Chapter Text

A habit of his own that Rohan always took pride in was his morning routine. Like most other things in his life, he enjoyed it to be perfectly scheduled and organized. He would rise at seven, shower and find a simple, high-protein breakfast. On days that it was necessary, he would do light housework and then prep himself with some simple sketching. The weekends were for laundry, food shopping and the occasional meeting with his editor or Koichi.

He lived a life that was planned in detail, and he would have it no other way. Even when he began seeing Jotaro and sharing a bed with him, Rohan had a meticulous way of going about starting his day. Jotaro, however, seemed to have some objections with it, as there were many instances where Rohan would try to slip out of bed only to be pulled back in moments later.

It was one of those mornings. Rohan was still groggy from sleep as he sat up in Jotaro’s bed, and he shivered from the chill in the air and his significant absence of clothing. Jotaro seemed to still be asleep, so Rohan tasked himself with finding something to wear and was in the process of doing just that when he felt the familiar warmth of Jotaro’s fingers entrapping his wrist. He knew what was coming, and he sighed flatly as his partner shifted just enough to pull him back down and flush against him.

Jotaro pressed a kiss at the top of Rohan’s spine and worked his way up from there. He couldn’t help but shudder from the sensitivity of his neck, and he only moved to put an end to it as Jotaro’s hand began to slip lower down his body.

“Stop that, Jojo. Not today.” Rohan slapped a hand over Jotaro’s forearm in an effort to push it away but to no avail. He huffed and stuck out his lower lip. “Wasn’t last night enough for you?”

Jotaro gave Rohan’s earlobe a gentle tug between his teeth, and Rohan whined softly. “Are you complaining?”

“No, but I should be.” Rohan rose a brow. “Don’t you have work?”

“Ten more minutes. Wait.”

Rohan rolled his eyes with an incredulous chuckle. Unbelievable. “Not this time.” He pushed his elbow back into Jotaro’s side with just enough pressure to make his grip loosen, and with that he took the opportunity to wriggle free and look down at Jotaro pointedly. “I’m going to go put some coffee on. Are you hungry or not?”

Jotaro groaned softly. He rubbed the side of his face, giving Rohan an unenthused look but nodding. “Yeah. A bit.”

Rohan indulged Jotaro a few kisses, giving his chest a soft push before climbing out of bed. “Don’t be long.” He dressed in briefs and his sweater from the previous day and padded to the kitchen. It was his second visit to Jotaro’s home, and it was winter then, as opposed to the late summer heat he received his first time. They’d been together for a bit over four months, and Rohan still couldn’t believe it. Sure, things had grown casual--Rohan no longer hesitated in defining what he and Jotaro had and felt comfortable sharing lives--but whenever he truly slowed down to comprehend all that had happened, it was difficult to fathom.

So many things had occurred since both Rohan’s return to Morioh and also his meeting Jotaro. He had to adjust all over again and start anew in more ways than one. Being involved with someone romantically had essentially forced him to grow used to having an open lifestyle. He never liked it, at first, having to answer to “what’s wrong?”s and “would you like to?”s. Not investing in someone gave him a selfish freedom, and Jotaro took that away from him. He was happier now, and he could barely remember the time where putting someone else before himself in his mind upset him. He didn’t want to go back.

Jotaro eventually joined him in the kitchen after the coffee had begun to brew. He came close and pressed a kiss to Rohan’s temple, and Rohan responded in kind by laying his head against Jotaro’s chest. Despite being so different when apart, their sizes fit perfectly together. Rohan loved it.

“Since you denied me when it came to staying in bed…” He brushed some of Rohan’s hair aside gently. “Would you join me in the shower?”

Rohan did consider it as he fetched their mugs. He would have to shower either way, and it wasn’t entirely unappealing, he thought with a chuckle. He glanced at the time: twenty-five minutes past seven exactly. He would still have plenty of time to do any extra chores, especially after Jotaro left for work. Plus, he was on vacation. It couldn’t hurt, right?

He hummed quietly as he readied Jotaro’s cup and pressed a kiss to the underside of his chin as he handed it to him. “I’ll be right there. Get the water ready.”

It wasn’t exactly a part of his schedule, but Rohan figured that only so much could be done to maintain normalcy while away from home. Somehow, it seemed fitting for their relationship. In the end, whenever he was with Jotaro, Rohan always found that he could make an exception.
