Chapter Text
Courtney wakes up in Shayne’s arms. She touches his face, which is soaked with tears.
“I thought I lost you…” he whispers.
“I’ll always come back to you,” she responds.
He kisses her forehead, reassuring himself that she’s really back.
“...what’s going on?” She asks, thoroughly confused.
An emergency meeting is called. All of Smosh is present for Ian and Anthony’s announcement.
“The horrors of today’s events were caused by a rival company,” Ian explains. “They’ve wanted to absorb us for the better part of a decade, but we’ve always refused.”
“You know a company’s bad when we chose Defy over them!” Anthony jokes, trying to lighten the mood.
It doesn’t work.
“Listen, I know many of you are hurt, both physically and emotionally. You are confused, blindsided, scared. We are too. But, we are stronger together. We need to stand up to these bullies and show them what will happen when they come for us!” Ian shouts, fist raised.
Silence.
“What if it happens again?” Courtney asks, grabbing onto Shayne’s arm for emotional support.
“We won’t give them the chance. We’re bringing this to them now, on our own terms,” Ian responds, slamming his fist into his hand.
“Yeah, they won’t know what’s coming!" Anthony adds.
Smosh, full of rage, all cheer at that.
The cheers morph into battle cries.
