There was a sinking feeling in Theo’s stomach that perhaps there was something else going on, perhaps that Josh had the itch to use drugs again. He didn't want to make the assumption, but this wasn't the first time Josh faced a challenge. It started with numerous late night phone calls before Josh became a paramedic, to making sure he attended meetings and stayed clean. Josh was serious about maintaining his sobriety, come hell or high water, but Perhaps he found another focus.

Nolan couldn’t pinpoint the pain that radiated through his body, as if he was being poked with hundreds of tiny needles, every single one of his cells charged with a new form of energy that both felt cold and as if he’d been set on fire. Pain surged through his body, and Nolan passed out, before feeling a cool blanket wrap of white light encircle him.
