks still on. Theo clicked his tongue, “Don't pass out on the couch.” He advised.
“Don't tell me what to do…” Liam replied, making sure his words aren't muffled into the pillow. “You literally ruined the party and my night!”
Theo rolled his eyes, “I didn’t ruin your night.” He corrected, “Be thankful I brought you back home, otherwise you’d be caught like this, drunk as a skunk. With those two idiots.” Referring to Mason and Corey who are, most likely, still partying.
“You’re always getting in my business… I thought you weren’t nosy!” Liam exclaimed.
Theo pulled his own jacket off, “Blame your best friend for calling me… I’m blaming him too.” He lastly muttered and Liam just puffed out a breath, dizzy just from lying down.
Whilst Liam continued lying and babbling on the couch, Theo decided to take care of unfinished chores around the house. Because apparently Liam didn’t have time to do his chores before getting completely hammered at the frat party.
He adjusted the crooked coffee table into its correct position by moving it with his arms, then picking up the dirty dishes and taking them to the sink and washing them. Lastly, seeing how there is some water left in the kettle he used this morning, he decided to reheat it so he may have his tea later.
Liam raised his head a little, watching Theo move around the whole time and has long gone silent. Chuckling even though nobody made a joke.
Theo raised an eyebrow, “Why are you all giggly now?”
Liam giggled again, lying his head back down on the pillow and rolling onto his side. Shirt riding up and showing a sneak peek of his abdomen. “Teddy bear…”
Theo turned around as he waited for the water to boil in the kettle. “Huh?”
“Yer like a teddy bear! All cuddly n’ huggy like teddy with those big arms n’ chest… an’ shoulders.” He laughed, smiling wide. “Js’ like the one we spotted in the park… last time.” Referring to the stands in which if you won enough points by knocking over some rigged cardboard cut-outs, you’d win a huge teddy bear!
Theo almost choked on his own spit, not expecting that. “I’m not—”
“Ughh, stop denying it! Y’all buff because of workouts… even makes me feel a little jealous since I’ve become such a foodie lately…” He chuckled, making no big deal but his tone sounded unsatisfied with himself.
Lazily running his eyes over Theo’s body, not showing much skin with his double layers of insulation. “And how your uniform fits you perfectly.” He mumbled, sighing through his nostrils and trying to roll onto his other side next.
Theo just stood there and watched, completely befuddled with blush staining his cheeks and the tips of his ears. He was referring to the coffee-and-cookie-stained work apron he always wrapped around his waist during his shifts. He never used the back straps of it. Now he’s never gonna feel the same boring feeling when wearing it again, replaced with Liam’s opinion.
The drunkard pulled at a loose string from the back pillow in reach, slowly pulling it out. “Kinda wish y’knew how much I care… ‘bout Theo.” He mumbled, catching Theo’s attention as he lay a little upside down. “Instead of just… being a total asshole all the time. And having all those weird mugs, I mean, what’s wit’all the tea drinkin’ anyway? Tea-aholic...” He laughed at his own words.
Theo cracks a small smile at that, intrigued by this side of Liam but not interrupting his rambling, there's no point to hide the truth. And the chimera was clearly interested to hear more.
“I thought you liked my tea-making habit.” Theo added, trying to unravel more.
Liam hummed, “Mhmm… I do. You make good tea… and a good roomie.” He responded groggily, blinking slower as the string finally snapped between his fingers. Theo’s eyebrows raised, eyes lighting up in turn, shiny compared to the mossy darkness in his irises at all times.
Much like the way their dorm stayed warm, shiny, and homey. Compared to the raging storm bubbling outside, darkening the sky in the dead of night. The beating of his heart quickened, reminding him of how Liam stared at him back in the truck just half an hour ago.
Instinctively raising his hand to rest against his chest, a gesture he does unknowingly lately ever since he’s had it ripped out of him countless times back down there.
Liam interrupts his thoughts as he loudly yawns and stretches on the couch, tossing the inconveniently placed pillow onto the floor just because he can. Theo let out a prolonged sigh, aware that he has to take him to bed. Lowering his clenched hand and picking up the pillow and dusted it before throwing it onto the single couch seat nearby.
After several attempts to convince Liam to stand up and go to his bedroom, Theo tightened his jaw in impatience. Because if he lets him sleep here, he’ll get back-pain, and Liam’s already whiny on the usual.
“You leave me no choice, you're getting up.” Theo grabbed his forearms until he stood up and Liam latched onto him, unable to stay balanced on his own, of course.
Theo held him and looked deeply into his blue eyes, noticing the way he wasn’t concentrating on reality at all. Will Liam even remember this whole interaction in the morning? All the sweet things he said? Even with that possibility, Theo will inevitably keep those words on repeat in his mind.
Liam stared at him and giggled again, hearts clenching. “What?” Theo observed his features and the way his lips turned up. “Nothing… Teddy.” He nicknamed and Theo sighed. Thank goodness that Liam was completely wasted so he’s just nonsensically rambling… at least Theo will use that as an excuse.
