A group of people walk in a dark and snowy forest; The path lost underneath the piles of snow. They instead follow a set of dot-like footprints.
“We’re getting closer” says a young blue hedgehog with red eyes.
“Something tells me out target’s not down here” the tall and slim cat boy adds, the man is wearing a scabbard that holds a sword on his side.
“According to my scan, our target is on the peak of this mountain, it will take us about an hour to get there if we hurry” A white-haired human woman points at the top of the giant mountain, a trail of smoke coming from the peak.
“Well then, let’s get moving” A two-tailed fox man leads the way, torch in hand. They all follow him without hesitation.
“Hey Lumi, do you want your own torch?” The cat stays behind and hands a torch to a small blue hedgehog, he stares at the tip and the torch ignites into a teal flame, the small hedgehog smiles and walks next to him.
“C’mon Sol, Lumi!” The fox calls out to them.
“Be right there, Tails!” Sol and Lumi jog a bit to catch up.
the group all head towards the top of the mountain, the small hedgehog thinks about the plant lady with a lily on her head, she told them that her sister went to the forest looking for mana stones and hasn’t come back, the unicorn-man handling the guild gave them this task because he believed that time is of the essence as the mountain closest to the forest is said to be home of a legendary beast.
They continue walking at a fast pace up the mountain and while the climb was uneventful, they’re already tired, as they approach the top, they see a small cave where the smoke is coming from.
Before they can go in, they hear whispers that sound like mumbling, Lumi turns around and sees a humanoid with its head upside-down, its eye sockets empty and its mouth agape, it stares her down and its skin starts ripping up.
Tails pulls a blaster from his bag; The monster covers itself in its own blood and starts an incantation making the stones and vegetation warp in unnatural ways.
“Metal!” Sol raises his hand at the monster and in seconds engulfs it in blue fire but it seems unfazed, Metal jumps and spin dashes hitting the monster straight on its face, Metal lands in front of the monster and while its dazed Sol jumps and splits the monster in half with a single slash of his blue flamed sword, their surroundings return to normal instantly, a gold orb comes out of the monster and lands in front of them, Metal touches it and it transforms into a neat looking helmet, just his size, he puts it on without thinking twice.
“Nice job, who knows what would’ve happened if it finished casting... Hey Sage can you help me out gathering samples?” Tails and Sage both walk to the monster’s corpse with a few glass vials, they scoop up bits and pieces of the monster.
“Gross” Sol looks away in disgust.
The group, having defeated the monster, walk into the cave to find a barely lit campfire and a plant girl passed out next to it, Tails hurriedly runs to the girl and notices she has flowers on her head just like her sister, two pink Cosmos flowers adorn her hair, Tails stares at the fully bloomed flowers intensely.
“We have successfully retrieved our target, let us head back to the Guild” Sage’s voice brings Tails back to reality.
“Mission complete, we can finally head back” Metal says, his voice echoing inside his helmet, Sol carries the girl gently and they all head out of the cave, their quest complete.