He gently perched Liam over his shoulder, carrying him to the bedroom with an arm around his waist tightly to keep him up there. Liam only yelped at the action but barely fought back. “Oh, everything’s upside down…” He observed about the world.
“Why do you have to carry me…” He added, punching Theo’s back with barely any strength thanks to his sluggish mind controlling his sluggish movements.
“You got better ideas, Liam? Because you can barely stand on your feet without clinging to me for balance.”
“Blah blah blah… yer so naggy sometimes.”
“I’m sorry, ‘naggy’?” He raised an eyebrow with a scoff. “I am many things, but naggy is not one of them.” He kicked the door to Liam’s bedroom and shut it the same way.
“Mmh't applies anyway!” He cleared his throat, then bounced on the bed as Theo threw him down on it. Liam slowly sat up and just laughed, as if the booze wasn’t enough so he inhaled nitrous oxide as a laughing gas.
Theo could smell the alcohol wafting off of him and the hint of wolfsbane remnant on his breath, he wanted to shove him in the shower or at least brush his teeth. But he’ll probably pass out before getting to do any of that anyway.
Liam took a deep breath in and out before he began pulling at his own clothes, he haphazardly took off his jacket and reached for the ends of his henley.
"Liam, why the hell are you undressing?" Theo asked.
"Because it's hot! And I'm hot!" He exclaimed, trying to pull off his tight henley after throwing his jacket aside, with his arms almost out of the henley, but somehow his head stuck inside. “Um… help?” He asked with a quieter voice.
Theo rolled his eyes and bit his cheek, helping him pull off the henley properly and discard it. Revealing Liam in all his muscular glory, stretching and reaching for the hoodie lying on the edge of his bed.
Before covering himself up, Theo shamefully watched the way his muscles flexed with each stretch, the sight of the soft hairs on his torso expressing his masculinity, covering his chest like some beast. Skin flushed just like his cheeks.
Theo swallowed his saliva down and looked away, Liam just lied back on the sheets. Forgetting about his belt and jeans, now Theo wasn't about to tell him to strip his jeans off .
“I need another drink…” He mumbled, causing the sober boy to decline.
“You need to sleep, that’s what you’ll do.” Theo responded. Liam exhaled all of his breath, “Why don’t you get me a drink, Teddy?” He pouted.
“We don’t have alcohol in our dorm Liam, and I’m definitely not letting you drink again.”
“Why? You can’t restrict me from my needs!” He whined, Theo clicked his tongue, “That’s hardly a need, shut up.” He unfolded the blanket and Liam laid on the bed, imitating a starfish. Theo was really getting irritated with him, pulling him further up the bed by his shoulder and showing a sneak peek of his v-line this time. And Theo was fully aware of the way his tightened throat swallowed down his saliva again. He needed calming tea.
When he finally rested his head on the pillow, Theo threw the blanket on him and Liam annoyingly tossed it aside, “It’s hot, can’t you tell?” He blinked. Theo just inhaled and exhaled forcibly and reached for the blanket again. “It’s literally nearing winter, I don’t know why you’re hot.” He explained through clenched teeth.
Liam just yawned and watched him in intrigue. Theo fixed it up and rested it over Liam as it flowed down on him, shaping him. “Teddy?” He asked in a softer tone.
Theo sighed, might as well go by that nickname for now. “Yeah, Liam?”
“Can you turn the light on? S’dark…” He whispered, words still slurred. Theo nodded after a thought then turned it on, bathing the bedroom in a warm, welcoming glow. The same glow which peaked through the crack beneath Liam’s door every night.
Slowly relaxing as he adjusted his position to lie over his stomach, head on the side. “Come on! I wanna be snug as a bug since yer forcing me t’sleep.” Liam complained yet again, flipping the pillow onto the colder side. Theo just tried to tuck him in without snapping.
“I m’ss cuddling…” He mumbled. “You miss what?” Theo could barely understand him through his gibberish.
“Mmh… cuddling with Hayden…” He trailed off and blinked his eyes shut, resting his cheek on the pillow, squishing his cheek. Limbs completely still as he finally passed out.
Theo paused in his movements, blanket held at the ends and he stared down at the wolf, registering what he just muttered in his drunken state. “Hayden… haven’t heard of her in a while.” He mumbled with a frown on his face, gently tucking him under the blanket better and noticing how the nightlight was on.
Remembering the first night they got here when Liam sorta admitted how he sleeps with it on, so after reaching for it, he slowly retracted his hand, giving one last look at the wolf before quietly leaving the bedroom and shutting the door.
He looked at the time on the wall, 2:47 AM. “Definitely won’t be getting any more sleep tonight…” He ran a hand through his hair and walked into his own bedroom, too tired to even make his late night remedy of tea to aid him with his creeping insomnia. Plopping into the bed and landing on Liam’s previous texts, re-reading them out of boredom.
People asked about who? He wondered in thought, brow curled in a puzzled manner as he stared at the screen.
────────•⋅⊰༻♡༺⊱⋅•────────
Theo woke up early, more like he barely slept last night, nightmares plaguing his thoughts as well as replaying moments from last night. Whilst making his own tea before anything else, he heard excessive groaning from Liam’s bedroom. Hearing the thumping of his footsteps next and appearing beside the fridge, leaning on it for balance.
“Good morning.” Theo tried to hold back his smirk as he looked at the wolf, seeing his rumpled hair with his belt and jeans still on.
“Shitty morning…” Liam grumbled, his head pounding after so much alcohol intake, leading to a heavy hangover. Theo gave a lopsided smile before pouring steamed water into another mug, making tea for them both.
“Sit on the couch before you pass out again.” Theo advised (more like demanded.) Liam just rubbed his eyes and followed his words, plopping down on the couch he lied on the previous night, talking complete gibberish.
After a minute of soaking the tea-leaf bag in the water and stealing color from it, Theo took them out and threw them in the piling trash can. Picking up both mugs and handing one to Liam before sitting down on the end, since most of the space was taken up.
Liam groaned a ‘thank you’ and sipped the tea slowly, not commenting on the weird choice of mugs for today. It actually happened to suit the situation, it was a mug in the shape and look of a brown barrel, similar to the ones Liam had seen in those Viking movies and shows he’d seen. Beer overflowing the barrel.
He turned to Theo, his feet against the other's thigh. “Did I say or do anything weird last night?” He asked out of embarrassment. Theo thought back to everything he said, remembering the nonsensical complaining turn into Liam calling him the stupidest nickname of all time to saying the nicest things Theo has ever heard spoken to him. Drunken confessions or not.
“You make good tea… and a good roomie.”
Guess he was right, Liam completely forgot about what was uttered, much of a shame. Deciding to keep it to himself resulted in a shake of his head, “Weird? No, stupid? Definitely. You were wasted and started talking about the history of mops to me.” He added and sipped his tea silently.
“Mops? That’s not even interesting… all I remember is inhaling beers.” He paused to sip the tea before setting it down, “And trying to dance…”
“Keyword: trying. ” Theo added and Liam just glared at him.
A knock came from the door and from the beating of the heart, Theo could tell who was knocking. “I’ll get it, you should finish your tea.” He pointed to the tea sitting on the coffee table slowly going cold. Liam picked it up with a roll of his eyes, which harmed his growing headache.
He opened up the door, revealing Mason and he stepped out. “Hey.”
“Hey, thanks for the help again.” Mason said with a smile. Watching Theo step out of the dorm and shut the door. Standing in the hallway.
Theo adjusted the wrinkled part of his hoodie, “That's fine… he was a mess. And now he's dealing with the consequences.”
“You mean a hangover? Yikes.” Mason chuckled and Theo nodded.
“How’s Corey? He looked as wasted as Liam.” Asking with a straight face, a bit concerned over the chimera. But never fully expressing it.
Mason scratched his arm, “He’s doing alright, also dealing with a hangover. Thankfully he won't miss his classes.” He paused, “Unlike everybody else at that party.”
“You two didn’t get caught?”
“Almost! We uh… went invisible and made out in the guest bedroom, then came back home after the party died down.” He chuckled, watching the raised eyebrow on Theo’s face at hearing them using Corey’s abilities to their advantage.
Theo nodded, “That’s luck, good to know.” Then hearing another groan from inside the dorm, followed by a thud. Mason heard it too, “I thought he would’ve triggered his healing by now?”
Theo sighed, “He has, he’s just being whiny about it,” he then mumbled “as usual.” Mason picked up on it and smirked.
“You had trouble with him last night, I’m guessing?”
“Your guess is right, he was complaining in my ear the whole time, I barely got a wink of sleep.”
Mason laughed, “Well you make a good babysitter! I wasn’t about to let some other chick take him away for the night.” Theo perked up at that piece of information.
“Some other chick?” He inquired and stuffed his hands into his pockets. Mason kept his small smile, “Yeah, I noticed this other tipsy girl who was basically trying to take him back to her own dorm… which obviously isn't allowed.”
Theo took in his words and glanced down the hallway, who could it have been? “Right, glad you were sober and dealt with that.”
“Of course! I mean, you would've done the same thing if you were there, if not, more protective.” Was that a jab? Theo just nodded along again, trying to read Mason and figure out all of his randomly littered comments lately.
Lost in his thoughts, Mason interrupted, “Anyway, I gotta check back up on my boyfriend, I’ll catch you later.” Theo replied with his own goodbye and raised his hand as a wave, before getting back into his dorm.
Theo shut the door behind him and Mason heard a yell, “Liam! Did you just break the mug? You’re rebuying it!” slowly becoming furious. He smiled before going down the stairs to take care of his own boyfriend tackling a hangover.
